Has anyone every associated the "out of left field" tweet with baseball? As soon as I heard that reference I immediately thought of Chris with his baseball background and left field is a position in the sport! I believe the spoilers and want the spoilers to be right but dang I'm so unsure.

Her choosing Chris now would be just sad.. for all concerned. I'll be ok with her taking Brooks back or leaving alone... or dating Chris after a month or 2... but to choose him a few days after what she just admitted to Brooks AND said about her dates with the other guys... that wouldn't be good for any of them... rebounds usually hurt more people in the end (and please no "I married my rebound stories" )

It is a baseball term but not necessarily in reference to Chris...

Out of left field

Out of left field comes from when wrigley field was first built. In left field there was a insane asylum so when something crazy or unforseen happened it was termed, "out of left field"
What happened?
I don't know... i didnt really expect that, it was just like, out of left field, just crazy it blew me away

Imo, Brooks felt really, really bad for hurting Des. But, like he said to the camera-person, there's nothing he could say to make it better. If Brooks was in love with Des, he would have taken the opportuny to make it right. But he didn't because he knows that he is not in love with Des. As Brooks said while in the limo, he hopes that Des can find love with one of the other guys. To me, that sealed the door from his return.

I think that what we are going to see, in the last episode, is alot of heated discussions and crying scenes between Des and both Chris and Drew; which will eventually lead to a proposal from one of them in the end.

Guys ( Drew and Chris) - Des allows Brooks back
Brooks - upset he made a mistake
Des - not happy Brooks left in the first place
Me - Because my brain is fried and I almost don't care about the outcome.

She gets two proposals. The first suitor gives her the 'this is forever' ring and she says no. The final 1 guy gives her the ring described by L & S and WetPaint.

Well I thought there was a small chance Brooks could come back and end up with Des but after reading Chris Harrison's blog there's no way. He wouldn't have said the things in his blog about the whole Des/Brooks situation if they end up together.

They clearly show Des and Chris have a wonderful time with stingrays. No matter how you look at that--it's a date. I'm sure she talks to both remaining Chris and Drew and tells them what happened with Brooks. You can see the discussion with Drew in the promos. Both Chris and Drew do have LCD's, however, as the promos show it.
Why did Brooks get emotional? Because breaking up with someone is difficult under any circumstances and with cameras rolling to show the whole world how you handle it, what you say and do, that makes it harder. The whole world will scrutinize your every move or lack of.
Because he got emotional does mean anything more than he was human--think how badly it would look if he had refused to meet her, or merely said what he said and walked away?? He says himself he cares about her, but there is a huge stretch between caring about someone and wanting to propose and marry them and his gut was telling him he was willing to do whatever he needed to in order to get out of the that final positioning. He had multiple opportunities to continue with the process. He chose to follow through and stick to his original guns. Too bad he didn't stick to them after the cameras rolled and he went back to his rooms under the care of his handler.

Do you think they convinced him to go back and propose?? (if that's what happened)

I am not trying to be disrespectful or snarky to you, so please do not take me personally.
Now on to your question:
I do not think whoever his handler water boarded him. They did not strap him down and stick bamboo shoots under his fingernails. He was not put into the deprivation room nor in that overly obnoxious fantasy suite that Drew and Des shared.
They are subtle. They empathized with him. I think they played on his vulnerabilities and I am not privy to what they might be. They emphasized it was always him. Pointed out what he passed up by breaking up with Des etc.
Brooks by his own repeated admission, says he has deep feelings for Des. But as much as he had feelings for her, he stuck with the more difficult route by addressing his feelings while hurting her and walking away. He was true to both of them when he walked away.
Once he walks away and is on his own with his handler and crew--it's like slow water torture emotionally if they want him to do something. Earlier cast called it the hamburger theory. It's hard to say: I really don't want that hamburger, I am more in the mood for a salad.

Kasha, I want to add my thoughts here too. Brooks said that he had been in love before and knew what it felt like to be in love. To me that was a key point. So, it wasn't that he was confused his feelings for Des, because he knew what it felt like to be in love. It was clear to me that Brooks knew that he wasn't in love Des. To me, Brooks closed the door on returning by hoping that Des finds love with either Chris or Drew.

I truly feel that if she leaves this with anyone after what we were shown last night it will be a travesty.

She cannot leave with Drew or Chris after her admissions last night. And there is no way they can rehab Brooks from saying he simply is not in love with her and is not going to be in love with her to Brooks proposing to her without it appearing horrifyingly phony.

They just need to let t his season go and move on to the next...
