I know I am the minority here, but true love do not let time and distance crush a relationship. Still think they gave up to quickly or they were not really in love.

I agree...probably more in love with the idea of being in love. When you put yourself out there like that, there has to be a lot of pressure to pick someone.

I agree...probably more in love with the idea of being in love. When you put yourself out there like that, there has to be a lot of pressure to pick someone.

IMO they did not need to get engaged. I guess Tim's ..you want to be by girl or what.. works fine.

I was a little surprise by his statement as well. What does he mean by "her". Couldn't he at least say Angela.

I think that Angela not having sex was a major factor in their breakout..

Could be true. He put a ring on it but not the right ring I guess. If they were truly in love they would have gotten married secretly until the big day. Again this is my opinion, also what I did, and still happy 22 years later.

Can anyone truly say that they saw love with Ben and Angela???? I kept saying that we did not see ANYTHING that would support Angela as F1, and especially not a proposal.

At the end I thought so. He was so nervous when she was coming to his apartment. He was making sure everything was perfect. He was also a nervous wreck waiting for her to knock on his door. I think we missed a lot. One thing I did wonder why they did not show the visit with his friends. They changed clothes about 4 times, at least that I noticed.

No, I can't say I truly saw love between them. I do think her waiting to have sex could have been an issue. He had probably never dated someone who was waiting. I am sure the idea appealed to him, but in the end it probably caused stress. I agree, he shouldn't have proposed.

I think that if they lived in the same city, they might well still be together.

There's added pressure when you long for one another and have to wait 2-3 more weeks just to be together. Additionally , the intensely emotional rendezvous would be easier for couples who are not waiting until marriage to sleep together.

But it seemed like she was in Texas a lot. Not sure if she lives full time in LA or not. But when they were in the same state they could have arranged to see each other. Someone else on this board mentioned Dallas and Houston are only about 3 hours away by car.

I think it is great Angela is waiting and have a lot of chrisitian friends who have chosen that route also. But it is usually easier when both parties have made that same decision. I think Ben respected the decision, but my guess is it is not one he made for himself. That can build a lot of frustration on top of an already difficult sitiuation.

I agree both parties need to have made the choice to wait. He said in the vineyard date when they discussed her choice that he had no problem with her choosing to wait, but to not hold it against him that he had not chose to wait to marriage. I wonder if his mother encouraged this? She seemed very impressed that a young woman in America had made the choice to wait.

I wouldn't want my son to marry a girl he hasn't had sex with. I'd want him to have a fun sex life that will help to carry him through the parts of life that are tough. A good sex life is healthy!

IMO, it's easy to 'save yourself' when you have little or no sex drive.

Ben has a 'knight in shining armor' complex. He sent Renae home because Allie cried. Allie's a nice person with the right guy, I'm sure. Someone simple minded who would love her for her smile. (her response to why she likes Ben).

If he takes his time, and contacts Tarryn, he might develop a real connection with her, and not be bored to tears when it comes time to have a real conversation.
