Forget anything snarky. Those days are pretty much over for me here. :halo:
Personally, this couple is no different than the majority of couples born of this franchise. Time will tell.
How about the admin start an all SNARKY board? All posts allowed, no holds barred, no second guessing. However, no threats of violence allowed. :giggle:

Since the fan threads were created I feel things have been pretty smooth overall. Like with any big family, there will always be occasional disagreements, but, for the most part, I think people have done a good job sharing their thoughts and respecting those who disagree during Sean's season.
It is unfortunate that some still feel that they can't express themselves freely and I personally don't know what to do to rectify that. It is always more difficult trying to express sarcasm and disagree in a forum where things have to be written rather than verbally, in a face to face situation. There is no body language or tone of voice to get cues from and since multiple people read what we have written sometimes things seem to end up as part of the telephone game where things get distorted very quickly. This is particularly true when we get to the end of the season. By that time, people have invested a lot in the people involved and thus, feel more of a need to defend them. Because this season with Sean and Catherine went right from the Bachelor into DWTS, we have had ... it seems to me ... way more information, photos, videos, interviews, etc. and it has seemed even longer than usual. As a result, many may feel even more invested. Nevertheless, overall, I think this site and the mods have done a very good job of balancing the needs of everyone.
Personally, I always enjoy the start of each season much more as everyone seems to be working together to piece together clues to outsmart MF and RS, rather than the end where it just seems as if people are defending their turf and waiting for the next season to start. Kind of like like houseguests who were all excited to see one another at the start of a vacation, but, due to bad weather have been stuck together for far too long and are running out of food and liquor!
Familiarity breeds contempt. That's how I feel about SeanCat now.

True. I think that is part of the problem. Sometimes it feels as if I know these people and want to know what their life is like after the show ... will they make it or won't they? I want more information and am disappointed when we don't have it, but, then when they give it to us, sometimes, I wish they would stop and keep things private! I am hard to please!!!

I agree with this completely Kash. It is sad to feel so censored at a site that was originally developed to combat that very thing. I agree with you too IrishGal, (can't multi-quote) that it has been about a year since it became so difficult to have an oposing opinion and post freely about it. Emily's season pretty much did that in. I hope we can get back to where members feel comfortable posting knowing that even if most disagree with what the poster says, they won't be attacked. Where Kash's snark is once again posted for those of us who absolutely love it!
I agree with everything, especially the bolded. Not fun to post here anymore. Just one little thread to post our opinions and have good, intellectual conversations, peppered with a little snark. Once Des' season starts, and people get to know contestants, that too will turn into a fan forum. Most of the old posters from FORT don't post here anymore. Thanks Love and San for trying to create such a nice forum... but ever since Emily's season this site is slowly turning into a fan site.

I believe we all agree that we will disagree (sorry to sound like a broken record). I've taken a stance that I cannot control what other people say or how they say it, what I can control is how I react to it. Is this site primarily in the US? Then democracy should be our rule. - JMO
Need to do something productive and stop hanging out in this forum (after Nick's season)

Critical thinking and freedom of speech are part of the joy of this site (and our country) but - again IMO - are most effective when expressed in a respectful manner.
In the fan thread, one fan was describing one blogger as a "piece of shit". So much for expressing anything in a respectful manner.
This is basically the difference
Fansite = "I can attack you or whomever just do not say anything offensive to my tv idols"
Forum = "We can make fun and talk about these tv people, in whatever fashion we want as long as we are civil and respectful toward one another"
The truth of the matter is in a fansite everybody is a 'piece of shit' compared to say St. Sean and St. Catherine. It is very disturbing to rever people like they are gods and blasphemy is a capital offense.
(yes I will shut up about it. Happy Springtime to you all. I love Spring so much!)

The "piece of shit" description, I believe, was about the writer for Celebrity Dirty Laundry who writes about Sean and Catherine in a very negative and crude way.

Imo that has already started for one or two contestants.

Not to defend the poster calling the blogger that, but what's the difference between that and all the names that RS gets called here? Is it because he wasn't been nice to them? Is it because he is more all-known? While I would never call any blogger any name even if I've had a bad experience with them, I can understand people voicing their frustrations.
And on a happier note, I'm glad you are enjoying Spring. We just got another 7 inches of snow so I'm still waiting for Spring to show up.

According to RS, I am a frustrated haus-frau that has nothing better to do than sleuth TB. Now, if that isn't the pot calling the kettle black, I don't know what is. Except for gender, projection at it's finest.

Fansite VS Forum

And I totally get that. But fans of certain contestants call RS much worse for things he says about contestants and no one takes issue with that. That's what I was pointing out.
Sorry, I'll leave now and go back to the place where I apparently worship at the altar of two saints. Although that's the furthest thing from what I'M doing.
