So, Shay still isn't backing her brother and Cat. Sure would love to know what's bugging her.... and I have a feeling that whatever it is, is the answer to the real relationship between Sean and Cat. I don't think it's as straight up as Ash and JP's was... I think it's a little more of an Emily/Jef kinda thing.

No offense to Shay, but I think their parents' opinions are more important. And all four of them seem to be completely supportive.

Could she not approve of the relationship? Sure. But she could also just be being quiet considering she basically threatened to kill Sean for not marrying his last serious girlfriend. For what it's worth, her and Catherine have been liking various pictures the others post on twitter and Instagram, so if there was a serious trouble between them I'd doubt we would see that.

Not that I know of, just commenting on her on-going silence, which to me, speaks volumes. Does anybody know the exact time that she went "silent"? I thought it was around the time that they aired the FRC and ATFR, but it could have been before that. So it can't be that she didn't like Cat as his choice, especially at the beginning as she knew for a few months who he chose, and was still an advocate of her brother and the show... then she just went silent, with no expanation it seems. It's like she's following the old adage of "if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all". I don't follow that adage btw

ha, that's true. I don't know if my brother's wife has twitter or instagram accounts -- and don't care enough to look. I have zero interest in following her social media accounts or clicking "like" on anything she posts. She's not my favorite person in the world, I'll just say that. (I still love and adore my brother though, he's awesome.)

Parental support is a whole different animal than parental approval. I would support my kids in any of their life experiences, including their right to make their own mistakes (not counting violent or illegal acts, of course). And surely I would never allow my private opinions of what they are doing to be aired in public where it would indicate a lack of support. So I take what both sets of parents have said with a grain of salt, as I trust they are good parents.

i just looked at shay's blog and you're right that it was at the FRC & ATFR that she went silent. her only comment about the outcome of the show was that she is praying for her brother and his new relationship. that is pretty much christianspeak for i think he's making a mistake in his life and i'm really praying for him to get back on track. shay seemed to really like ashlee and des. i'm guessing she probably wanted either one of them to be sean's pick. Cat not being a christian probably weighs heavy on her heart even if she likes Cat as a person.

Who really cares what Shay thinks? I think Shay is a hypocrite! A person who quotes scriptures cannot be someone who does not have an open heart? So F Shay!

I think Shay is jealous of a woman who is now the Princess of their family NOT her(Shay). Catherine is smarter, younger and more gorgeous and has a career. As we saw in today's Richmond signing, Catherine took the challenge.

Shay's blog has a lot of followers only because of Sean. And some fans here have a hatred for Cath I cannot fathom. Why is it only because of her race?

Really? That is not my perception at all, that people here hate Cat . It seems to me that most people here who don't like the couple, don't like Sean.

People seem to be skirting the issue about why they want this couple to fail. Why can't people just leave them be and allow whatever happens happen. It's just a wasted energy .I felt I had to sign up on this forum just to unearth the shirking around the very issue why people want them to fail. So instead of speculating about Shay, just say "Shay doesn't seem to approve of the relationship because Catherine isn't white!" End of story. Own up to one's racism.

I think most people like Cat a lot and feel a little protective of her and the obvious lack of support from her soon to be sister-in-law. The reason it doesn't make sense is because we aren't privy to all the facts.
