^^That was fascinating. I know this board is continuing to talk about it, but it surprises me that GMA is still interested in the finale. Is the power struggle between ABC/The Bachelor and Juan continuing? And why? Does the rest of "the world" really care about this stuff?

I thought that it was JP's voice singing on the cell phone and it was only later that he had someone recorded it professionally. He could also have written it for the F1 prior to the last dates but didn't know at the time who it would be ... no names mentioned. Maybe he was planning to use it as a surprise for the F1 at the FRC. It wasn't until Clare gave him grief at LCD that things changed and that he made up his mind that it would be Nikki at the end.

I was curious about the same thing as it has been a whole week since the finale. That's a long time in entertainment news.
I felt Clare represented herself well and that the interviewer kept the tone fairly balanced; didn't feel that there was an attempt to continue the negative spin cycle as she did ask about some of JPG's positive traits.  The interviewer did a much better job than CH at the ATFR because if Clare is seeing someone now she was last week too.  Also, she didn't try to rile Clare up so it was a really good conversation.

I just think that since Nikki and Juan Pablo didn't want to do the GMA interview, they had the F2 do it. Sort of how Lindzi made the interview rounds at the end of Ben's season. Ben and Courtney didn't do any publicity either. If anything, I can see the show wanting these interviews to keep the show in the public eye. I doubt they care enough about Juan Pablo at this point to be in any sort of power struggle with him. In a few weeks, Juan Pablo is going to fade away and TPTB will promoting their upcoming Bachelorette and Bachelor Pad seasons. Juan Pablo will be just a distant memory for them.

The composer/performer of the song (Obie ...) has tweets about it -- in Spanish.  If anyone reads Spanish, you can check it out for us.  I can tell that they were good pals before he started taping (i.e., August 2013).

The lyrics are generic enough that he could have written them at any point during the show's taping.  Doesn't take away from the gesture of playing the song for her on eve of FRC.  But who knows.

What is very clear is that Juan Pablo, Obie, and another collaborator on the song, a Christian artist named Joey Davila, go back together many years.

Davila seemed disappointed that the song was only in a deleted scene.

Probably JP had his own product placement goals for his time on the show: DWTS gig for himself, airtime for his artist friends, and public attention for Venezuela.  Seems like he and his agent misunderstood the nature of the business of TV at the network level.  They promote THEIR sponsors, not some reality TV "star" desires.   It's just too cheesy to air some segment of the lead talking about his friends' song, even if it's pegged to his feelings about a blonde girl on the show.

Anyway, it's a bouncy song, he got them a million hits on You Tube, which isn't nothing.

AND, for me, I actually believe somewhat that he and Nikki have more than a "Show the Bastards" relationship post show.

Davila, for his part, thought it was going to air March 3, the week prior.

I prefer to believe that it was always Nikki from the beginning. And that he wrote that before the LCD to let Nikki know she was the one he was going to choose. Of course I'm saying this because I like them now as a couple.   Didn't care for Clare from what I've seen. I do hope she finds the guy for her.

Just followed the twitter path you provided and this seems to be what happened:
JP provided "some words" as stated on his video
Joey [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] turned them into song lyrics
Obie [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] wrote the melody

The deleted scene version is not as "polished" as the tribute video - percussion & backup vocal was added in the latter.

It would be possible to have the first version produced quickly.  These people have the ability & equipment to produce something in short order.

Maybe im missing something....but I didn't see anything wrong with what Clare said in that interview. She said what she felt like saying without being rude or bitter. She obviously is very happy that things turned out the way they did and she even admits that she was who she is...emotional/sensitive/and all with hightened emotions from this experience. No regrets. I think that's a very good thing. Hope everything works out for her and she gets everythings she's looking
for.

Im also very happy to see that the way things were handled with her, particularly in Vietnam were finally brought to her attention since it seemed as if she didn't notice it during the show. She snapped out of this real quick and it's done wonders for her it seems.

I'm happy for Clare too, just because JPG couldn't and didn't want to put up with her neediness doesn't mean some other guy won't jump at the chance to comfort her and be all doting like she needs. We've seen plenty of them from this show so they're out there! I haven't seen the interview but sounds like she has a new guy so maybe he's what she needs!
