Seeing that picture and what Michael wrote I think he did go to Florida and the cruise to get away from the cameras so he could live his normal life for the moment as the non-eff-one he couldn't wait to be in public.

agentcurls They didn't let you guys ask him anything?  No way to even take pics with him?

He was shuffled off that stage so quick! They simply did not want to spend any more time on Brooks than they needed to. The more time with Brooks, the less believable the Chris/Des relationship would've seemed.

 Makes you really think this was a total save-face, manufactured relationship, like JK hinted.

I pretty much agree with the sentiment here, Des settled. I like all of the final 4 or 5 guys so I'm not saying that because I wanted anyone to "win". It was OBVIOUS how much she was into Brooks. I just don't get how Chris can bury his head in the sand (by not watching the Brooks scenes) and be okay. Maybe they have talked enough since the show has been airing and worked things out. I really hope it works out for them.

There was one exchange last night between CH and Brooks; don't remember exactly what they were talking about, but possibly about Brooks being wishy-washy or not being able to make a decision. I sensed a irritation from Brooks towards CH's comment - Brooks said something like "yeah, Thanks". I was glad to see him defend himself to CH if only that little bit. If anyone should be called wishy-washy, it's Des going from telling two men within two days that she loves them. I like her, but think she should have told Chris lets date.

Were you there? I don't remember seeing that on the show.

I'm GLAD he stood up for himself! I guess they will never be fast friends.

I wanted this to end with a real love story and I'm so disappointed. The change in Brooks from the end of his HTD (closer to the union of marriage than he had ever been before, didn't want her to go, I've missed you ,where have you been all my life) to breaking up with Des was shocking. Even more shocking was Des accepting Chris' proposal after all that she said about Brooks..... if he proposed that day she would say yes....she was so conflicted because she wanted to give her heart to Brooks...every date she went on she wanted it to be a date with Brooks. Makes no sense, we are talking about days from being crushed to accepting a proposal from someone else.

Maybe she didn't see any other way out, what was she supposed to do? Sean let her go, Brooks left her...could she walk away empty handed? How humiliating. This was not the love story I wanted for her and wanted to see. It's very sad.

Wanting Brooks to be the next Bachelor is kind of like wanting him to realize he made a mistake and come back and to propose to her.  We want it because we are fans of his but it goes against what we like so much about him.  I don't think he would be able to date all those women and God knows he would have a hard time breaking up with them!  

I still don't get why he was sobbing so much when he broke up with her if he didn't love her though.

I agree I can understand him feeling bad and having a few tears but the was heart wretching. There was more there than what he even admitted to.

No, wish I was. I was working when I was watching it. I'll go back and re-watch. I just got the impression that CH was subtley making a jab at Brooks, and Brooks smiled and said "yeah, thanks". I'll try to find out what time that was. Maybe I'm wrong.

While Brooks was really attracted to Des, I'm starting too think she wasn't cerebral enough for him. I think he thought she was sweet and had a lot to offer, but I just can't help but see Brooks with a total brainiac. That's not to take away from Des, who is a lovely girl. But I don't think she was the whole package for Brooks, intellectually in particular.

I saw Chris sparkle. I did not see Des sparkle.
