*No Spoilers* The Bachelor 18 Edit Discussions

Now dont get me wrong, I have no issues with it! If I was stuck with a bunch of girls and the Tierra or Victoria shenanigans happened, I would probably bitch worse than either Nikki or Catherine :)

Ha! Probably true for me, too. Just to refocus, the point to bringing this up about Nikki is not to judge her as a good person or bad, but to see if it's a red flag in terms of her edit. For Courtney and Vienna, their edit out of the box was flat out nasty. Frankly, I had a mostly positive view of Nikki, and truthfully still do, through the first two episodes. I haven't felt her edit to be going in the direction of Courtney or Vienna, so it just surprised me that the closed captioning indicated it was Nikki who was speaking poorly of Victoria. That raised a red flag to me about her being the F1, but perhaps it shouldn't in light of what you shared about Catherine.

The other thing is that most people wouldnt have spotted it was Nikki (i never thought of checking out the cc!) so I am not sure TPTB were trying to point her out as being a little nasy, or just used that scene to show the girls talking/bitching about the situation?

As for any of the girls being nasties, so far i cant really pinpoint any, I am sure it will cone soon enough!

The point is how the girl is being edited not what she actually says and does.

Pretty sure almost all contestants have something to say about the other contestants or get into anger/emotional issues. But those scenes are just not shown and are edited out. Alternatively they are left in for a reason. The editors don't just leave 1 or 2 lines in they maintain a thread of behavior. The exceptions would be Courtney and Vienna since if their shenanigans were edited out, the producers would have no show.
For example I remember seeing some preview clips of Chris L being angry and shouting but those never made it to the final show. They were for whatever reason edited out of the show.

Does anybody think the reason Nikki was shown "critiquing" in comical fashion has anything to do with Victoria screaming that she hope Juan dies? Even Tierra in all her glorious glitter didn't go that route.

Quick question - I saw upthread and elsewhere on some other thread comments about CH and Sharlene. Where has this even come from ? I feel like I missed something.

Quick question, if you are spoiled are you just supposed to read the "No Spoilers" threads but not comment? I have commented here but haven't said anything that would give spoiled info away. Feel like I'm still new to all of this so just wanted to clarify..... :greenman:

nd, this is from JBF's comments on the first page of this thread. I think he or someone else has made similar comments elsewhere...but I don't have time to look now. I was just joking about it when I made the comment in the screen cap thread last night. I was getting a little slap happy, that's all. I don't know if it was my comment that you were referring to, but this is where I'm getting it from.

It was the WAY Chris Harrison praised her in his "ones to watch"... like she is this opera singer from heaven.

Here's what I posted a couple posts before the last one referenced... when I was discussing ALL of the ladies by their abc.com bios and Harrison's "ones to watch" list:

Sharleen- our Canadian import this season and a bit more “international” in her interests than many of the others. Actually enjoys Japanese anime for a change. Harrison goes further to promote her as a potential Bachelorette: “a world class opera singer who came from Heidelberg, Germany. She has a lot of life experience and really rises above the rest in the fact that’s she’s so mature, so worldly and so smart.” She appears to be the first exit in the very last limo, where some of the “prime cuts” among the group are often placed. JP was edited here even if he was really last out in Ashley’s season. Apparently somebody besides Harrison thinks she is an interesting choice for him. For his part, Harrison comments that Juan Pablo says “she has mundo”.

IMO commenting on the girls actions or for that matter discussing anything that has already been see onscreen in a past episode, in interviews, ChrisH / Lead blogs etc is allowed. Those are not spoilers. As long as you can keep things neutral. I believe the mods have even put non-spoiler guidelines in this section of the site.

Someone said that they are spoiled but read their posts multiple time to make sure their bias is left out of their postings.

However leading unspoiled folks by referencing contestants in a future situtation, dropping clues or even fangirling about the supposed F1 (like what tends to happen each season) should be please avoided.
[Personally I am here because I hate the fangirling that takes place as soon as the F1 is spoiled   . I know those accused of doing this deny it   but often are the "usual" suspects  :P ].

Besides we learned last season (Des) and even in Brad 2.0 that the spoilers can be so wrong    so its better to watch and post unspoiled. IMO.
