I dont see JP as a bad boy nor do I think that is what Nikki is looking for. Can you expand on how many models dating dbags you know. I can only think of one model in the Bachnation and that is Courtney and while I don't want to go into all of her flaws I wouldn't classify Ben as a dbag. Clearly it didn't work out but I hate to generalize based on one model/bach relationship.

I meant in life, not Bachelor life. I'm not a fan of Ben's either actually so no worries, I won't start talking about him or Court (who I do like personally)! I do see JPG as bad-boyish though but we'll see what happens with him and Nikki. They're still really cute and fun to watch together. Like someone else said, I love love so it'll be great if they're for realsies.

I think he makes her feel loved. I just don't see her "only hoping" for more. ETA: See, I think JP knows he is stubborn and difficult at times. I think he wants to make sure Nikki is okay with the good and the bad when those situations occur. There are always not so great moments in a relationship. I really think he takes this proposal very seriously and if he ever ask her to marry him, in his eyes...they are meant to be.

Without proof, I think he also wants to be sure she wasn't too immersed in the bachelor bubble. The tenderness and respect he gave her on the show really signalled to me that he was in pretty deep. I agree Nikki is pragmatic, introspective, honest, witty, but she did tell JPG she was starting to fall for him really early in the show, was debating telling him she loved him after two 1-1 dates, did tell her mom she would accept a proposal during the hometown. He does need to protect his heart to a degree but I do believe he wants it all to be real for both of them.
From what we were shown, and have since seen, I don't get a controlling vibe from either of them. They both value honesty & family in what appears to be the same way, they share common humour & are direct (blunt at times) communicators so they don't confuse each other, they both dress down a lot of the time (saying something), they find each other sexy, and they are loyal - she stood by him through all the negatives during airing and he kept his word to her father despite pressure that became a battle with TPTB.
I really really like them together.

Just would like to share the blog i've just read. This was written last year re: Why women love to watch "the bachelor". I kinda of relate on the reasons listed by the author. This is why i love coming to this board to read your thoughts and comments on couples or contestants. This is the first time i'm invested on a couple [JPG and Nikki]. Before i'm just a passive lurker, but this time i'm more of an active member of the board as i kind of become fascinated by their unconventional love story. Theirs is not your usual stereotype fairy tale finale; the lead guy is charismatic but blunt, unable to express his feelings verbally to his girl (JPG kinds of grows on me lately) and the girl is pretty, strong and not your typical sweet type. Either people root for them, hate them or just apathetic. I kind of comparing their love story to a novel i'm reading, rooting for a couple with shaky start and to iron out their differences eventually and have their happy ending.

I was under the impression that they can barely breathe without permission from TPTB for about a year after the show finishes airing.

Bob Guiney got sued by the production company for launching a record before his contract expired. Then there was this whole argument about how much the launch did or did not benefit from his being on TB. (If I am remembering back correctly)

I think the idea is, "hey, we made you famous, so we get to control how you benefit from that - and we'd better benefit, too."
