that was Zak.... an extended part was shown in the long season preview
Oh, thanks.
I really thought that was Brandon, early on in the season around the time of the Brian stuff. I thought that VO eventually matched up with him around epi 3 (or whichever one the girlfriend showed up at the mansion). I'd have to revisit that epi though.

I agree it's not Brooks. Not sure who says it though.

Such a good post Bee. Seemed all too convenient that 3 of the 4 guys in the F4 confess love and only one that doesn't is the one that Des loves. We talking Murphy's Law or manipulation? I watched the deleted scene with Zak and Chris as they spoke about what strategic moves Michael needed to make to move ahead with Des. I remember how uneasy people got when Arie and Jef were open about Em. Then I watch the deleted scene with Brooks and Michael. Brooks listens more than he talks. He's supportive. No strategy no gimmicks. Hearing Zak and Chris talk makes you realize what Brooks was hearing all these weeks after his first date. No wonder he was more pensive. But ITA by Des' comments the writing is on the wall. The second to the last guy standing will be especially hurt like never before. These guys are very sensitive men. Hearing what Des admitted last night will make for an interesting convo at ATFR. Usually they ask, when did you know it wasn't them? In this case they found out it was sooner than they thought. They heard it with their own ears and saw Des' eyes well up with tears as she spoke about her love for Brooks. Will they feel played?[/quote]
Great conversation Bee and Barb. Barb, really good point about ATRF and how the men will feel after they realize when she knew... won't be easy if the end plays out as it's been leaked.
Des obviously really likes Chris and Drew despite being gaga over Brooks. At this point in the process, she already feels love, warmth and a depth with Brooks but isn't 100% sold on how he feels for her. I guess that's her reason to continue.
I also don't see Brooks as disinterested, he gazes at her too intently to be disinterested. But something is definitely off. Like, he's proceeding with caution. Something must have went down in his past relationships because this homeboy definitely does not have his rose colored glasses on! And if his family grills him, that will slow him down even more!

Here's my 2 cents:
I enjoyed the girl talk. It was true girl talk i.e. who's the best kisser and so forth. It would've been more telling if the other girls had asked who gives you butterflies instead. I loved that Catherine playfully asked who has the biggest junk because Des thought about it a time or two. Desiree is certain no Emily, she seems very sexual like Ashley Hebert was.
At that point the relationship with Brooks was one sided. I thought they would be more affectionate during their date but they weren't. I hope that during the show Brooks finally came around. If Desiree chooses anyone other than Brooks, she's settling big time. Chris is a handsome counterpart but he's just the next best thing.
Michael's exit was super endearing and classy. I didn't expect that. Mr. prosecutor turned me off with his attorney like tone throughout the show. But what I liked was that he handled like a man should. He didn't badmouth Desiree or try to self medicate like Ben did. He just called his mom.

They will feel like crap even if it does not play out as its been leaked. Though this show always strings along 24 men in order to get engaged to 1. But generally they don't force the leads hand in declaring who she has the leanings towards. Not this time. They will both (and even Zac to some extent) feel like crap.

Let's not forget that Chris sees the connection with Des and Brooks. He has even mentioned it a few times. Will he be less hurt, don't think so. But I don't think he will be surprised either.

Couldn't see the preview in Canada. Did they actually show him saying that or was it a voice over?

I agree. Des's date with Brooks was extremely disappointing. It is one-sided. She's gaga for him and he's just lukewarm. And from all account it looks like he pulls back even more next week. It is going to be painful to watch.
Michael's exit was probably one of the classiest exits I've seen on this show. A lot of viewers did not see it, but that guy has "protector" written all over him. Down to the way he went after dbag Ben, calling his Momma, pulling out Des's chair, to his classy exit- that guy knows how to treat a woman. I think women are put off by his loud nature/ big mouth.

I was going to mention that at some point earlier. He does notice it. Otherwise, he wouldn't mention it every other episode. He is aware of their connection and feels competitive with him. Brooks, on the other hand, doesn't seem concerned with any particular person there. Yet, he isn't possessive or arrogant. He steps out of the way to let others have their chance. He listens to them talk about their relationships with Des. I don't know if the confidence is naturally a part of him or if it's because he feels/sees something between them. Probably a little of both.nannymargie wrote:Let's not forget that Chris sees the connection with Des and Brooks. He has even mentioned it a few times. Will he be less hurt, don't think so. It's a VO, RR. And it's Brandon, not Brooks or Zak, saying it. It's from the Brian bologna.

A few weeks ago, I would have agreed. Now, I am just wondering if Brooks is just "disengaged" from the process or has checked out mentally/emotionally. Something about him seemed off last night.
