Re: Sean Lowe & Catherine Giudici - Bachelor 17 - General Discussion
I'll save my other comments for later. Anyway, we'll have discussion for a week before rewatching the proposal. Not sure if I heard it correctly during the Huff Post interview that she said she watched the season with her Mom. Maybe her Mom advised her before she left for the TB filming not to do something that will embarrass her or their friends and family. She will not be comfortable watching it with her Mom if it's a heavy makeout with Sean. I believe Cynthia was very strict with her daughters when it comes to dating a guy that's why Catherine told Sean she's scary and intimidating.scarre_me wrote:Especially me:Embarressed!: Those are probably some moments that Cath felt uncomfortable watching. I cant even see Catherine doing that. Its not in her character and upbringing. Mom Cynthia, sis Monica and India will be disgusted with her to say it blantly:giggling:lipsis wrote:Yea that leg grip always bothered me. Catherine was a lady. She didnt do that in the ocean after snorkeling or in the FS pool. (at least not that we saw)Iploeg wrote:As much Sean and Lindsay loved to kiss, I couldn't help but notice even back when his season was airing, how much he gushed about Catherine more than he did any of the other girls.
Jeez, how often did Lindsay spread her legs around him while her bikini...with her butt raised? :Embarressed!:It must take lots of nerves to be able to do certain things on national tv.

Re: Sean Lowe & Catherine Giudici - Bachelor 17 - General Discussion
Here are my thoughts on the LOWES' meetings with the girls.
1. I don't think the Lowes where clued in as to who Sean was going to pick before they met both girls. I think the producers only allowed Sean to open up to them after their meeting with both girls( makes for good tv). I do know however that Shay visited Sean in st.Croix and was definitely filled in on the truth about where Sean was at in the process off camera. Sean must have told Shay about all the 6 girls he took to st.Croix and of the 4 whose parents he intended to meet hence the refrence to the wedding gown at MTP.
2. I believe they could tell from the body language who Sean was in love with at that point. I don't believe even for a second that his family members, knowing how close they are, were unable to notice the difference in his demeanor around both girls.
3. I think again because of Cat's morals, she was reserved with her display of affection towards Sean in the presence of his family. This could have probably made Sherry question her intentions but I am sure Sean was able to calm her fears, but just not on camera.

Also when Sean sitting with Lindsay in her suite you could see the space between them and it Sean did nothing about it. But when Catherine left a space when she sat down Sean asked her to move closer to him. Lindsay reached out to kiss Sean and he was sitting in the corner like he did not want to be bothered.akinitohoy wrote:I agree 100%. Sean's body language with Cat is so obvious compared to his dates with Lindsay.blessed66 wrote:When you look at MTP Sean and Catherine body language was off the chats, no space at all in between them and when you look at him with Lindsay a cushion was separating them. When you listen to Sean's father talking to Catherine he almost said when Sean marries you and then he remembered that he was not supposed to say that and he changes to say if it is you that Sean marries. I really believe the family was very clear of his choice. Also Catherine was the first to meet the parents since he want his family to have the first impression of the woman he was going to marry without being clouded by seeing Lindsay first. Just think of it Lindsay always had the first dates but when it comes to meet the parents Catherine was first. It is even advisable that when you go for interview if possible take the first slot because you set the standard. First impressions are always great. When Sean's spoke to Lindsay he said a general statement which was clearly not direct to her.
On the dates Sean is a very clear man, he always saved the best for last. If you move from one date to another you only clearly remember the last date. Sean want his date with Catherine to be fresh in his mind and never allowed it to be clouded by other dates.
I mean, that final date of Lindsay's down the river then to her suite then to that balloon/lantern thingy was so boring. You can tell, their conversations weren't exactly scintillating dialogue. For example, that silly game while they were on the raft going down the river, where she points at something excitedly..I was cringing in my seat as I was watching that. You can tell Sean was "soooo excited" NOT! Plus, you can tell with his body language when he arrived at her suite, the way he greeted her, and when he sat next to her, there was space between them.
Nothing compares to SeanCat's nerd games. Plus, when he arrived at Cat's suite, he was more into her. They sat right next to each other, close and he was always touching her. And of course, their conversations were more meaningful. None of the generic ones we see all the time between bachelors/bachelorettes.

Honestly the biggest clue of all in this process was that Catherine was given her LCD on Sean's birthday. I've often been tempted to tweet her the question if she knew ahead of time. Maybe I will someday. I remember seeing a picture of Sean with a birthday cake that I believe was in Thailand and maybe taken after the engagement. He was he only one in it for obvious reasons. That might be a good request for Elan, if he had any birthday pics.umngirl wrote:So true. I never forget about the fact that he could have spent his birthday with Lindsey, but instead spent it doing something on Cat's bucket list. I still wonder if they celebrated it at all with a cake or something.timfan wrote:I think cat got the elephant date because that day was Sean birthday and he wanted to spend it with cat

LMAO at the bolded because I thought the same thing. I cringed throughout that whole date and moreover I was unspoiled. And then to hear Lindsay say she shared his sense of humor and goofiness just made the whole thing even worse. :giggle:akinitohoy wrote:I agree 100%. Re: Sean Lowe & Catherine Giudici - Bachelor 17 - General Discussion
I copied this from an old media thread. This is the telephone interview they did right after the finale with reporters. He is trying to explain his feelings at least to the public.
'The Bachelor' Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici interview
We still get a bit teary every time we think about Sean Lowe proposing to Catherine Giudici on last night's episode of The Bachelor! The couple have already promised to wed on television soon, too, so we're already getting excited all over again.
Sean and Catherine spoke with reporters earlier today, so read on to find out what they had to say about their relationship, their wedding plans and Sean's upcoming appearance on Dancing with the Stars...
Sean, how did you go from not knowing whether to propose to being certain? And was your mom's concern maybe a sign you shouldn't propose?
Sean: "I think my issue going into that last week was separating my feelings of being in love with Catherine and my feelings of loving Lindsay. I loved the person that she was and that took a while to kind of separate and straighten out in my head, and luckily there at the end I did receive the clarity that I'd been looking for and I just knew, 'Catherine, I'm in love with her and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with her'. I didn't share those same feelings with Lindsay, though I truly loved the great person that she is."
Catherine, how did you feel finding out that Sean hadn't come to a decision until a few hours before he proposed?
Catherine: "I accepted and I understood what I was getting myself into from the first night, and I don't fault him for having feelings for multiple women - that's what the show was about, trying to find your true partner. So knowing that he was conflicted, that doesn't bother me, because the end result was he was in love with me."
Catherine, what was the deal with the dresses you and Lindsay wore for the final rose ceremony? Were you told to wear metallic gowns?
Catherine: "That's actually really funny, because I was talking to the stylist yesterday. It's just that we have very similar styles, I guess - that just happened to be a coincidence. We had a lot to choose from and we just landed on the same thing. For me, my choice was because of the scene. Thailand is very opulent and I wanted to just partner up with the scene that we were in."
What was the time period between the proposal and last night's show? How much were you able to get together and communicate?
Catherine: "We finished filming right before Thanksgiving so we've been waiting since then to be public. It's been difficult to keep a secret like that but we stayed true to our relationship and kept in contact every day and then got to see each other every couple of weeks in LA."
What's the nerdiest thing you've done together?
Catherine: "He calls me a nerd. I would like to say I'm a dork, but we do nerdy things for sure."
Sean: "She quotes Harry Potter all the time."
Catherine: "I never quote Harry Potter! He's lying! I never quote Harry Potter! I don't know, I think that multiplication contest in Thailand was pretty nerdy. We did a hula hooping contest!"
One of the sweetest things about your relationship was your notes to each other - do you still write those?
Catherine: "Oh yeah. Notes are really important for me to express to him that I'm thinking about him all the time. They're really small so he can take them round wherever he wants, and I think that that's really special to our relationship and I'm doing them as much as I can."
Catherine, you said you were sceptical of The Bachelor at first. Why?
Catherine: "I was sceptical about truly falling in love with somebody, because it's such an unnatural experience. But I obviously shattered those pretty quickly, those scepticisms, and found the man of my dreams."
Sean, how did your mom react when you told her you were engaged?
Sean: "She was really excited. I actually called her while we were still in Thailand and told her. She was excited. I think she was nervous and stressed out because she didn't really comprehend what my feelings truly were for either girl. She just wants the best for her son and that's why she said, 'Maybe you shouldn't choose either one'. She just didn't want me to make a mistake that I would regret and I think it's clear to her now that I didn't make a mistake, and she's really happy."
Were you nervous about announcing your wedding plans so early in your relationship?
Catherine: "No, I don't think we were nervous to announce that, just because we're really serious about it and we want everyone to know that we're thinking about it honestly. And I don't think that any other opportunities are really going to get in our way to having that big day for us."
Why did you decide to televise the wedding? Is it to share it with the fans?
Sean: "Yeah. I mean, we thought it was only fitting. Our relationship started and it was formed on TV and the world had the chance to watch it be cultivated on TV. We think it would be a special thing to have it televised. Everyone associated with the show we've grown very close to, and they would obviously produce the wedding as well, so I think it would be fun and it would be nice and it would be really cool to enjoy that experience with all of our friends and family."
Have you figured out if Chris Harrison will be officiating yet?
Sean: "I doubt Chris will be officiating only because my dad is an ordained minister, my grandfather's a minister - there's a lot of ministers in line that might supersede Chris Harrison!"
People seemed to fall in love with your father, Sean! Did you expect that? And did he give you any good advice?
Sean: "My dad, he's the sweetest man in the world so it doesn't surprise me that he stole the show. He stole the show when Emily came to Dallas - I remember seeing Twitter blow up back then and everyone commenting on how loving and sincere and what a great dad he seems to be, so it's not shocking at all. And the cool thing about my dad is he wasn't there to give me advice - he was there to support his son. And he knows the man that I am and he knows I'm going to make the decision that's best for me, and he wasn't looking to give me instruction or advice or anything like that. That's who he is and that's why he's such a great dad."
Catherine, the family fell in love with you too! Are you excited about becoming a part of the Lowe family?
Catherine: "I just saw a glimpse of his family and the love and fun that they shared during Emily's season - when I met them in person it was even better. I had an instant connection with all of them and it makes me so excited to get to know them further and know that they're completely supportive of our relationship and so many memories are to come."
Catherine, you talked on the show about how your dad is out of the country. Will he be at the wedding?
Catherine: "Absolutely. He will be walking me down the aisle. I love him so much. I said a lot of personal things on the show, and I just wanted to reiterate the fact that he is such a part of my life and I love him so much and I'm excited for him to be part of the wedding."
What's the biggest surprise you've learned about each other since the show ended?
Catherine: "I think that just spending more time with him in a different spot - he's just so relaxed and so comfortable and we just have a blast together. We're just goofballs and that really didn't change. I don't know what other things I didn't know about him before, but yeah, we just got to hang out together and that was the best thing."
Sean: "If I've learned anything, it's just how incredibly passionate Catherine is and how much she wants to love me, and I couldn't ask for anything more in a potential wife. I think I'm growing more and more in love with her as each day passes, and hopefully that never stops. I think some people have the fear after filming's over that things might not be the same or you might not have those feelings of love after you get away from the exotic destinations and so forth, but that's certainly not true in our case."
Sean, during the show you said that you're not looking for fame - you just want a happy life with your wife. How does that tie in with you doing Dancing with the Stars?
Sean: "You know, I've always said that I'm not looking for fame - in fact, I don't like the fame aspect of being the Bachelor or being on Dancing with the Stars. I can't go out in Dallas with my buddies anymore because I'm left taking pictures the whole night because people recognize me and they want to take pictures! I don't want the fame, but when an opportunity like Dancing with the Stars comes along it's too good to pass up. It's going to be an incredibly unique challenge. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I wouldn't have taken it had Catherine not been okay with it. She was the first person I called, she is fully supporting me, she is in my corner. She's going to be on this crazy ride with me. I'm a person that loves to try new things and step outside my comfort zone and that's what I'm doing with Dancing with the Stars."
How do you think being on Dancing with the Stars will affect your relationship in the coming weeks or months?
Sean: "I don't think it's going to affect it too much to be honest with you. We have put in a lot of time learning how to dance, but that's normally five hours a day or so, so I still have a lot of time on my hands, and that will allow me and Catherine to explore LA together and be normal, go on dates, and just do simple things like that that we've been wanting to do for so long."
Catherine: "Yeah - I'm excited to explore the city. I know I'm going to try and find something for myself so we can both share our experience together, and I'm excited for him and for us and what this is going to do for our relationship in a positive way."
Sean, what are you most excited for and most nervous about when it comes to Dancing with the Stars?
Sean: "I'm most nervous about making a fool of myself on live television and also just going blank right before performing our dance - that's a fear of mine. But I'm excited just to learn something that is so completely foreign to me and to really accept this challenge and to give it everything I have. And I'm competitive - I want to win, and I know my partner Peta's the same way. So we're going to put in as much time and effort as it takes to make sure that we're the best."
Catherine, will we be seeing you in the audience?
Catherine: "Yeah, of course. I want to spend as much time as I can with him and I am his biggest fan, so I'll be front and center cheering him on, and Peta of course."
Is this like a warm-up for your wedding dance?
Sean: "Absolutely. I think we might have one of the best wedding dances of all time once this thing is all said and done!"
Lots of Bachelors and Bachelorettes have come before you but haven't made it - what makes this different?
Sean: "We've always said that we don't pay attention to the track record of past Bachelor and Bachelorettes. We know what we have, we know what our relationship is, and that's good enough for us. We don't have to justify it - we're happy with who we are and what we have and that's all we need."

Sean: "We've always said that we don't pay attention to the track record of past Bachelor and Bachelorettes. We know what we have, we know what our relationship is, and that's good enough for us. We don't have to justify it - we're happy with who we are and what we have and that's all we need."

Re: Sean Lowe & Catherine Giudici - Bachelor 17 - General Discussion
Here is the picture of Sean with his birthday cake in Thailand. He is wearing the same tee as in his night date with Catherine. Hard to tell if it was the same day or after the engagement. I would question if Cat was there since this appears to be a public place. Who knows.

"We would obviously be married, I hope. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a kid involved in five years." "And we would be happy!" ~ Catherine (Giudici) Lowe

These are my favourite parts of that interview :)

Could this have been in between the two parts of the date? Before he went to her room for the evening? It appears to still be light out.lipsis wrote:Here is the picture of Sean with his birthday cake in Thailand. He is wearing the same tee as in his night date with Catherine. ^^^ I was wondering that too. We didnt see them eat on their date so Sean may have had dinner with the crew. One would think they'd had been busy with other things though. Like I said, who knows! Nice to know the kid got a cake for his last twenty-something birthday.

This is the Wetpaint article that accompanied the picture.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]We were a little worried — with all the excitement of wrapping up filming for The Bachelor and, you know, PICKING HIS FUTURE WIFE — that Sean Lowe’s birthday may have gone uncelebrated this weekend. Well, of course we celebrated, but you know what we mean. Thankfully, Sean got to ring in his 29th year the right way: with chocolate cake.
What a relief! We can’t help but wonder, though... that’s an awfully big cake and there is an overturned teacup to Sean’s right (our left). Could he be seated next to his new future bride?

Re: Sean Lowe & Catherine Giudici - Bachelor 17 - General Discussion
I have to admit that ever since the Finale I have been obsessed when figuring out when he knew and whether he really was that conflicted. I think his head was conflicted but his heart never was. He was such an in the moment guy all season that it is almost like the last person he was with is the one he thought he liked the best. I do believe he was in love with Catherine for a while and she was the one he was talking about with Chris Harrison before the F-3 rose ceremony and he definitely says things to her and acts differently with her than he does with Lindsey or any of the other girls.
I think his heart knew that he was in love with her but he did really like Lindsey too. So after spending time with Lindsey his head would get confused again as he really was having a hard time differentiating between being in love and loving who the person was. At the beginning of Catherine's LCD he says he was stressed out because he had fallen in love with Lindsey but he was in love with Catherine also. He was in love with Catherine before the date started and felt like he was in love with Lindsey after her date was over. I do believe that clarity(his head finally lining up with his heart), began to come on Catherine's LCD date. He told Lindsey on the AFTR that by the end of that date he knew it was Catherine. I think as he looks back months later he realizes that it really was never that close thus his statement the other day about packing his bags!
I will quote my favorite JP Rosenbaum line again because I think it applies to Sean as well "She may love both of us but she can only be in love with one of us."
