He discounted CH's attempt to lead him to considering perhaps more time with Des would make it better, he discounted being "confused". The man knew his mind. I will be MORE disappointed if he shows up and they have a proposal. I think that would be totally disingenuous.
I see nothing disingenuous with having a change of heart and realize you love this woman. I he really feels the same way he did when he first talked to her nothing will change his mind. But after she said she loved him everything changed for him.
Funny how the same action can be viewed so differently. I saw his reaction as "oh no please don't say that I feel guilty enough". I think each of us has a preconceived notion of how we want to see the situation end and we search for something to support that notion. I am not saying I want to see Des hurt, but I am saying I took his words, processed them for what they were and then saw that reaction as him feeling even more guilty for hurting her - not as him having some kind of epiphany.
Well after she tells him she loves him he says " why didn't you tell me this before" He did not say don't tell me this now. That leads me to believe he would have been more secure in what they had and not so conflicted knowing 2 other guys were still there.

It is all so confusing. I have to give it to the producers…..they have us hooked!!
Let's not forget he did not want to leave her. Why?

Agree. As it is we will have to see 15 minutes of her crying before and after the RC and some more crying with Drew. Hopefully we see some of those happy tears she promised.

Well, there you go.
So how does this finale play out now?
Harrison: There's nothing typical about this finale. It begins with her and I sitting down and putting the pieces together of where we go from here. Are you going to give these other guys a chance and if so how is that even possible? But the other dynamic here is that Chris and Drew have no clue because we separate everybody at this point. So we also have to deal with that there are two really good guys who very much love her and we owe it to them to have a conversation and tell them what happened. And then there's Brooks. If anybody was ever set to come back and be wishy-washy, it's him. There's definitely that option.

Is it just me or do you get the feeling CH doesn't much like the guy? Maybe there is post-show craziness?

I think Ch needs to keep his personal opinions to himself. It's not what he thinks it's what the lead thinks and feels. He should be there to support them and not making ugly comments about the contestants.

Yeah...kinda like this...CH: "So let me be clear Brooks, we can not manipulate you and you are messing with the overall outcome of this show".

Let's not forget he did not want to leave her. Why?
And let's not forget that when CH asked if it was time he needed he said no.
And let's not forget him saying he knows what love feels like and this isn't it.
And let's not forget him saying he doesn't feel that "pain" when they are apart.
and let's look at how CH is talking about him to the press.
and let's look at Brooks' family liking tweets that say they are not together.
and let's look at Brooks' going on cruises instead of mysteriously disappearing to an undisclosed location.
I am just trying to put some things together here that do not make any sense whatsoever for the "happily ever after". I have no horse in this race. Could not care less who "wins" or if this "couple" lasts 5 minutes or 50 years. Having watched this franchise since the beginning, the unspoken clues are there. No one is drooling over the happy couple. Chris is speaking in less than flattering terms about the so called F1 in the press. The uber-hype is just not there. No "most romantic ever..." and I don't recall an F1 who asked to leave and said flat out "I am not in love with him/her" and then came and had a successful relationship. (Ed and Jillian do not count as "successful" in my book.)

I don't think these mean that Brooks doesn't come back and propose. Those first 3 statements were before speaking with Des.
However, I do think this can def make an argument regarding their post show status.

I did not get that CH said he came back and was wishy-washy but that the possibility exist that he could. I think he came back and was not because they are engaged now IMO.

And I am in agreement that he probably does come back and propose. I just think that if he does it has a lot to do with manipulation and less to do with his genuine core feelings.

I think DES leaves the Island by herself....and the ATFR she will make her choice...
So we will have yet another cliff hanger intro into the ATFR...

Whatever happens, Dez wants on lockdown. I have figured out that much! Not a screencap...not a reliable rag mag cover so far. MF has granted her wish.
