Episode 7 - 7/08 - Bachelorette 9 - Discussion - Spoilers

People are amazed that some of the guys are already expressing their undying love for Des, and at the same time, saying Brooks is disinterested.
I personally think Brooks is the wise one, approaching this as realistically as possible while in the bubble.
I also think there was a lot of producer prodding with the other guys and their declarations of love.

I thought Ryan S was nuts when he fell for Trista before even going on a 1on1 date and then started spouting that poetry (which Trista obviously loved) which was already pouring his heart out to her.  At the time I took Ryan for a complete sap. Trista and Ryan's first kiss was as late as  on their HTD  and they turned out pretty good as a lasting couple.

YES! Brooks is being very reserved but like I said previously I don't blame him. All the declarations of love are actually driving me BATTY.I have no doubt that they are producer influenced.

Brooks did say "this is working" to Des. I think they are highlighting his insecurities and not showing us the positive stuff, for the sake of the story they want to tell.

Well when you watch the deleted scene between Chris and Zak you kinda see their strategy. They are trying to beat each other going one up to gain advantage over Des. The only one not participating in this is Brooks. But he is listening. These guys rushed to express their feelings to insure a HTD. Not Brooks. He says he needs to put the puzzle pieces together to see if it fits. Regarding his feelings, he's jogging which is more than fair considering the circumstance. I just wonder if the others just want to win Des then figure it out later. I like the head Brooks is using vs the other guys. They have different gimmicks but neither have been realistic. Shall I pour another glass of  

JMHO but I think we need a BIG pitcher of Kool-Aid, not just another glass.

he wasn't talking about whether or not he and des are a good match when he was talking about the puzzle pieces on their date. he was talking about having his life figured out and mentioned where he wants to live and then they abruptly cut him off, probably before he said something about career etc. he said he'd like to figure out those puzzle pieces with the right person.

I also wonder if Brooks is feeling its hard to trust how Desiree is with him. Like if he's being prodded to say certain things he may wonder what is true and what she is being told to do/say by producers. And if he's heard the other guys talk about their feelings, dates etc. He may really not know where he stands with her.

What I also find interesting is this:

Chris, Drew and Zak are getting a lot of negative feedback for saying they are in love or falling in love with Des before the HTD's.

Where is the same criticism of Des for saying she is in love with Brooks before the HTD? She has had 2 1:1 dates with him and little snippets during a few more group dates.

I'm not passing judgement or saying one is right and one is wrong. Just wondering about the double standard.

Are people criticizing the guys for telling Des they are in love with her or just that they are telling the cameras and announcing it and even thinking it? Des didn't tell Brooks she was in love with him did she?
