Agree atem. Nothing new here at all. I see it merely as a misdirection from Brooks. They are trying to raise speculation and it's working. But that's just how I see it.
The one thing to me is that it confirms that Brooks tells her he is leaving and not just telling her "I can't propose" even if that is the reason he is leaving. The fact that he regrets it almost immediately goes with the screencaps of him crying. I still think he comes back and she takes him back. "I won't settle" means she won't accept a default F1 if her real F1 tries to redeem himself.
Remember that Des understands the process and the feelings of uncertainty that Brooks is feeling because of it.
She has said many times that she knows where Brooks is coming from. She also knows the manipulation the producers put them through. Those are factors in her taking him back.
(On another note, I have to tell you Cecilia, that my son and his wife just had a baby and named her Cecilia. Every time I see your posts, it makes me smile! :cutesmile!: )
Aww congrats, Bee. Enjoy her. ; ). The royal baby was born on my brothers birthday. : )

I remember a tweet on the screen during that episode and their date saying nearly the same thing. Was that you?Judiful wrote:LOL I said "Show's over, she's done on her first date. The freaking tabloids are about to have a hay day trying to destroy their character any which way they can.. It's despicable to me.
Don't worry. Who said it's Brooks who is F1?
She had butterflies going in, and afterward, didn't she say it was the best date ever?

Quote from Des featured in US,"I'm in a place in my life where I am so ready to get married and to find the right guy for me. I won't settle. It's all about timing."
More excerpts...The home town dates really threw things up in the air for Desiree, says the show insider. "She could definitely see spending her life with more than one of these guys, and she didn't want to make the wrong decision. There was no longer a clear front-runner."
Forester - the only man who had yet to declare his love - caught her eye at the start, "He's witty and sarcastic," she tell US. "And that hair". Recently ousted Zak W says "I never thought Brooks was a match"
For her part, Hartsock says his flaw is a tendency to overanalyze "That's why his emotions were always up and down."
Kenney, on the other had, was a slow starter who gained ground with Hartsock after the spent time with his family....He even told Hartsock he loved her three times in less than a minute on July 15th episode - proclamations that eliminated suitor Juan Paublo Galavis thought were "forcing it too much."
Of all the 25 suitors Seigfried alone never seem to waver (outwardly at least) in his devotion. "In every kiss, I truly mean that I love you", he wrote in one of many poems to Hartsock. She calls him "supportive, manly, romantic" though his mother worried that scars of his last relationship hadn't quite healed.
At least Antiqua wasn't a total bust. The fantasy suite action is "hot and heavy". One of the guys even had to ask the cameras to leave!"
Hartsock was circumspect when asked about her outcome. "I'm glad that I did the show and I'm in a place in my life where I'm good and happy. That's all I can say". Stay Tuned
thanks so much for posting this info, sfrank. I stumbled on the phrase in bold. If the mag and/or Des is saying she was no longer sure after the HTDs.... in contrast to what Des actually said after the HTDs with CH... it makes me feel like she's backtracking... and that Brooks is NOT her F1.
I think it's the show that's saying there was no front runner after HTD's coz can you only imagine how Chris and Drew must have felt knowing they were never really in the race.. Esp Chris if he's F2 and stayed true to her to the whole time....
So, if Brooks didn't get a FS date wonder which one she got so hot and heavy with? I don't believe the part about them having to ask the camera guy to leave... They leave anyway, on their own. : ( What they won't do or say to sell mags and get people to watch this show. LOL
I wouldn't be too sure. I remember them throwing something over the camera in the past.
I don't think the "ups & downs" comment necessarily points to Brooks because him leaving caused a lot of stress for Des and the other guys so really could be any of them.

Atem, OT, but has it been mentioned anywhere about MTP's dates or if they are even gonna have it this season. When do they normally put out the press release about it? I found it a little strange that it didn't get one single mention when they were talking about a 2 part finale.
The more I read the more badly I feel for Chris and Drew. I bet they feel used, abused and thrown away like they didn't mean a thing. Hopefully during the next 2 episodes it will show me I have no reason to feel this way and that they don't feel like fools. : (
I do however hope Des and Brooks have their happy ending.. It wouldn't surprise me if they ( if they ever do get married ) beat Sean and Cat getting married since I read those 2 have postponed getting married until next year. .

That won't be in the press release until after the episode on Monday. There will be a MTP.

SueSt wrote:cfck2222 wrote:sfrank, thanks for the US Weekly summary/scan!! I couldn't get to the newsstands today so I'm extra happy you did.
So let me get this straight: the producers' idea of great drama, the producers' idea of Brooks' tragic character flaw is.....that he doesn't feel comfortable proposing to Desiree within the context of this show, after like, 3 dates that took place while Desiree was dating other people? If that doesn't say everything about how upside down and backwards this show is, I don't know what will.
I don't blame Desiree for her part in this ridiculousness, though I think she's going to take some hits for buying into the show's party line on the issue of a proposal.
This all screams manufactured storyline to me. Now whether it was manufactured to milk max drama out of Brooks not being as into Desiree as she was him, or manufactured as the only thing that could spice up what has apparently been one of the most obvious F1 situations in show history remains to be seen.
From the excerpts sfrank has posted, they're making Chris sound like the ol' reliable, but not doing a whole lot to make a case for him as F1 for any other reason than being...there. As far as Desiree being torn, according to US Weekly a couple weeks ago, the hometown dates boosted Drew's case and it was between Brooks & Drew. Not Chris. Tabloids aren't that great at remembering what they said in previous issues, but the fact that Brooks & Drew are on the cover is supposed to tell us that either Brooks or Drew is the frontrunner who "rejects" Desiree. The "not settling" comment could be about Brooks, but it could refer to not settling for a guy who couldn't take the heat in the context of the show.
Now it makes sense to me why Life & Style came out with its "Yes! I'm Engaged!!!!!!" cover a week earlier than usual, with fewer details than usual. They were trying to undercut US Weekly's producer-sanctioned cover story this week, which is intended to feed the narrative that Desiree may end up alone. Seeing as this is US Weekly's 2nd Bach'ette cover in 4 weeks, with another secondary feature story mentioned on the cover in another week, it looks like Next Productions has in fact primarily been working with US Weekly this season, and less so Life & Style. That's a change. Next week's tabloid of choice will no doubt be focused on the epic battle for Desiree's heart and the happy ending.
* Disclaimer: My biases: haven't really watched this season but I find Drew to be the physically hottest (though the buying followers thing is lame), and I was just recently admiring Chris S's lovely hands and general attractiveness. The little I watched of this season was of Desiree and Brooks's 1st date, and I found myself thinking Brooks was really sweet and contemplative, though I also got the vibe he was a little bit unanchored in life and maybe has some buttons it would be easy for producers to push (neither of which is a major character flaw, because I ended up liking him and also think he's a good-looking guy). Also, any skepticism he may genuinely have had about proposing would make me like him more, not less.[/b]
Really thoughtful, post, cfck2222. Thanks.
Totally agree with the bolded. Chris, great guy, not memorable... probably going to be gone.
Also interesting comments on US Weekly vs. L&S... makes sense.
My god, Drew, whew! I mean maybe a little stiff on the outside, but molten on the inside - HOT!... and I'm guessing it's Drew that asks the cameras to leave.... since he sort of impresses me as a 'take charge' kind of guy... like he knows what he wants and he's going for it.... and he's going to protect their privacy.
Great post, Sue. I agree Drew is one hot tamale. ; )
One thing that stood out to me the most about the bolded where Chris is concerned is where they said that about him just being there. Sometimes that matters more than anything else on the earth. Sometimes that's the most important thing you could do for somebody.. Not saying in this case, but Brooks should know how much it means to Des ( or any woman) that somebody is there beside her and never leaves her side, since his dad left his mother so therefore left him when he was younger.
It breaks my heart that Chris is being so left out that he's looked at as one of the plants or one of the pretty flowers that you look at, but don't remember when you're telling what all you saw or did. Does that make any sense to you? LOL

Albean, do you think there's a chance it could be Drew or Chris that's F1 instead of Brooks? Too funny about throwing something over the camera. I thought they just left at a certain point during the night of the FS date. They really do want to get everything on film, don't they? LOL
