I would have said I am sorry if I upset anyone with my comment but the "sloppy seconds" comment pretty much proved my point. There is no need to even point out that Brooks was never intimate with Des. I am sorry that some are taking this so hard. Once she allowed herself to be vulnerable, she found the person who truly had her back and who was there for her. Remember he said he wants to be her first and her last. Never heard any seconds mentioned.

If you wanted to apologize you could, we aren't imploding, but it's ok. Most of us have been wishing Des and Chris well, in spite of what happened between Des and Brooks. I personally didn't believe her complete turnaround in 5 days, but outside of the show, they seem to be doing really well. I read the comments in the other thread, and to perpetuate certain things not in evidence doesn't seem very classy in my opinion. What would have been unclassy is Brooks feeling the way he did, but taking advantage of the FS anyway. I don't think his not going to the FS meant anything other than he knew he wasn't ready for that step in their relationship nor a marriage proposal. Brooks had said he felt like he was a frontrunner, so I'm sure he thought ahead to what that could mean in the FS. JMO.

Well I am happy Brooks followed his gut and heart with this whole thing. It sucks he didn't love Des like she loved him but he did the right thing. I think if they had more time and weren't in such a vacuum things would have possibly been different. He would have time to truly develop his feelings.

As for Des and Chris, the fact that they are basically ignoring the Brooks thing is incredibly worrying and I don't think they will make it at all. You can't ignore such a big issue like that. Brooks was it for Des and he was for most of the show. She was completely in love with him and you don't go from that to a few days later saying you love someone else. It doesn't work that way. The problem I noticed with Des was she really wanted someone to love her. She is always the one who loves but doesn't get loved back and it happened again with Brooks so here is Chris who is in love with her so she accepts it because someone does love her for once even though she is still in love with someone else. It is clear to me based on the After and the interviews that she still loves Brooks and is still deeply hurt by it. She can't be happy with Chris until she resolves this first and then actually grows to love Chris because she doesn't right now imo. She has settled while still torn up over another guy. You can't enter into a marriage with this being the case. And Chris has just completely ignored the huge elephant in the room, the fact that he was a second choice and that Des is in love with another guy. They are not being honest with themselves and each other AT ALL so how in the world are they going to make it? They are going to have to deal with it sometime.

Maybe they can get to a point where Des can let go of Brooks and she can fall in love with Chris and they can move forward and be happy but that can't happen until they acknowledge the truth.

I wish all parties involved the best.

I kind of think that Chris agreeing to not watch Des's journey with Brooks was a trade-off, with her agreeing to move to Seattle in exchange for his not watching.

I can't imagine the questions Chris's family and friends will have about this engagement. That's going to be tough to overcome when literally millions were watching. But they still probably have just as good a chance as any other couple coming out of this circus.

Happy Brooks can have his life back now, and I feel like he came out of this looking good. He and Des seemed to have a good rapport, but for him it didn't extend past friendship. Wish the best for him.

I think we could all use some good news!

Here is mine:

I'm expecting a baby girl in February! I will just say that she was conceived around the same time Brooks' and Des' first date was aired. :Hugesmile:just sayin'

first... love and congratulations to agentcurls on the baby girl.  I have a grand niece named Brooke, so... I wish you all the health and stamina you will need to get thru the next months. babies are blessings and proof that life and love is the most important thing, proof of a higher power's love in my book. my prayers are with you and your family as you build your nest.

now that all being said... I have never been so proud of any one more than I am of Brooks Forester.  he has handled all the questions and dribble with such dignity and grace. when he finds that girl that melts his heart and jumbles his brain, we are going to see fireworks from him. I only wish we could all have a front seat to see that happen, but I bless the ground he walks on for not considering the bachelor. I am all over this series, doubt seriously I will watch JuanP. my heart continues to break for Des and Chris... I don't think they understand what a tangled web they are in by not being truthful and upfront. as difficult as hearing the truth might be, it is the only way, by putting it on the back burner it will just simmer and soon boil over. it was obvious to me last night that there are still feelings between Des and Brooks, and just like another couple that hooked me from the start, I believe those feelings will stay there no matter where life leads them.

well, I will hush my mouth now, and wait for Love_me or San to send me on my way.  enjoy your time here just in case that really happens. I think this is one of my favorite sayings and it is so apropos on this board...

 Love the saying.  I agree even though a lot of people won't. there is a strong connection still there between Des and Brooks.  It stills breaks my heart to think what could have been.

Brooks.  Why couldn't he just force his heart to love her! He should've consulted Desiree on how to force your heart to do something. (Overlooking the fact that in some ways they're just not compatible).

I meant to post a reply and I started a new topic, hope they can clean that up.

Anyway, what I posted was that it looked like he was trying to see if she had a ring just before he sat down on AFTR, and she spent most of the time he was there looking like she was trying to hide it.
