I agree 100%. Sean's body language with Cat is so obvious compared to his dates with Lindsay.
I mean, that final date of Lindsay's down the river then to her suite then to that balloon/lantern thingy was so boring. You can tell, their conversations weren't exactly scintillating dialogue. For example, that silly game while they were on the raft going down the river, where she points at something excitedly..I was cringing in my seat as I was watching that. You can tell Sean was "soooo excited"  NOT!  Plus, you can tell with his body language when he arrived at her suite, the way he greeted her, and when he sat next to her, there was space between them.  

Nothing compares to SeanCat's nerd games. Plus, when he arrived at Cat's suite, he was more into her. They sat right next to each other, close and he was always touching her. And of course, their conversations were more meaningful. None of the generic ones we see all the time between bachelors/bachelorettes.

So true!! Do you remember when Lindsay and Sean were talking about what they would be like when they grow old? Lindsay said "do you think you'll shrink down to my size?" Sean said "go from 6'3" to 5'3". And Lindsay responded with "I'm 5'1" and kind of laughed it off. I believe I've heard Catherine say she was 5'3". So clearly he was even thinking about Catherine during his date with Lindsay.

I still find it hard to believe Sean did not know who he was going to pick prior to the proposal.  At that late stage, you usually KNOW and I can't blame his mom for being so concerned.  He seemed so conflicted and made is seem like it was so close when it seems obvious to all of us, that Catherine was THE ONE.  

Cat is very articulate and wanted to share her painful past so that Sean would know everything about her.  Lindsay only wanted to kiss him.  Their relationship just was not deep and it seems Sean was only physically attracted to her.  His little gestures of always kissing Cat's head, rubbing her arm, patting her leg all show his adoration for her.  He HAD to know she was the one.  I don't think he would outright lie to his mother about being conflicted but I can't help thinking he knew very well who he loved.

I guess we'll never know exactly what was going on in his head.  But he does seem like he grew very close to the crew and spent time with them in the control room and such and must've had a big input in what was going on in the show.  Curious to know how much they discussed how the show should play out and how much more exciting it would be to have conflict instead of making it too obvious.

Oh well, there are things we will never know.  But to this day, I still can't understand how Lindsay made it that far.  From that first episode I thought she was OUT.  Surprised me she was F2.  Just didn't see the connection.

By the way, I think Cat's habit of rubbing her nose with an open palm is so funny.  lol

He told Lindsey on the AFTR that by the end of that date he knew it was Catherine.  I think as he looks back months later he realizes that it really was never that close thus his statement the other day about packing his bags!

I will quote my favorite JP Rosenbaum line again because I think it applies to Sean as well "She may love both of us but she can only be in love with one of us."

I've been hoping that in time Sean will reveal the truth of what his (thought) process really was all season especially going into the final weeks. So I was happy when at Des' AFTR he admitted his major problem was SENDING girls home, but that he always knew Cat was on the other side waiting for him. For him to have said that with Lindsay and co. seated right next to him tells me he felt the timing was right to set the record straight. I think Sean played along with the storyline knowng tptb has a show to produce and kept his cards very close to his chest.

The one thing Sean has said about dating so many women at once (and Des confirms that he did this well and she tried to do it as well- and probably succeeded with Chris) is that he tried to keep each relationship separate- which acknowledges that each woman is distinct and therefore the relationships would track differently. The f4 are the ones who progressed beyond the friend zone. But each date he would go to that particular relationship's next step. So with Catherine, it was slowly building friendship and then, I believe, getting hit with the passion. But being with Catherine was (and probably still is) like peeling an onion- there are layers which are more and more complex. But I believe there's also a lot to Sean (and certainly more than we've all witnessed on TV and in interviews- and I think Catherine is just as interested in finding all his layers, too.

Whereas with Lindsay it was first getting past night one, but quickly into a little flirty, making out relationship, filled in a little later with some substance. Those who wrote about Lindsay pursuing Sean more than he did her... yes- I believe that's true. And AshLee was just looking at the end point, and I think when Sean finally envisioned that with her he said, "Nope.".

Because of extreme humidity in Thailand, Catherine was probably perspiring especially the nose area. She used the palm of her to wipe the wetness of her nose and also her face. I do experience the same thing with extreme high humidity.

Sean told Lindsay on the ATFR that after their LCD he knew it was Catherine. She asked if she did something wrong during that date, and he said no, he just had clarity. IMO he knew before that LCD date with Lindsay, but didn't want to tell her that.

If you watch the LCD between Sean and Catherine, his love for her is written all over his face. The way he looks at her is different than the way he ever looked at any other girl, even Catherine up to this point. He can't hide it during this date, because he now knows that she is the woman he is going to marry. Every time he looks at her, he looks smitten, or has puppy dog eyes or an intense look. Not only that, but it's the touches, the leg, the arm, the hair, the behind, he cannot stop touching her.

When he tells her at the end of the night that he can picture their life together, his voice is really tender and loving. When he tells her it was one of the best days of his entire life, you can tell it's true. And then when she's talking about her hope for a proposal, the way he is looking at her is the way a man looks at a woman that he is in love with.

Also, there is a part of that date, where Cat is pouring her heart out to him, and this very edited show then has a clip of Sean talking about how much it means to him that Catherine opened up to him and he says "It just melted my heart." And then he says the only thing holding him back is Lindsay is still in the picture. IMO this was his response to Catherine's, "I Love You Sean." They didn't want us to know that was his response, because then we would know he loved her too. But I don't think he was talking about her opening up about wanting a proposal, I really think he meant that his heart melted when she told him those words and he didn't want to say it back until Lindsay was out of the picture and it was just the two of them. And that's because Sean is a gentleman and an honorable man with integrity.

Great post as always. I agree with your last paragraph about the timing of when he talked about it melting his heart. I think it was after her I love you. The part about Lindsey was a VO which i am not convinced he said st that time. There are several times in that episode that he talks about Catherine and that same VO is then inserted.

I really like this post. Love the way he was with Cat during the LCD. He couldn't say he loves her but he showed her in action. Cat said during the ATFR that she could feel the love from Sean even though he didn't say it.

This is little bit off topic but I found this quote in one of the old threads. This was from a radio interview Sean did in late January or early February. He was asked about Catherine and this was his answer. He used the word immediately when talking about his attraction.

"Catherine is someone who I had never really dated in my past. She is obviously beautiful but she is a little quirky and a little weird and she would call herself “nerdy”. I never really dated a girl like that so I was drawn to her immediately just because she has a great sense of humor, she is a little out there, she doesn’t care what other people think about her and she is very confident in who she is, which I find to be very sexy.”

That engulfing hug he gave her at the door as he was leaving said it all.
