I always wondered why Catherine met the parents first but had the last date. JP on Ashley's season was the same. You make a good point Blessed about him wanting them to meet the One first. I do wonder if they had an agreement within the family that they would meet the One first. Date wise he saved the best for last!

One of the things that I remember was Sean saying early on ... I believe it was in an interview before he even started taping the show ... was that he liked to do the chasing. He wanted a woman to give him the sign that she was interested and then he would proceed from there. Lindsey never did that. From that first moment out of the limo she kissed him. Same thing later that night. She was clearly drunk and again tried to kiss him. He politely rebuffed her. That always stuck in my mind. Even though, later on he became very fond of her, it always kind of reminded me of an adult fondly indulging a young child. All the hotter stuff ... like that leg wrap ... was initiated by her (after a producer whispered in her ear, no doubt).

Sean admitted that he nearly sent Lindsey home that first night. I don't for a moment doubt that producers induced him to keep her. There were certain women that he just had no connection to (ie. 50 shades of gray). There were those who he was attracted to right off the bat ... Cat, Tierra, Ashlee ... and then there were the matter of time ones. I believe they either had her (and her general father), as true possibles for Sean or in mind for the next Bette. They were probably surprised that he wasn't into her but told him they really thought they might be a good match and give her a chance. I don't know if Sean ever truly got over that first impression and I think the fact that she really initiated a lot of their kissing during the season just subtly reinforced his initial impression. Cat was the opposite. He thought he was in the friend zone and was worried that she wasn't into him! While everyone else was chasing after him, he was chasing after her. Ages ago, someone posted to just watch who the lead chased and for Sean it was Cat.

I think Lindsey was the type of woman he was used to dating, Ashlee was the type of woman who he thought he should date/marry and Catherine was the type he realised he needed and couldn't live without. I think his heart knew it by Canada (if not after that first kiss in the mansion driveway), but he is a sincere guy and wanted to logically sort it all out in his head before coming to a conclusion. Once that was all clear in his mind, it was game over and you could see the switch in his body language during/after the FDs. It was like he couldn't stand to touch Ashlee and Linsey. I'm sure watching it all back he realised how different he was when speaking about Catherine and how he behaved with her... I never want to leave Catherine, she gets me, I can be myself with her, she brings out the nerdy side of me and then all the touching! The man couldn't stop looking at her, touching her hair and smoothing it back, little affectionate kisses to the temple, cheeks, forehead, etc. I bet looking back at it now he realises he was a goner long before his head sorted it all out to match his heart.

It is hard to know what exaclty was said since they edit the show to give us little hints without giving away the game...although for me, this was like Ashley and JP, and you just couldn't hide who was the one. They may have said the same things/asked the same question of both women, but we were only shown what they wanted us to see.

I think the family fear might have been if the woman (no matter who), was as sincere as they knew Sean to be and that she wasn't in the Bachelor bubble. (Jay pretty much asked Cat that during their one on one time). I'm sure Sean filled them in about how producers manipulate things so I think that may have worried them.

The Lowe's are a close bunch. Even if they were never told which woman it was, I would think knowing Sean so well, they could tell by the body language and how he spoke to and about Cat, that she was the one. Hell, I've never even met the man and it was crystal clear!!!

I think cat got the elephant date because that day was Sean birthday and he wanted to spend it with cat

Very good points on what Jay and Sherry both said to Catherine. I never really thought about it. Plus, I never watch the Lindsay portions of the finale so didnt realize she wasn't asked those questions.

Why do you guys think Sherry got so upset if Sean wasn't as confused as he was letting on?

She knew how the show worked/manipulated from Sean. She knows her son, she wants him to be happy and is worried that it is happening so fast and even if he thinks he is in love and sincere, the girl may not be. Not that she is intentionally decieving him, but in that manipulated bubble the producers create. I also think, for them a proposal very serious, sincere and only to be done once. (As it should be for everyone, but we know that is not necessarily how it works on this show.) I really think she saw how serious Sean was and I think it was unexpected and became very emotional as it is for most parents once they see that their child is about make that big step. I think part of it was happiness that he was in love and part of it was just fear of what would happen and wanting to protect her little boy!

I agree 100%. Sean's body language with Cat is so obvious compared to his dates with Lindsay.
I mean, that final date of Lindsay's down the river then to her suite then to that balloon/lantern thingy was so boring. You can tell, their conversations weren't exactly scintillating dialogue. For example, that silly game while they were on the raft going down the river, where she points at something excitedly..I was cringing in my seat as I was watching that. You can tell Sean was "soooo excited"  NOT! Plus, you can tell with his body language when he arrived at her suite, the way he greeted her, and when he sat next to her, there was space between them.

Nothing compares to SeanCat's nerd games. Plus, when he arrived at Cat's suite, he was more into her. They sat right next to each other, close and he was always touching her. And of course, their conversations were more meaningful. None of the generic ones we see all the time between bachelors/bachelorettes.

This is just my think, Sherry was not upset but she was worried because she was wondering if Sean was making the right decision because if you look at Lindsay talk with Sherry she was trying too much. On the other hand Catherine was a nervous which is a normally reaction when one is meeting the possible in-laws for the first time. Catherine was really genuine and she wasn't trying to hard like Lindsay. The reason I say this is I think one we did not see everything between Sean and Sherry's conversation because the respond that Sean gives his mother is you have only see 20minutes. I believe Catherine's visit was more than 20minutes and I am convinced that Lindsay was shorter. ABC is trying to make a sure and if Lindsay had lunch we could have seen it since they were trying to make us guess. For me the visit was very clear that Sean wanted his family to spend more time with Catherine.

So true. I never forget about the fact that he could have spent his birthday with Lindsey, but instead spent it doing something on Cat's bucket list. I still wonder if they celebrated it at all with a cake or something.
