I saw an interview that CH did after the season and he talked about how Brooks knew at the date in Madiera that he wasn't feeling it with Des. Maybe CH is giving Brooks a hard time for not calling it quits earlier and giving someone else a chance to continue if that option was available.Adele1117 wrote:I just watched Brooks' portion of the ATFR again. He was nervous. He looked good. He's charming. He's nice. He's honest. I love how he talks, still. They did go off again. They interact well, but I think that has a lot to do with Brooks. I just think he's probably pretty easy to interact with. You could tell she still likes him a little, but she always will. Those feelings don't go away completely and can be brought up again. She didn't like him for no reason. She'll always be predisposed to like him a little. But I do believe she understands she has to move on and she'll make a life with Chris.
Brooks is the champion here, the strong one, the smart one, to realize that things weren't working out and get out of it. She says in her interview that she doesn't know for sure if she would've picked Brooks or not at the end if he hadn't left, but I'm glad Brooks took the initiative and got out. It makes him look good.
I don't see why CH would still have it out for Brooks. It's unfair to Brooks. He doesn't deserve to be treated that way. It did make me like CH less and is probably one of the reasons my like of the show has been dampened. Brooks is the straw that broke the camel's back because I really like Brooks. I also like Jef, but right after the show I lost interest in him and in following what he does much, so I know I wasn't that interested in him, but I can see always being interested in what Brooks is doing. So, they way they've treated him has determined how I feel about the show a little.

Brooks was the one who messed everything up when he left when he did, but I don't think he could've left any earlier because like he told Desiree, he didn't know until after his HTD.

It probably took all his will not to just scream "It isn't me!" I said it a few times last night and will again, he is my favorite person to ever come on this show. As a Bres diehard, his decision was heartbreaking but when I think about it in a real life, human situation, that is the bravest thing I think I've ever seen on this show. It hurt for that to happen and watch but then again if he had just gone along with it all and gotten engaged to Des for the sake of it and for the "win" then the breakup later on would have been that much worse for fans. I will always love and enjoy the Bres moments we did get even if it didn't end like we had hoped/thought and I believe whole heartedly that those moments were real and genuine for both Brooks and Des.

I think maybe he waited because he kept stressing how important his families' opinion mattered. Maybe he needed to first see how it went with his family. He said in his press conference that he didn't really realize until they started asking him the tough questions that he didn't want to ask himself. That question about her all of sudden being out of his life would he miss her asked by his brother came to mind. Same reason why he ran to his family again in Idaho to give him the final support he needed to pull the plug.
Anyway, seems like a nice guy. Glad he ended it before the season resulted in yet another failed relationship.
He looks more then relieved to be done with it all in that picture.

I thought we could say and feel the way we wanted to here.lovinlife wrote:Why is everyone posting such petty things? I think you need to move on. She didnt pick Brooks and she is in love with Chris. She wanted a real man who could love her the way she deserves and it is just so ridiculous to read such juvenile postings. Do you think Des cares Brooks unfollowed her?

Remember, he thought she could just tell him and the show could edit it out. Desiree didn't, because she was scared it was scare him away.

As for Des and Chris, the fact that they are basically ignoring the Brooks thing is incredibly worrying and I don't think they will make it at all. You can't ignore such a big issue like that. Brooks was it for Des and he was for most of the show. She was completely in love with him and you don't go from that to a few days later saying you love someone else. It doesn't work that way. The problem I noticed with Des was she really wanted someone to love her. She is always the one who loves but doesn't get loved back and it happened again with Brooks so here is Chris who is in love with her so she accepts it because someone does love her for once even though she is still in love with someone else. It is clear to me based on the After and the interviews that she still loves Brooks and is still deeply hurt by it. She can't be happy with Chris until she resolves this first and then actually grows to love Chris because she doesn't right now imo. She has settled while still torn up over another guy. You can't enter into a marriage with this being the case. And Chris has just completely ignored the huge elephant in the room, the fact that he was a second choice and that Des is in love with another guy. They are not being honest with themselves and each other AT ALL so how in the world are they going to make it? They are going to have to deal with it sometime.
Maybe they can get to a point where Des can let go of Brooks and she can fall in love with Chris and they can move forward and be happy but that can't happen until they acknowledge the truth.
I wish all parties involved the best.

I think it takes a real man to be honest and genuine among all other qualities. We had a few not so real men on this season, but Brooks wasn't one of them. What happened with him and Des was as raw and real as what I've seen on this show. Broke my heart, too, for them both, but that took courage and ownership.MonicaJM2001 wrote:lovinlife wrote:Why is everyone posting such petty things? I think you need to move on. You were saying about petty? One could argue a real man doesn't play the role of sloppy seconds either.

Like who? I don't know how CH would actually know unless Brooks came out and told him, did he do that? I do recall Brooks saying something about Madeira to Des during the breakup I believe, but I was thinking it was favorable feelings, not unfavorable. I'll have to go back and watch again, but I'm not sure I'm up to that.Aunties_Love wrote:I saw an interview that CH did after the season and he talked about how Brooks knew at the date in Madiera that he wasn't feeling it with Des. Anything I post means it's Just My Opinion. Don't feel like posting it every time I post. So, I thought I'd get that out of the way.

I agree with you. It shows that she's not over him and probably never will be completely. There's always that one guy. However, Brooks is the happy guy who is over it and I'm so glad for him. I'm glad for all of them that this season is over. Brooks looked happier and happier as the finale got closer.

I was never completely convinced that Brooks was the F1. I can always count on my gut feeling and it was telling me something else. I really started to have a sinking feeling the night before and it never went away.
I don't know why he unfriended Desiree, but I'm glad he did. Brooks is right in the head. He does the right things. He makes smart decisions and he's honest. It is better not to follow her and it's better not to go to her wedding. I like Brooks for being real. He always has been.
I think he unfriended Des out of respect for Chris because they are engaged. But he still follows Chris.
