Many people believe that is Brooks saying those things, and I agree, especially with the first. Also, the close up SC of him crying...why show that for starters, and why such a close up shot to basically hide everything since everyone knows he broke up with her, and was supposedly leaving.
His return is tied to what CH pointed out about HTDs, and specifically what questions his two brothers asked him. It will come full circle.
I also still wonder why Des made the comment about her AC hot tub moment with Brooks in her blog from an episode that did not show it. Why? Possibly to thwart hurt feelings when he would see her in the FD hot tub with Chris and begin imagining what could have/may have happened?
Today on GMA CH did not seem a fan of Brooks .
After all that was said last night hard to overcome quickly.Brooks took 3 weeks thinking about leaving and after HTDs knew he wanted to for sure. A sincere change of heart
On his love for her would take real time and distance AWAY from the situation - not a few days or a week while filming.
CH said there were " red flags" all season long about Brooks that Des chose to ignore and that he "did not reciprocate her feelings".

Turning down that time was obviously not a choice everyone would have made, but there was an internal consistency to it. He said that things are great when they're together but that he doesn't feel the same when they're apart. By that way of thinking, he would have thought that more time together wouldn't have given him more clarity. (Of course, he might have been wrong, especially as surprised as he seemed when Des said that she loved him.)Nativenewyorker wrote:albean99 wrote:BarbB222 wrote:halfpintdynamite wrote:agentcurls wrote:SusieQ wrote:I think he'll say he's come to the realization he loves her and will propose.
I think he's known it all along and just couldn't admit to himself. He is chock-full of defense mechanisms.
See my avi. He's an onion, and once the layers are stripped by Des, his heart is gonna come tumbling out.
Heya ac! I totally agree. That man doesn't even know he's in love - despite his total breakdown! That man is SO in love! I wish I had recorded it in close caption because I could hardly understand their dialog. I've always found Brooks hard to understand (his words), and tonight was worse than ever most of the time. Des WILL get her happy ending. There is no way she could pick Chris or Drew - she is totally in love with Brooks. And because she's an honorable woman, I don't believe for a minute that she would do that to either of them!
I have to admit that was a very draining and intense "date". Chris Harrison was right FOR THE FIRST TIME - it was the most dramatic episode by far that we've ever had on this show.
I am most sad for Drew because that man loved her with his soul, and I can see why he says "I don't get it!", totally stunned. As for Chris, I think he knows Des would not be happy in Seattle, and that's a tie-breaker for him, though Des will take him to F2. Sorry, Chris lovers, though he's a nice guy, he leaves me totally bored. And I'm sorry that MF has overused the poetry stuff, once was nice but this has been way overboard even for romantic me. Just my thoughts.

Watching Drew's and Chris' heartbreak next week will make me understand what Brooks wanted to avoid. He had no idea how Des felt. Some say it's better to have love and lost then to never have loved. Easy to say hard to live. Brooks might just be cautious that way. Who'd want to feel what Drew and Chris feel next week? Not me. Never do I want to feel that kind of rejection no matter the gamble. Also, NEVER do I want to be someone's second choice in one week. NEVER!
See I feel if he really did love Des (which he said he did not), he'd take the risk because she was worth it. I think he pulled out because he wasn't sure of his feelings but he wasn't willing to let it play out like CH suggested. I'd have been more impressed if he had.
albean,
That was what I found interesting regarding the bolded. At one point CH did suggest that he might want to take this time with the FD to be with Des and talk to her and sort out his feelings. He just put it out there! Exactly what some of us have been saying here. Why not take this precious alone time to at least give it a chance?

If Brooks couldnt find love in this Bubble, he may need way longer time in real world, IMO.

CHO wrote:What about Des' comment that what she thought she wanted was different than what she needed? Does she realize this at some point?
My thoughts on that are: she wanted a proposal at the end of this, but realized she need Brooks even though there would not have been a proposal.

Apparently the ring of the first guy at the FRC has his ring engraved with 'This is Forever'.
I can't remember where that came from, Wetpaint, maybe?
Yes. Only WetPaint has mentioned what the Final 2 guy's ring said... 'This is Forever', but both L & S and WetPaint show the same Final 1 ring.

I don't doubt that, but it will not be believable.

I watched GMA, and observed CH facial expressions. He did not say anything nice about Brooks, and pretty much sounded as though the goodbye was final. In fact he said that Brooks knew for 3 weeks that he wasn't feeling it. Des missed all the signs. This came out of nowhere for HER.
I knew Brooks wasn't feeling it during their dinner before HTD. It was written all over his face. I got attacked on this board by Brooks Fans, and accused of being a HATER. Geez people, grow up.
CH said that now Des will have to tell the other 2 about Brooks being gone, because they don't know. We will see if she can pick up the pieces and go on with the other 2....
Based on all this I'm not sure Brooks is coming back.

What I am not confident about is their status right now.

The thing is it would look really bad for her to bring Chris to the rose ceremony after all this. It's not a normal F2 scenario. If Brooks is back and IF she rejects his proposal, I will suspect it was producer driven to make Chris not look like a default. It just makes no sense for Chris to be at the FRC otherwise, unless she doesn't know that Brooks returns until after Chris proposes.
