I have been picky about this because last season I was spoiled with Brooks by a post that was totally unintentional, but I just knew based on her post that it was Brooks. I was rooting for Chris and I did keep sleuthing in his thread, so it all worked out for that season, but I'm hoping that won't happen again.  On Sean's season, I was reading the ABC boards before the season even started and a poster spoiled Catherine on purpose in multiple threads.   

On another note.. I wrote this in the SC thread, but it might belong here... It's in reply to Litta's SCs of Clare's meltdowns.
Litta.. Clare was also the one most upset about JP kissing Sharleen while the rest of the girls were by the pool. She left and went to her room. I won't add the SC, but she was the one watching JP and Sharleen.
There is a VO in the previews that lands on Lucy. "She thinks he is her man" Even though it's on Lucy, I feel like that line is going to be about Clare. This is why I brought up her dating history. If she didn't have a boyfriend from age 22-31, it may explain some of her behavior. That should have been a period for a lot of emotional growth. While Nikki might have been a bit negative about Victoria, she tried to help her first, so I give her a pass there. I know I haven't seen much yet, but my impression of Nikki is that she has her act together, so I have a feeling her statement about Clare being "crazy" is going to be correct. Has the crazy girl ever been the F2? We've had crazy as F1- Courtney, Vienna. Can't recall when they've edited an F2 to be crazy.

If by crazy you mean clinging and jealous then yes Moana on Travis's season was that way. She was emotional and upset many times during that season and Travis had to cajole her often.

For fun... and to pick our brains.

It may be possible to get certain details of the upcoming storyline (either the one we see on screen edited or the real story behind the scenes) by examining what quotes are spoken over what contestant in a given promo.

Some possibilities here…

Clare gets the lion’s share of quotes as if she is THE most important contestant on the show. Whether or not she is F1, she is clearly the one Juan is fussing about the most on screen. Apparently Sharleen “ruins” the experience (which Juan labels an adventure) for “everybody” (Clare?), although we have yet to see how.

Curiously, many shots of Sharleen are intermixed with Clare as if to suggest some rivalry… or parallel storylines. (Clare called herself an “ice princess” but Sharleen shows little actual affection for Juan on screen apart from methodical kisses.) There are also indications that Clare wants to leave since she precedes Victoria’s “I want to go home” shot. Does she? Or is Juan repeatedly begging her to stay? He seems to be coaxing Sharleen to as well, despite how hard it is “to live like this”. It is as if he desperately needs Sharleen for some other purpose than being a F1 prospect.

Surprisingly, Nikki plays a very minor role except for that interesting line of his seeing his daughter’s future with her… or somebody resembling her on horseback. It is possible that she could be F1 based on just this one line, but she seems to be outside of Juan’s focal point in most of the promo. Nikki calling Clare “crazy” may be a sign that Clare does something she regrets and Nikki attempted to stop her.

Although there isn’t a lot of Catherine here, there IS a lot of Sean saying there’s no doubt in his mind “who” his wife is over shots of himself. He does “picture” a future with Lesley too, but the fact that Catherine thought her friend was a better “match” than she was… as tearfully stated at St. Croix’s rose ceremony… gets a rebuttal by Sean: “I can picture us spending the rest of our lives together”.  It is as if he is reassuring both Catherine and reminding any contestants who were competitive with her that he is certain of his final decision.

I also suspect the “blindside” partly related to Catherine’s letter, which might have included a few lines NOT aired on screen that expressed some initial doubt and lack of self confidence on her part. Again, Sean’s absolute certainty throughout the promo is a way of building up her confidence “in us” despite all of their personality differences.

Also AshLee was “blindsided” with her sudden elimination… and pretty angry about it. It is possible she may be a bit more like arch-rival Tierra than she realizes.

F2 Lindsay is… alas… in la-la land. Yet she is praising Sean for Catherine’s sake.

Chris’ F1 edit is given to us on a silver platter here, probably because Fleiss knew many viewers would be looking up Reality Steve’s spoilers and following them faithfully.

Brooks and James have some parallel action going on, drama-wise. Apparently both guys were the ones a few others felt most competitive with, yet James is the more upset about “losing” Desiree than Brooks (who left on his own)… and Brooks appears to be apologizing to James, not Desiree. It all gets confusing trying to analyze all of this, but let’s say that these two guys had a “complicated” relationship and rivalry on the show.

Zak Waddell’s editing is odd here. When calling out James wanting to be the next bachelor, the camera does not show James… just Zak himself talking. It is as if the editors are saying “speak for yourself”. Yet Zak apparently didn’t want the role in the end anyway since it is now Juan’s, so such an edit is pointless now.

Regardless of his ditching Des and later revealed to have a girlfriend, Bryden looks very good in Des’ eyes here. Intriguingly, he… along with F1 Chris, Zack K. and Mickey T... were the only “blooper” scenes shown in Men Tell All that Des seemed to be enjoying.

Kasey sure got a squeaky clean edit on the show, but NOT here. Des clearly dislikes him. When he comments (I didn’t include this line) that she should know what was said behind her back, she is walking away as if not listening to him.

Wow JBF!!! This is a thesis! ...so, the other promos have the beginning/intro part, the middle drama part, and the end/clarity part. How come the promo for JP ends in the middle section?

Does who Juan kisses in the promos matter? As of right now, we have Juan kissing Sharleen, Andi, Renee (by the fire in NZ?), Clare in the previews. I don't recall Chelsie or Nikki being kissed in any of our caps...but I could be remembering wrong. (I'm just using what I believe to be our final 6 in terms of the girls Juan kisses as a point of comparison.)

ETA: Oops, I forgot to ask, so does that make Nikki even more hidden or does it make her more insignificant?

You are right, julychild. The fact that Juan is missing his "final third" portion is downright peculiar.

Then again, Ashley's promo back in 2011 had all three parts, but ran roughly the same running time as Juan's... and hers ended with a lot of tears and a dive under the covers (with her trusty Vaseline on the bedpost).

As for the kissing scenes... you got me on that, Litta. Nikki could be F1 and they are hiding the "chemistry". It just is strange how seemingly "unimportant" she appears to be in the promo. Also many of Clare's scenes line up with quite a number of past F1 "spots". That doesn't make her F1 necessarily, especially if they are changing old cookie cutter patterns.

Not JBF but IMO "more hidden". She could not have reached St Lucia without some lip action. But it is strange.
We also know that JP finds her "cute and sexy" (PI during the dog date) and it is clear that he really likes her because he was stroking her head in ep2 during their date 1on1. IMO what he feels for her is slightly different that the other girls just from the way he is acting with her. But he is definitely interested. And I somehow get the feeling that the amount of making out is not an indication of if he likes her or not.

As we visit past couples, we only get a snippet of the Rosenbaums but plenty of the other four. Desiree’s biological clock is pounding away with loud gongs: she is ssssooooo eager to have “little children… and dogs and all that stuff”. We then get that other Seattle couple, the Mesnicks with “little children”, no dogs, but “all that stuff”… and the Sutters with “little children” and plenty of “stuff” including a second wedding of sorts.

Then off to Cat On The Hot Tin Roof, eager to try out “Consumation Station” with Sean. “It’s going down!”

Sooo…. Our theme this promo: babies and the joys of putting them into production. Only the topic of children ends when the Sutters leave our screen and we are now focused on the “production” angle. That is, until we change the subject to “girls” later… and speaking of “girls”, there are no shots of Juan’s Camilla THIS time! His mind is on other things besides step-mommy shopping.

Gee, Juan. Must you shake your champagne bottle that aggressively as you “see” your future wife in front you? Yeah… I suspect “she” (if she exists) is on that soccer group date.

Next up… our “smitten kittens”…
1.) Cassandra throws me for a loop when she says “the last time that I felt this way for a guy was… never”. No comment by Juan, but I am curious what the father of her son must think of that line. (Clare said in episode #2: “I haven’t felt this alive because of a man in a long, long, long time”.)
2.) Andi says “it got serious for me today”. Juan listens as he chews his food. She also feels giddy, but does Juan? He doesn’t speak here.
3.) All Nikki talks about is that stupid soccer field and saying he looks “at home” here, but Juan is all happy… “she’s falling… she jeeza goin’…”
4.) Looks like Cassandra or Clare (or some mix-mash of either) is kissing Juan in front of a fire place when he says “this is what I need, this is what I want”. Is he talking about the girl or the situation? Juan wants those flames to keep on a-roarin’…

Chelsie: “One of us is gonna get a date and one of us is gonna get nothing.” You got THAT right, yee science teacher. Elise has it half wrong when she calls out Chelsie as a “little girl” and is not ready to be a step-mom. I don’t think Juan is looking for just a step-mom.

Which brings us to Sharleen, who just may be ready for the step-mom role but is struggling with something else. She tells him that she is “not quite sure” when kissing him. Huh? Maybe if Juan switches to another flavor of chap stick.

Yet this gets Andi all hot and bothered since she “doesn’t know what his type is”. Sharleen seems to laugh at that line as the camera then pans from her to... which one is she? Can’t tell with the face covered. Looks like Clare sitting down with him as Andi says she doesn’t want to share him with anybody else.

The catch-word this season repeated by four constestants so far is “it sucks”. Andi says it over a rose hidden among glasses of booze… suggesting that the ladies may be suffering a bit like Victoria.

Kelly complains that somebody should be considerate that there are 14 other “giiiirrrrrls”. Hey! They must all be just like Chelsie! She’s a girl too. Curiously, the camera pans on Clare poolside when Kelly says that. No clue what the point is. Is Clare not allowing the “girls” to have him?

Once again, we get Sharleen cuddling Juan again… “I just don’t think anyone’s looking”. What? You want an audience? She then gets “and you look like a whore” as Lucy bites her thumb and Elise, Andi and Nikki all look with dagger eyes. This makes absolutely no sense at all since Sharleen acted so hesitant in her kissing earlier.

I'm confused by some of the analysis. Just because there is a VO with a picture of someone doesn't necessarily mean they are talking about that person correct??? Like when Elise says someone is a 'little girl" and not what JP is looking for and they are showing a picture of Chelsie it doesn't necessarily mean that Elise' comments are referring to Chelsie. The other one that sticks out for me is the conflict Clare and Nikki seem to have in one of the previews. Maybe they are talking to each other but maybe they aren't. That's what makes this so difficult is that the words and the pictures don't always have something to do with each other....but sometimes they do.

Am I as confused as I feel???
