Agree that there is some major contestant manipulation going on to get the ILY's so early. It is to play on the fact that the one Des loves is the only one NOT saying it yet.

I feel bad for all F4 guys going through this. It must have been hard to watch last night. I'm sure they never expected TPTB to show Des telling Chris H. she was at the finish line with Brooks this early in the process.

I LOVED Drew's conversation with Des about his sister. It totally melted my heart. I can't wait to see them pick her up for the HTD next week!

The way Des quickly added that her mind/heart is still open to Chris was a clear statement of a default F1. I said that in Twitterworld last night and someone called me rude. That was not my intention, but I forget that I can't speak as freely there as I can here. I was just calling it from what Des was saying...of course she has to say she is still open. We are only in episode 7!

I still love me some Zak. He makes me laugh and at the same time, there is a sincere sweetness about him. I keep thinking about what an entertaining season it would be with him as the Bach. I also love Chris and Drew, but they are both way too serious for me. BUT, if either of them were chosen as the next lead, I'd totally be on board with that. TPTB can't really go wrong here with any one of these guys.

Such a good post Bee. Seemed all too convenient that 3 of the 4 guys in the F4 confess love and only one that doesn't is the one that Des loves. We talking Murphy's Law or manipulation? I watched the deleted scene with Zak and Chris as they spoke about what strategic moves Michael needed to make to move ahead with Des. I remember how uneasy people got when Arie and Jef were open about Em. Then I watch the deleted scene with Brooks and Michael. Brooks listens more than he talks. He's supportive. No strategy no gimmicks. Hearing Zak and Chris talk makes you realize what Brooks was hearing all these weeks after his first date. No wonder he was more pensive. But ITA by Des' comments the writing is on the wall. The second to the last guy standing will be especially hurt like never before. These guys are very sensitive men. Hearing what Des admitted last night will make for an interesting convo at ATFR. Usually they ask, when did you know it wasn't them? In this case they found out it was sooner than they thought. They heard it with their own ears and saw Des' eyes well up with tears as she spoke about her love for Brooks. Will they feel played?

So counting the number of episodes that they have 'known' that they are falling in love does not count in these instances. That is the comparision I was trying to make.

That's why I said it's not a total parallel, because while there are some similarities to Ashley's situation, there are also some major differences. Frankly, I see more similarities with either Deanna's season with the Graham business, or Jillian's season, especially if it turns out that Brooks leaves and returns. You have Des trying to pick up the pieces and make something "happen" with one of the other guys, just like Deanna did, and Jillian did until Ed came back.

I agree as well. Poor Des. All future Bachelorettes should beg Ashley Hebert to spend a day with them and teach them how to find true love on the show.

They seem to be doing exactly the same thing with Des. I really feel for her right now. You could see the change in her face when CH brought up the relucatance from Brooks. It sorta set her mind moving and then she ended it with a resolute - this is not the end for me (or something).

Totally agree with you. The only difference between the Bentley situation and Brooks is being portrayed as a much more likeable character who isn't there to take advantage of Des. His motives are true. However, I do think that there is a possibility that once Brooks leaves he will not return. That one VO by Brooks, "I pray that she can continue to be her sweet self and hope that her fear doesn't get the best of her." makes me think it's post leaving and indicates to me that he has moved on and he wishes the same for her.

That's not Brooks saying that VO about 'I pray she can'...that sounded like Bryden to me.

It's very possible that others have said that before. I know Meredith was all about Ian from early on in her season. I do think we were only shown what Des said because Brooks probably leaves & returns. I don't need the guys to profess love at this point (or really ever for some of them) but would like to feel that Brooks has fallen for Des.

I'm not sure whether that is going to come from Brooks alone with the gentle guidance from his mother or a perhaps a bit of Nate or really a combination.
But something huge is coming up which IMO will be the change that Des was alluding to in her interviews.
Somehow I don't think its a temporary bump either. Otherwise they would not have this sort of setup.

This show makes no sense in the first place. I don't compare too much from past seasons. Things from past seasons of this show are so different from today's times.

The "edited" Ashley was crazy about Bentley. The actual Ashley was infatuated after knowing him for a week and spending no more than a couple of hours with him. She hadn't even gone on her first date with JP yet. Timewise (and considering time is so condensed and precious on this show), there was a world of difference between Ashley's real life situation and what appears to be Des'. Editing-wise, there are more similarities, but the producers will only have 1 and a half episodes to resolve the situation for Des, whereas they had 7 and a half episodes to resolve it for Ashley.

Great conversation Bee and Barb. Barb, really good point about ATRF and how the men will feel after they realize when she knew... won't be easy if the end plays out as it's been leaked.
