Sean Lowe & Catherine Giudici - Bachelor 17 - General Discussion

Thanks, all! Not able to really keep up this weekend with a little travel, but hope to catch up more tomorrow night.

This comment maybe a bit late, I was out the whole day. I also believe that Des is his F2. He was more torn about sending Des home. I think he let Ashley & Lindsay stay bec it was safe and will not confuse him further.

I also LOVED their energy together and their ability to embrace life and enjoy it!
I know we saw lots of skepticism at her home, but that’s exactly what they showed when Ryan came to my hometown even though most of the night was spent laughing. I don’t buy into it wholeheartedly, but I know there has to be some truth to it because the wind seemed to have been let out of Catherine’s sails. I do know that even if Sean didn’t get a formal blessing from her mom in the kitchen, that if Catherine’s the one, he won’t let that stop him from contacting her again and asking a second time. A gentleman is as a gentleman does and he’s a gentleman.

I've really grown to appreciate Trista over the years (not so much in the beginning). I love that she seems to adore Sean and is so supportive of him and Catherine. It makes me appreciate her even more.

Umngirl, thanks for posting the blogs. I'm really enjoying rereading them. You're the best.

I'm so bummed out I missed all the talk about the dates. When I have time, I want to give some input of my own about all the videos you guys have been posting and discussing.

Ahh life, it gets in the way of my SeanCat fun lol!!!

Totally agree with both of you. You could so tell on his HTD with Ashley that he didn't seem invested in her at all. When she told him she was so happy he was there, he couldn't/wouldn't look at her when he responded to her statement. His body language with Ashley and Lindsay was so different than it was with Catherine.

I don't know if it's just me, but, reading Sean's blogs again just shows me how much more entertaining/informative they were than the ones from the Bachelorette this season. His nerdiness/fun comes out. This years just seem so much more somber to me. Maybe it is because he just seems to be an easy going, fun loving nerd, while Des just seems much more serious and introverted....or it could be that he was just so happy and couldn't wait to shout it from the roof tops, while Des...not so much?

Only now had a chance to read this today. My thoughts:

1. I'll be here, too. Not going anywhere. We can discuss SeanCat's grandkids and who they look like.

2. After watching the HTD again, I felt for Sean. He didn't get want he wanted out of it but don't blame Cat's mom. She was meeting Sean for the first time and skeptical about the whole process and he's asking for her blessing. She doesn't even know him and I'm sure it was hard for her to give her blessing at that point. It left Sean with doubts so his feelings for Cat must've been very strong since he brushed off those doubts and kept her on.

3. People may think Des' brother is the reason she was sent home, but I think Sean knew he didn't love her. If he really felt he was falling in love with her, I think he would've disregarded the brother.

4. I love reading Sean's blogs again. I forgot what he had written. Thanks to everyone for all their input. What a fun and informative bunch you are!

I've thought a lot about Cat's Mom not giving him her blessing at the HTD. What a realistic and educated women she is. She didn't know Sean. He was still going home with three other women. She valued her daughter so and was sceptical and rightly so.
She said to Sean,"lets see how this plays out"
I'm sure when he made his final choice and she know that Cat was his final choice she welcomed him with open arms but not before. I loved her article "believe in my daughters love" She's a true Mom not wanting her daughter hurt and not bowing to TV pressure until she was sure, I admire her and I know she loves Sean now even though the process under which they met made her wait until she was sure to tell him.

IMO Cynthia Giudici is far more intimidating than 2star General Yenter! She is a traditional woman who found herself having to raise 3 young daughters on her own for the last 13-14 years. Who can blame her for being very protective? She's a good woman and i'm sure she has seen how much Sean loves her daughter and she him an has given her blessing either formally or informally by now.

Agreed lipsis, I think your post and mine describes Cynthia Giuduci perfectly. No crap, used to being in charge, Even Cat said to Sean abouther Mom, "she can be intimidating" 2star General Yentern has to take a back seat to Cynthia Giuduci. Glad shes on Sean and Cat side now. I won't want to cross her.......strong Mom

In an interview after the season ended, Cynthia admitted that she and her two other daughters had planned beforehand to stonewall Catherine (and consequently Sean) on the HTD in an effort to discern how serious Catherine was about her process with Sean.
