Ok I must have missed it. But that center stone does not look like a diamond to me.

I agree, I don't get the Drew dig either.sfrank wrote:Sprite wrote:canyonvue wrote:I have yet to give my opinion of the episode yesterday. I've just been responding to everyone else.
Zac: I never thought she'd end up with him. I don't think he'd make a good Bachelor. He would be exhausting to be married to.
Drew: He is in love for the first time. That means it probably wouldn't last. I'm now a lot less worried about him "interfering" with her and Brooks. Of course, he could be one of the twists. If she chooses him I'd have to rethink Desiree.
Chris: They're making fun of him. I've noticed it several times before, all the way to the early part of the season. They wouldn't make fun of the F1 like that. Cue: relief. I don't understand why they're making fun of him, though. He seems too nice to be made fun of.
Brooks: (This will be a long one) His HTD could not have been any better. They've always shown Brooks as having a conflict (being the first date, a broken finger keeping him from the RC—cue the hero returns music; slow to the finish line, fear of getting his heart broken), but they've always given him respect in the editing. And attention. I'm grateful for that.
I loved that he almost dumped them in the lake. That couldn't have been any more perfect. I was hoping they'd fall all the way in, though.
I love that he told his family that he likes kissing Des, so blatantly. Well, I guess that question's answered.
No wonder his family means so much to him. I think he's lucky to have them.
The home for his date was amazing. That view.
Brooks had a lot he was hiding because his family's extraordinary. He has hidden depths.
Des said she liked that he still managed to be adorable when he was lying on the ground with a broken finger, in pain. Ahhh.
The gallant man waving goodbye to her and running his fingers through his hair.
I even loved the sweater he wore. He has interesting style, but sometimes it's a definite hit.
His mom is a strong leader and he adores her. She trusts his judgement completely, which makes him trustworthy. His sister is striking and direct with her brother; his brothers are fun and sarcastic, just like him, and want to know if she can "hang" with him, because they think their brother is a catch. They also want to thank her for "not being a waste of time." The Foresters are amazing.
But all of this did make me wonder about Des. His family is amazing. Seeing Brooks in his element made him look different, gave him new depths. DOES she really fit into his life? CAN she really "hang" with Brooks, or, *gasp* is he actually too good for her?
She always loves the wrong men.
Would he want to align himself with her bullying brother? Or, will her creeper brother (lurking in the doorway is funny) become noble and play the hero in the end? (Making her seem slightly more equal). Yes, if her brother did Brooks a good turn, his own sister a good turn, that might start to equal out the scale a little more.
Did he make a decision out of true love and the knowledge that he should be with her forever? I hope someday he finds that, that's for sure.
RC: They showed Brooks commenting about Zac, more than once, which I thought was interesting and just another strange change this season. Brooks is thinking when he says it, and frankly, I like thinking Brooks, a lot. Don't change, Brooks.
Coming Up: Brooks says something, feels a certain way and Des doesn't like it. She is angry/hurt, storms off. He is blindsided and beside himself wondering how he can fix it/if he'll lose her. He leaves. She's sad. This lover's rift won't last.
I'm curious about the two bolded points.
Why do you think Zak would be exhausting to be married to? I actually think he would be very easy to be married to...for me.
Also, why would Des picking Drew change your opinion of her?...Is it because she would be changing her mind from what she has previously said about being in love with Brooks or is it something to do with Drew himself?
ITA! Don't get the dig for Des picking Drew. Des can't go wrong with Drew, IMO. And what a lucky girl she would be because he seems wonderful! Based on what Michael said there is more to Drew than meets the eye apparently he is very funny and has an awesome personality that they have failed to show in the editing!

Someone posted the screen times upthread somewhere.
But (scmiiw) it was still bright when she left the house for Zac and Chris whereas for Brooks and Drew it was dark when she got out. I think it was already getting dark when they went in to Brooks gathering. I wonder if she reached Utah later in the day also ?

I totally agree that both Zac and Drew are world class husband material. Keep in mind, though, that at this point many here are VERY emotionally invested in one guy or another and choose to "dig" on those who are not their favorite. Happens every season, every year. Nothing new. I don't have a favorite and, frankly, I haven't all season long. They are all nice guys with seemingly little baggage. Perhaps that is why I have trouble understanding an obsession for one guy...any guy. It's not like in past seasons where the "trouble" guy was in the finals. Any would be fine -- I just hope that Desiree picks one that will love her deeply and forever!!

It wouldn't change my opinion of her. I'd still think she's cute and sweet and everything else. My opinion would change of her if she was mean to Brooks, however, but that's beside the point and probably won't happen.
I'd just have to rethink how I see her. How she portrays herself. I've always seen her as someone who would get along with Brooks, so I'd have to rethink her. That would be quite a change, on her part, I think, to go from Brooks to Drew. Quite a swing.
Zak just has too much energy. For me. Maybe not for her. But for ME he'd be exhausting! I'm an introvert and he would just wear me out with the going and high energy and 30 kids and ice cream and penguin suit. His family is high energy, too.
They're two very different guys. Very different home lives, backgrounds, styles, personalities, temperaments, very different looks, etc.

When did it become a dig? When you read it? Because I certainly didn't write it that way. It would mean I'd have to rethink her. I pictured her with someone like Brooks all this time. Nothing diggish about it. Didn't say anything about her going wrong with Drew. Did I? Anywhere?

I agree ... I really don't see much difference between Brooks, Drew and Chris. The only one who is being shown as being more zany and out there is obviously Zak. The other difference is that Brooks is not expressing his feelings as openly as the other three but those are really the only real differences between them for me ... they all seem nice enough and seem to be taking the "process" relatively seriously.
There are big differences between all three guys in personality, style, background, temperament, looks, family life, etc. All good guys is kind of a given.

Brother. Obviously you didn't read what I wrote in response then. And also, it's not a dig. It only is because someone labeled it such.
Over and out.

I didn't "dig" on anyone. Well, Brooks is immature and needy, so I guess I dug on Drew. Actually, I don't really dig him at all.
Some people get favorites. I usually don't. BUT, Brooks is gorgeous! Totally my type! The ONLY contestant ever that I've ever been able to say that about. And on top of that he turned out to be so adorable in personality AND have a great family. So, well, that's how a contestant will become my favorite. The only other time I had a favorite was Jef, and that's only because he was from Utah, and Mormon. Brooks is from Utah and possibly Mormon, but that's not why I like HIM! :eyesigh:
And I still stand by what I said that if Des picked Drew OR Chris I'd really have to rethink Desiree. I really don't see how that's a dig. These contestants are NOT as similar as people say. They're all very different people. And I've always seen her as fitting nicely with Brooks, so far. And frankly, she's SAID she fits nicely with Brooks so far.
You can't tell me Brooks and Drew are much alike. Nice guys. Like Des. Here for a the right reasons. Good families (but very different families). Both good-looking in their own ways. But there's a lot more to them both.
