Sean Lowe & Catherine Giudici - Bachelor 17 - General Discussion

Cynthia Guidici is indeed more intimidating than the star general. She's not only raised 3 wonderful daughters single handedly, she's also well educated and I believe a respected representative of her filipino community. Her strength and resilience is admirable. I am sure Sean and his family appreciate that.

I know some are still discussing the last episode, but here is the next one so feel free to talk about any of them.

After sending Des home, I wondered if I would wake up and realize that I had made a mistake. Fortunately, that was not the case. Instead, I woke up and realized that I couldn't get enough of Catherine. I was always so happy around her and I think despite our different lifestyles, we were actually a really good fit together. Her sense of humor, her adventurous nature and her intellect kept me wanting more.

Our snorkeling date was fun, but my favorite part came later. That storm swept in so quickly, and we rushed back to the boat for cover but the moment seemed too romantic not to share a kiss in the rain. I knew I was falling in love with Catherine. That realization led me to the next one ... I had to send AshLee home.

I seriously love this date so much. I must watch it nearly every day. Wish I had a nickel for every time that Sean and Catherine make googlie eyes at each other. I'd be a rich woman. I love that Sean watches her with such intense love and pride then and still.



Also, here are a couple more videos the first is Seans talk with Chris and the other is of Sean watching the video messages and Catherine's arrival at the rose ceremony. They both are positively glowing. I can't help but wonder when he left the fantasy suite that morning. We know the rose ceremony was later that afternoon and Sean couldn't keep his glow under control when he talked to Chris nor could Cat when Chris asked her how she was.

Totally agree with both of you.   You could so tell on his HTD with Ashley that he didn't seem invested in her at all. When she told him she was so happy he was there, he couldn't/wouldn't look at her when he responded to her statement.  His body language with Ashley and Lindsay was so different than it was with Catherine.

After going back and watching all these videos over time since the show first aired, I've changed my thoughts on when Sean knew it was Catherine. I originally thought she was a frontrunner since the Canada date, but that after the FD that Sean knew for sure.

But I've come to think that Sean knew it was Catherine since the Canada date, and that every week after that, he knew it even more.

I think that Des' brother had nothing to do with whether or not Sean would end up with Des. If he loved her, he wouldn't have cared about the brother. I think that after Hometowns, Sean was going to send the two most emotional women home first, knowing they would have the hardest time with the rejection. I think he thought Lindsay, who was the girl who wore the wedding dress the first night, was someone who would be able to handle it better than Des or Ashlee.

I think it's possible he was going to send Ashlee home first, but the thing with Des' brother changed that. I think the producers picked the order of the roses to be handed out, and they wanted you to think he was torn between Des and Cat, because of Des' brother and Cat's sisters. I think Sean went along with that storyline for the drama purposes the show wanted. I don't think he was ever torn at all. I think he felt really bad to send Des home, and after she pulled him aside and talked to him, he felt even worse. But I don't believe at any time would he ever have sent Catherine home.

I went back recently and watched the Fantasy Dates, all three of them. I hadn't watched Sean's FD's with Ashlee and Lindsay since they aired on tv. And wow, watching them again, it is crystal clear that Sean was never torn between these women, his body language says it all. He doesn't touch them constantly like he does with Cat, his eyes don't light up like they do with Cat, and he doesn't look at them the way he looks at Cat. He says the standard things and he asks the standard questions about the future, but you can tell he is just going through the motions with the other two, for the sake of the show.

This is a highly edited show, that mostly sticks to a formula of the Bachelor/Bachelorette being torn between the F2. This season with Des had so much drama, as has some previous seasons, so they change it up. But mostly they stick to the standard torn between the F2, which is what I believe they told Sean to do, since there was no drama involved in his ending. But no way was he torn, he knew who he wanted, and the more I go back and watch the videos, the more obvious the love story becomes.

Their fantasy date is a fairytale love story unfolding before our very eyes. It's Sean not being able to take his eyes off of Catherine. It's Sean not being able to stop touching her or kissing her. It's Catherine's giggling, and shy, loving looks at him. It's a man telling a woman she makes him happy. It's kissing in the rain, and it's holding hands at dinner. It's honorable intentions and it's mutual admiration. It's unveiling truths and confiding in someone you trust. It's a look into each other's eyes that shows you the power of real love. It's a kiss in the moonlight under the stars. It's not a fantasy, it's real life, and real true love. It's a love story, with a happy ending.  

I think I've watched this date more than anything else from the season including the proposal. I just love all of it. From their super cute greeting on the beach to the talk on the boat, and the making out in the water/rain to the "look" that sealed it all, the date just had everything. And I can't watch their time in the pool at the end of the date enough. I love every second of it. Those two were totally oblivious to anyone else being there.

People made a big deal about the fact that she got the second rose and almost got sent home again but that was never the case. She got the second rose IMO for one of two reasons either it was producer driven or he gave her the second rose to make sure he sent Ashlee home. He said at one point he didn't know if he had the words or the courage to send Ashlee home. Well, if it came down to saying either Catherine's name or AshLee's name he had the courage!

In that video where he is talking to Chris he said he had some questions coming into this week but they had all been answered and yes he thought he would propose. That is all about Catherine. Her sisters raised some questions, she answered them and now he was ready!

And back to the HTD for a sec... Didn't I read/hear that Sean said that Catherine was never in danger of going home at that RC? And didn't he also say that if he had reconsidered sending Des home that he would have had to of sent one of the other women home, not necessarily Catherine?

I vaguely remember that as well, but I have no idea where from or if I'm remembering wrong.
