I'm just going to say this. While I won't totally write off a group gift, I will tell you I have had a bad experience with them. They caused infighting about what to get, how much to spend (do people give equally or as much as they can afford), and that kind of thing.

At this time, I am inclined not to participate in one but will leave it up to each of you to do as you wish.

Umngirl, I actually hoped you, lipsis and maybe someone else would help organize it. However since it's not a popular idea, we can forget about it and move on. To be honest after much thought I agree it's better we all do as we wish.

The group gift was just a passing thought out there but it seems to be an idea that isn't happening. That's what I like about our forum, we tell it like it is with great respect for the person who had the idea. Now on to what each individual person is moved to do for the soon to be Mr. and Mrs lowe     I love saying that Mr and Mrs Lowe :sweetheart:

It's not that it's a touchy subject, I just don't get why I'm being asked to explain myself while others aren't.

I would like to apologize for any discomfort that may have stemmed from my suggestion. I should have probably first discussed the idea with some of you via pm before making it public. I know how it can be overwhelming sometimes when people are always dependent on you to perform, but I hope you all understand that I felt that since a handful of you have been/ are the cornerstones of the forum( and I mean this as a compliment), board members would be more trusting and therefore willing to participate in a collective gift idea if you organized it, as opposed to if say, I did.

Anyway I am glad we can all move on.
