I can already tell you the edit. It's setting him up to 'leave' or whatever.  His the only one that fits that to me. Even the press release is more of 'he doesn't know how he feels' thing.

I was going to mention that at some point earlier. He does notice it. Otherwise, he wouldn't mention it every other episode. He is aware of their connection and feels competitive with him. Brooks, on the other hand, doesn't seem concerned with any particular person there. Yet, he isn't possessive or arrogant. He steps out of the way to let others have their chance. He listens to them talk about their relationships with Des. I don't know if the confidence is naturally a part of him or if it's because he feels/sees something between them. Probably a little of both.

A few weeks ago, I would have agreed.  Now, I am just wondering if Brooks is just "disengaged" from the process or has checked out mentally/emotionally.  Something about him seemed off last night.  

Maybe it's the first date curse.  Before their date he talked about the fact that he sees her connection with other guys.  He also mentioned that since his first 1-1, he has been on a lot of group dates and doesn't remember how to act on a 1-1 date.  She told him on their date that she liked trying to figure it out if this was working with them and he told her that it IS working.  I think this is just the pace that he likes to move in and is being extremely cautious with his heart and the hearts of his loved ones.  He toasted to always "re-connecting", and I think that is the way that he is feeling - that they have gone so long without spending more than a brief time together that it's hard to feel like you are moving forward.  She has the advantage of knowing that she's more into him than any of the others, but he has no idea if she is telling the same thing to the other guys that she is saying to him.  Also, I think he was in total awe of what they were experiencing on Cloud 9 and he was drinking it all in and trying to savor the moment.  He did try to express to her how he was feeling and why.  
When she told him she thought she was running, he told her that he liked that, that gives him hope that something will really develop between them, but just as he told her, he was waiting to see how things would go with his family.  This guy just wasn't in line for the Kool-Aid the day it was served, and he probably wasn't being pressed by the producers to ramp up his feelings like the other guys were.

Moonchild, you expressed just what I was thinking!

I'm happy he doesn't drink the kool-aid but wish he would drink a tall, frigid, glass of water more often. Many times he looks, hot, red, sweaty and almost disoriented during his dates. in contrast to his PIs, where he's dry, not shiny, and eyes are wide open. Maybe its those darn sweaters.

I was just about to make my own post on this thread but you summed up everything that I was thinking and in probably much less wordy sentences than I would have.

^yea, just my 2 cents, not that I have anything that eloquent to say. 

I have to also say LUCKY LUCKY DES! These guys are all gems! She really separated the boys from the men.

PS Chris has lost a few brownie points in my book.He's like the old fashioned romantic and so maybe I won't go after him.It's too much for me.

However Des' F4 is awesome.She really picked the good ones.

The bump up Mistresses could be those waiting for a other teaser preview they're showing of Des:giggling:

Good post!  Brooks wasn't lukewarm, and certainly not cold.  

Brooks is certainly interested/attracted to Des, but my question is he uncertain about Des or maybe not ready for a committed relationship w anyone?  

He could also just be skeptical about getting "engaged" at the end of this.  For all we know, the producers may already be grilling him about his willingness to propose at FRC if he's picked, and it may be turning him off going through with the process.

We have to remember that much goes on behind the scenes, with the producers prodding the contestants to get the dramatic actions and reactions they want to propel forward the grand storyline they are envisioning.  Conspiracy theory coming now- Maybe realizing how over the moon Des was for Brooks, and seeing how both cautious and resistant Brooks was to allowing himself to be brainwashed, the producers cooked up the whole storyline of "scaring" Brooks into leaving, then "convincing" him to come back a few days later.  They probably had him holed up in Antigua working him over.    

iron at, I always love your posts.  The last paragraph is what I'm thinking.  They showed in the car that he is feeling pressured by the producers to say more about how he feels about Des and answer if he loves her.  She seemed to get that.  I would believe he is being told you have to propose at the end, start telling her you love her etc.  He, I think, is refusing to operate on their terms, but is handling this at the pace he would in real life.  He isn't going to say things to Des he doesn't mean to keep the ball rolling and I don't think he wants to mislead her.  He is trying to take care with both their hearts and do what's right for them.  I love it!!

I do agree he seemed to be holding back though, as much as I was impressed with his logical, thoughtful approach.  There were several signs of his feelings.  He said it's working, things are easy with them, he was so glad to share the moment with her, he looked reassured to hear her say she was going into a run and to me most telling the RC hug.  He usually hangs back but he was right in there for the comfort hug as though he knew it was him she would need that from (showed him realizing more his place with her in this whole thing).  

I am worried though that she is more gaga than him.  She looks so far gone and he doesn't.  The thing I hold onto is a PI from their first date (that I sadly have basically memorized due to so many viewings) where he has different hair than I've seen, quite curly with no product.  He's explaining their time in the drew shop and says basically " Desiree could just pick any of the dresses of the shelf, and look beautiful in them".  I always thought that PI is from post show because he DOES look gaga talking about her.

Could very well be the edit because they want it to seem he's checking out since he is suppose to leave.  I am going to hate that episode and will be depressed until he comes back.

Also he is hearing from the other guys of their connections with Des and realizes he is not the only horse in this race and maybe is wondering where he really stands and does she act with the other guys like she does him.

A couple of more things I am remembering, 1. He did not like it when he saw Des and James interact in the igloo and 2 when Des and Chris left on their date he made the comment that at least they were not holding hands. But they did right after.
