And for the record, my hubby completely sided with Brooks last night. He said there is no way he could fall in love knowing that the girl is spending the night with two other dudes. But now that he knows she loves him, he can be more open to falling for her. The uncertainty is gone.

 

Molly gave Jason a second chance after time and him proving himself. He had to prove himself before she even considered getting engaged or moving to Seattle.

I agree.  The difference between these situations is like night and day.  I am thinking this may actually be more like Frank/Ali situation.  What I do think may be the situation is that Des will realize that she had stronger feelings for one of the guys than she actually thought and after Brooks leaves she finds a way to open her heart to that guy.  

I totally agree with you. The fact that she has already spoken to Drew about how her past bf was. And he didn't communicate well. Drew is just the opposite. And that is what she said she wanted. Then comes along Brooks who breaks her heart. And can't communicate with her. It is so obvious Brooks isn't into Des. When breaking up with her, he couldn't keep eye contact. In fact he was looking right past her. At the end when they were getting ready to part, she hugged him for a second time. He didn't even raise his arms for a hug.

Now if he comes back after that, lord help her. She will definately have her heart full of what if's.

I thought CH's comment at the end of the interview...something like "next week will MAYBE be as riveting or more riveting than last week's episode" makes me think it's really not that riveting or dramatic.  Brooks coming back would definitely be rivetting.  Picking Chris or Drew would not be.

IMHO anything more with Brooks is redundant.  We had over an hour of him last night, ENOUGH!

We need to rename the season to Bachelorette 8: Swimming Up Stream, The Return of the Salmon.

They can spend as much time as they want on the Brooks - Des reunion I do not mind at all. This will be romantic and emotional and worth every minute.

They'll spend more time on anything that creates drama. I admit to liking the tension between Des and Brooks because it was real. BUT then I felt guilty because its exactly what TPTB want you to feel. They want you to get that same awkward feeling that Micheal Scott from The Office gave whenever he'd say something politicly incorrect and innapropriate. Like a train wreck, but you can't look away. You need to see how it plays out.

ITA Beader.  Brooks really left no wiggle room in that.  He discounted CH's attempt to lead him to considering perhaps more time with Des would make it better, he discounted being "confused".  The man knew his mind.  I will be MORE disappointed if he shows up and they have a proposal.  I think that would be totally disingenuous.

I see nothing disingenuous with having a change of heart and realize you love this woman.  I he really feels the same way he did when he first talked to her nothing will change his mind.  But after she said she loved him everything changed for him.

Funny how the same action can be viewed so differently. I saw his reaction as "oh no please don't say that I feel guilty enough". I think each of us has a preconceived notion of how we want to see the situation end and we search for something to support that notion. I am not saying I want to see Des hurt, but I am saying I took his words, processed them for what they were and then saw that reaction as him feeling even more guilty for hurting her - not as him having some kind of epiphany.

Well after she tells him she loves him he says " why didn't you tell me this before" He did not say don't tell me this now. That leads me to believe he would have been more secure in what they had and not so conflicted knowing 2 other guys were still there.

Hmmmm. When Des admitted to loving Brooks, why would he tell her "why didn't you say something earlier?" WHAAA? 
Would it have made a difference if he truly didn't love her?
 
Brooks' world was turned upside down with confusion after he heard that. It can go either way I guess. His thought process could have been, "great, now I feel worse" or "this changes everything". Hearing Brooks say that he was suprised she loved him that much and that he missed her doesn't sound like a clear cut not-in-love man. aaack
