Ben Patton - Ready For Love - Spoilers - Discussion

If honesty was guaranteed, I would ask Ben why he agreed to go on this show. Who is advising him?

I read his bio (posted on his website) and just like Angela's bio (posted on her website), it was riddled with hyperbole. Sorry, I appreciate understated elegance. Angela actually described RFL as a "documentary" produced by Eva Longhoria (utter rubbish).

Didn't Ben put a lot of sweat and equity into building his career? Why would he pollute his business profile with a tacky show starring a bevy of girls in their twenties? The only show I would expect to see him on, is one that is strictly business related. For example, one about the acquisition and management of a hospital, given the current health care debate going on.

I think he suffered some unintended consequences. Even though the show sought to portray him as an eligible bachelor (successful and marriage material) it also exposed his flaws. A viewer could deduce that he was easy to manipulate (think Kari and Allie), naïve, impulsive (that careless marriage proposal), easy to intimidate (that scene in Angela's stepfather's home office) and generally clueless. All of these can't be good for the CEO image he is trying to project.

Many successful business leaders have very sordid personal lives. They won't be caught dead putting their personal lives on display, because the society they seek to influence will never respect them or take them seriously.

He has remained silent since he confirmed the break up, and I think that is good. I hope he doesn't appear on another TV show, thereby handing over his image to another editing crew to be messed with.

Hi, I'm not interested to comment on Ben's segment of the show, because I simply don't care about "his" girls or him that much, but it was quite an eye opener for me. Thank you Ben for making me feel less odd and satisfied with my achievements, even though they are not praised on national TV.

To see a successful guy, who, from my perspective, has everything and much more (that I would wish for myself), great career, family, money, time&possibility to travel, many friends (in different places) ...be so inadequate in finding a "suitable" match, a woman worthy of his love, but also I question his ability to love and be ready for a relationship, where both partners have a meaningful role. What Alondon wrote is the exact same thing that was going through my mind watching Ben P., the CEO, proposing to a girl he only knew for 9 dates, asking his parents and sister "desperately" for advice what to do, rely on everything any girl told him during the dates, being influenced by girls' tears and puppy eyes, ...

In the end I was so unimpressed with both Ernesto and Ben. For two such successful guys, they seem to be idiots in the ways of the world. How pathetic that they need this show to find love. Ernesto never said I love you before? Yeah right. And Ben? He proposes to Angela after not even showing any feelings for her till the end. This was such a total set up. Ernesto gets told to do something over the top and Ben is told to propose. They tell him dont worry you won't go through with it. What man madly in love would go 2 months and see his fiancé once. He knew he wasnt getting any action if he saw her so he ignored her completely. I never felt he cared a thing about anyone at all except for Kari. And funny thing is I came upon a clip of Tanner the other day. Ewwwww he was so weird. If that is Kari's type she is a bit stranger herself. He has such a severe foot fetish. Creepy. I can honestly say there is no way this show would have ever made it another season.

Lovinlife - I guess this is why I'm having trouble believing Kari's PDA (on twitter) with the bearded foot fetish bloke. Based on the pictures they've posted, I can't see any chemistry between them, but I must say I dig his nickname "Tannter Wannter". That's brilliant!!

OT -- I do remember Tanner Pope from Jillian's season of The Bachelorette. Other than the foot fetish, he seemed like a pretty nice guy. Maybe he has outgrown the foot fetish by now? Who knows?

Guys the foot fetish thing is not a real thing for Tanner. He isn't obsessed with feet as much as it come across.  Just something funny they played up.  Kari is an AWESOME girl.  Tanner is really sweet and they really are in love.  These reality shows are not real and it has openly been said that producers have actually assigned things like this to guys and girls.  Like carrying an egg or wearing a mask, etc.. going shirtless. It is for more entertaining TV that all. 

The whole fight between Kari and Allie.....not as big a deal as they lead on.  Allie is actually going next wednesday to stay with Kari and Party for a few days.  All the drama we see isn't real.  Plus they splice and dice to put scenes together that really don't go together to create a story.  So I think it is safe to say the "reality" in Reality TV isn't reality at all.  HAHAHA

I was disheartened by the whole show!  What a farce, not any better than the Bachelor franchise!  Leading ppl on to hurt them later.  Saying things to ppl you don't mean or you were just told to say them.  The show being scripted to pull viewers in.   Ppl not really being themselves just to make TV...  over it..

I would love to watch one of these shows that just shows what really happens and lets us enjoy it from start to finish. I told my daughter to watch it and she got 2 episodes in and said it was awful. She also said I dont have to watch any further to tell you that Tim picks Jenna. She said that connection had nothing to do with love. She thinks I am nuts that I love the bachelor so much.

i find it interesting that the show died long ago but ben and ernesto can't seem to let it go. ben posted the following picture on twitter with the comment:

it's an interesting picture, particularly the way ernesto is holding eva and the goo-goo eyed look on his face. the picture is from mid march (eva's birthday) and reports of eva and ernesto dating were already starting to circulate. if you look at the twitter post and the replies ben received you'll find a couple of people asking him about ernesto and eva. since those stories are starting to circulate again i have to wonder why ben would even post this picture. is he just a narcissist who can't help himself?

Wasn't there suspicion that she dated Ben after interviewing for the show, but before filming began? I think Ernesto & Ben think its cool to be hanging out with a "celebrity"! Tim has probably been around enough celebrities, that wasn't so easily impressed!
