It is good that we are debating this rather then simply agreeing "yes, Clare is F1". Bring on all of the pro-Nikki or pro-Andi evidence... or even bring dark horse candidates Sharleen or Renee or the possibility of nobody into this.

Needless-to-say, the more I backtrack through the episodes, the harder it is for me to see any other outcome at the end of this. When I first watched episodes #1 and #2 when they were broadcast, I genuinely thought Nikki was the one. Yet... like last season... I will go back and keep discovering new things confirming how wrong my initial speculation was.

Part of this is editing. Part is the body language episode after episode. Take, for example, the breakfast scene in episode #3. We see Juan hug Renee, Danielle, Clare and Andi. HUGE differences in body language. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Now... the argument here. Why aren't we shown him hugging Nikki? Was it because their connection was too obvious? That is why I think Chris was hidden a lot before the Kate Earl dance (which had too much lop & chop and out-of-focus). Was it simply that she got up late and didn't hug him? Why bother showing him hug nobody he picks in the end? Heck, why bother showing him in the pool or ocean with Clare if it wasn't even necessary since he chose somebody else? There is no need for F1 and "All of America" to see that. Yeah, Mike Fleiss loves conflict on his show, but he may not be as gung-ho about the couple splitting before ATFR as we all assume.

One word. DRAMA.

And forgot to mention also ..that Clare and her "respect" issues will be a factor as well .. She has a huge problem in that department with that .. It has been mentioned multi times over the past few episodes as well

Did Nikki tell the others about her meeting the family? Was it mentioned in any of the previews?

No it wasn't shown in the previews that she told the women. The only mention we have was in the ABC episode press release.

The only reason we think these contestants are "terrible" is because the fellow contestants are telling us so. Who are we to believe? Chelsie?

:sourgrapes: Chelsie probably knew that her time was up, because she didn't have the connection with JP some of the other girls have. In her mind, she believed she was 'due' for a 1 on 1 but Nikki got it. JBF, you well know that this show is storyboarded and the contestants are encouraged (to put it mildly) to say all manner of things so that the producers can craft the edit. At this point they want to create a conflict between Clare and Nikki, and they need the reinforcement from the other contestants. They are trying to create ambiguity, they are not going to hand you the ending on a plate, so you are going to get conflicting messages. You believe who you want to believe based on your biases, we all do.

I didn't take the rolling of his eyes as him thinking that Nikki is coo-coo but rather indicating tot he laughing audience that JK was cook-coo and talking rubbish jokingly.

What got to me was when his eyes cracked a smile when JK mentioned Nikki.

BTW he also gave a big smile towards the end when JK was doing the wrap and wished him luck with the girl from kansas (whatever Nikkis HT is, I don't remember now).

I agree with this. Clare has sharing issues already seen on the show. How is she going to deal with a step daughter who is the apple of her dads eye as well as an ever present Ex that JP is apparently pretty close to still ? Not too well possibly.

Not saying that JP did not pick her but it will be a huge learning curve for her if he did. She will no longer be an entitled princess because that is another reigning princess in his life already.

Well, Clare admitted herself in her package that she was "daddy's girl." It has been my clinical experience that being so doesn't always bode well for that individual in her adult relationships since she has been programmed to believe that she is the most important person in "his" life. So when that doesn't come to fruition, the child part of her does exactly what you described - she "pouts"
