*No Spoilers* The Bachelor 18 Edit Discussions

Wonderful thing about this season is that I don't care who "wins". I will say that Clare will be the most fun as Bachelorette. I liked the second edition of BURNING LOVE with bubbly "Julie Gristlewhite"... and Clare reminds me the most of her.

I find Clare to be boring so far but will try to keep an open mind, JBF. Right now I don't see her as f1 but they want us to see a lot of her for some reason. Could be their favorite for next lead or could be she ends up being a drama queen.  Way back in Byron's season there was someone called Jane (?) who was a frontrunner until she let things get to her. She didn't make it to the f2 however but they brought Mary in as a ringer. We know there's a hint of drama involving Clare so will be interesting to see.

I am totally split between her and Nikki. Andi is the one I am lacking confidence in.

OK… tossing the golf ball into Clare’s corner again. Not that I am seeing a “final one” edit quite yet (ooof! I still wish she hadn’t recycled Brooks’ line from last season since it sounded so “canned” and she is still sing-songy in her talk), but it is still early and there are still some interesting things popping up that I didn’t catch before.

One part of the conversation I found interesting: “We have high standards. Clare and I definitely have high standards on relationships. So… I want her to stay because I enjoy being with her. Just feels like it is right.”

He got rid of the massage therapist, but Sean told him that Catherine’s massages are a turn-on and said he should have kept her. Clare massages Juan… and he mentions saving a second for later in his people.com blog.

When her hair is up holding the rose in the PI session, she strongly resembles Juan’s “make out” partner in the nighttime surf scenes.

  You know you are in the friend zone when you tell a guy that you thought he was going to kiss you...basically telling him to go for it...and he doesn't!

Since you asked ... JuanPa is my favorite bachelor in a long time. He is a nice combo of sexy & caring plus he's a natural in front of the camera. The fact that he kept around some smart women makes me happy.

Based purely on previews (and not much non-spoiler sleuthing), I think his final 1 is either the bleached blond on the horse (either Nikki, Elise or gal with orange face who got last rose) in what appears to be an exotic location ... or ... Sharleen.

Sharleen was initially cold/aloof in ep 1 and then in future episodes she appears to be in lots of previews either making out with JP or looking sad. We know she is going to bring drama. Chris H. seems to be throwing lots of love Sharleen's way in promotional interviews which makes me wonder why.

Since Sharleen does not seem to be a future Bachelorette candidate (unless she warms up A LOT in future episodes), she could be a F1/lead contender whom JP loves but viewers do not (a la Courtney). I barely watched Ben's season because I did not like Courtney so maybe, maybe CHris is building up fan support for the wonderful Sharleen in anticipation of backlash.

Let's see if Sharleen stays kind (as Andi noted) who truly falls for JP or transitions into a high-drama figure that viewers love to hate (and don't want for the well liked JP) when has other options (Andi, Renee, Nikki, Clare, Elise, Kat, etc.) who SEEM to be better fit for him than Sharleen in terms of lifestyle, location, etc.

- Or - Sharleen lasts until F5-6 and then gets the boot along with a somewhat negative edit. As JBF noted, Chris wants to scoop her up for himself so is playing nice in the media.

Sprite, I agree with you 99%, but the 1% holdout is hoping that Juan was trying to be respectful of her because he knows she is a mom with an older son who would be watching. Maybe Juan needed to be really sure before he could/would go down that path with her.   Holding onto a little hope because I REALLY like Renee, but honestly, I don't think it's going to happen for her.

I don't see where them showing anyone taking part in drama means they're not the f1. We've had them cause the drama in the past even. Kat and her buddy, Lesley, did joke about Tierra but that never bothers me when someone goes out of their way to cause drama with others. I am interested to see what the problem is between Nikki & Clare.

Just a note on this: Emily's and Sean's seasons showed that late 1st date does not mean the person is not a front runner (Jef, Catherine). I also agree that so far, we had seen more involvement from Catherine on Tierra drama than from Nikki on Victoria. One person we see almost nothing no involvement with the Victoria thing (that I can think of without rewatching) is Andi. And no, I have no idea what it means!

Sophie, I will yield to your expertise when it comes to Catherine, but IIRC, Catherine didn't mock Tierra. Yes, she spoke with the others girls and expressed frustration, but I don't recall feeling like she was disrespectful of Tierra. I'm not saying that I don't get the need to talk about a stressful, confusing situation with the other girls. The thing that bothered me about what Nikki did was that she imitated/exaggerated Victoria's voice. I would have preferred her simply relaying the conversation she had with Victoria without the long, drawn out nasal voice. In fairness to Nikki, Victoria was REALLY annoying and attention seeking...so maybe I should cut her some slack.

Catherine is the one that coined the term Tierrable...
