I agree, Nikki probably would have been better off not responding at all. I don't get all the negative responses to her though. I didn't get that Trista was being supportive or wishing them well at all. I interpreted it more of a "well, if you're willing to put up with that kind of a relationship, then it's on you. My heart breaks for you". She didn't really need to say anything other than. I don't know them, and don't know how they are doing today - three weeks after the finale aired. I think Nikki just got fed up with the negative comments and lashed out. It didn't help her cause, but I see her point. It would tick me off having a "family member" commenting on me without them knowing a thing about me.

Well said Mustang19 especially to the bolded. Sometimes it's also good to stand up and not let others treat you as dormat.
What Nikki did is gutsy but made her unpopular. However, at the end of the day, what matters most is the opinion of people in their circle and not of those who do not know them personally.

Maybe it's a French thing but calling a woman a guy's "Blondie" is negative to me.

I live in the US and I consider that a negative also.

I don't know about anyone else but it's not a negative to me. I think of Dagwood's Blondie who's a sweetie. We also have a member called BlondieGal who's also wonderful.

JPG calls Nikki "Mi Catira" or My Blondie, it is a term of endearment.

Frankly, I don't see what the big deal is with Trista's remarks.

I mean, did Juan Pablo make a few unfortunate comments broadcasted and repeated for all to hear? Oh, yes he did. Was Nikki at all disappointed when Juan Pablo didn't propose or publicly declare his love? Oh, I know I noticed her reacting a bit deflated.

Juan Pablo was clearly frustrated and responded negatively to the Bachelor machine. I understand why he did it, don't particularly disapprove of most of it and am thrilled that Nikki appears to get it, too. I'm also extremely hopeful he shared different words with her privately --- words of love --- and it proves to be the real deal between them instead of the bachelor bubble version that fizzles out sometime between their finale and the next The Bachelor being aired.

Juan Pablo isn't perfect and certainly wasn't the right man to be the formula Bachelor. He certainly could have held his tongue and not make a comment, whatever it really was, to Clare that caused her to doubt his sincerity. And, I still cringe at him mentioning a baby in order to reel her back in. I'm sure we all get it, that he was in contract and had to bring her back around, but geez ... did he have to talk babies?

I think Juan Pablo is a good guy and the Bachelor show, as it's currently formatted, wasn't the right fit. I love seeing him and Nikki making a strong go of it. IMHO, body language alone, they seemed to be more of a couple in love at the ATFR than Sean and Catherine did at the same point at their ATFR. (Honestly didn't see Sean and Catherine, as a couple, really in love until after Sean was cut from DWTS.)

I suppose my point is, if Trista's words are that awful, well, mine are similar and at this moment I consider myself a fan of this couple. I truly hope they make it!

I think you said it well, Amberish. You are honest with your thoughts, but kind in how your words come accross. For me, Trista's words came off as condescending or judgemental. I don't believe she means well. I don't think she gives two hoots about them. Not to mention that she criticized them all season from what others have said. Is there a point to her giving this interview three weeks after the fact? I think they are one of the most real couples this show has seen and I do hope they make it, it looks like so far, so good. Trista and Ryan, obvoiusly, are real too, but not everyone takes the same path on their happily ever after.

Well not being negative here and after I read what is going on with this nikki vs trista. I think they have been talked in media for so long now and never stop . And them being part of the reality show finding love expect a lot of crap from tabloids twisting everything and how they edit things . Now I wish on nikki did not just tweet anything and tagged trista on her tweets and just shut up! I think if it is not her tweets there is no drama being created. I understand where is nikki coming from . She is being emotional but I wish she just ignore it and move on .  Do I think trista is an angel here? No. Do I think her comments are harsh and really bad? No. Trista had mistakes too but I don't think it needs drama . Plus everyone has a lot of negative opinions from general public. Now nikki keep taking on her twitter and trista is shutting up and ignoring her . Then nikki is on the tabloid headlines again . So if I were nikki I am going to shut up , move on and focus on my relationship . Just saying.

Maybe OT and JMHO, but I am tired of Trista and her "holier than thou" attitude. She needs to go away and live her life, but I suspect someone in the Bachelor hierarchy is paying her big bucks.
