So, Shay still isn't backing her brother and Cat. Sure would love to know what's bugging her.... and I have a feeling that whatever it is, is the answer to the real relationship between Sean and Cat. I don't think it's as straight up as Ash and JP's was... I think it's a little more of an Emily/Jef kinda thing.

I used to think the same but now . . not so much. I can't pretend to know why Shay has been silent but the rest of the family and all of Catherine's family is supportive of the couple and I don't believe they would be if the relationship was - as you think - more like Emily and Jef.

I believe that a day will come when we will understand Shay's silence and it will not be for any of the reasons we speculate about. She has always been supportive of Sean and wants nothing but hius happiness and I don't believe she has changed in this.

Not gonna really touch this topic other than to say Sean was previously dated outside his race and from Shay's own blog she had no problem with it so I don't think it's an issue.

I so strongly disagree with your post, Lakergurl. I don't see any racism here, and I don't see posters here who are actually hoping that the couple fail. What I see are posters who think they will fail for various reasons, who just don't like Sean or the two of them as a couple, or who don't care at all, but like to make fun of their opportunism. As you said, what difference does it make what Shay has to say or not say, or why.

I don't think(my opinion) people "want" them to fail. I can't imagine anyone caring so much about that unless the failure of this couple guarentees that this will pay someone's bills, offers them a better life or better health, happiness etc...You get what I mean.
I think if people appear to be negative regarding a lasting outcome for this couple it stems from other reason than "wanting" them to fail.
And I am not discussing the other topic you brought up--that is a can of worms that I don't see at all in any reference from this forum. JMO--but I am a from a cultural minority and have never felt any type of discomfort concerning those issues from this forum. Never.

There is just too much importance placed on Shay's actions or inactions. I consider her a non factor.

I don't mean the posters in the forum are racist. I mean posters should just be forthcoming on why they think Shay behaves that way towards Cat. If it's a difference in religion and not race it is still discriminatory. Who can say one religion trumps another or is better than a non-religion?

Also, there is no evidence that PEOPLE want this couple to fail. Just like you/I/people do not want Kim Kardashian to fail. I might make fun

of Kim Kardashian's butt and talk about how lousy a dancer she is but I certainly will not go to a witchdoctor or learn voodoo

Macroscopically speaking for some people Shay and/or Catherine are non entities, ok for me at least cause that guy's antics continues to amuse.

He is the gift that keep on giving. You don't know what's he gonna do next, maybe after DWTS he'll join the circus for all you know.

Not that I know of, just commenting on her on-going silence, which to me, speaks volumes. Does anybody know the exact time that she went "silent"? I thought it was around the time that they aired the FRC and ATFR, but it could have been before that. So it can't be that she didn't like Cat as his choice, especially at the beginning as she knew for a few months who he chose, and was still an advocate of her brother and the show... then she just went silent, with no expanation it seems. It's like she's following the old adage of "if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all". I don't follow that adage btw

i just looked at shay's blog and you're right that it was at the FRC & ATFR that she went silent. her only comment about the outcome of the show was that she is praying for her brother and his new relationship. that is pretty much christianspeak for i think he's making a mistake in his life and i'm really praying for him to get back on track. shay seemed to really like ashlee and des. i'm guessing she probably wanted either one of them to be sean's pick. Cat not being a christian probably weighs heavy on her heart even if she likes Cat as a person.

Could it be that something happened b/w her and Catherine the last few weeks of the show airing that made her wary of the relationship?

She also seemed cold during her last visit to LA for DWTS, tweeting "Here you go" of a picture of her and Catherine. Hardly any terms of endearment that she saved for other celebrities she met on the same trip.

If you do not like say Kim Kardashian and Omarosa are you going to be offended if people say you are racist?

Kim is armenian and Omarosa is afican american but people do not seem to fancy them, are they all racist?

Who really cares what Shay thinks? I think Shay is a hypocrite! A person who quotes scriptures cannot be someone who does not have an open heart? So F Shay!

I think Shay is jealous of a woman who is now the Princess of their family NOT her(Shay). Catherine is smarter, younger and more gorgeous and has a career. As we saw in today's Richmond signing, Catherine took the challenge.

Shay's blog has a lot of followers only because of Sean. And some fans here have a hatred for Cath I cannot fathom. Why is it only because of her race?

I was thinking this as well that Catherine is now number ONE in Sean's eyes and life and she may be jealous although if this were the case, wouldn't she be jealous of Emily, too, if he had been chosen by her? Shay loved Emily.

Shay is probably jealous that her Dad likes Catherine, too. Perhaps her husband, too????

I was wondering if it's not really so much about Cat personally, as she's not happy with both of them as a couple. Maybe she knows something that's going on and doesn't want to be part of it ... maybe she knows there will never be a wedding and she doens't want any part of it... or maybe she's not happy with Sean doing DWTS and then staying in LA to pursue a career in entertainment... so many possibilities when you look at different scenarios. I just find something fishy about the whole thing and am waiting for a shoe to drop to reveal a little more to us. I don't think it'll happen until he's off DWTS though, as he needs for them to be a couple to get votes.

I think he went to Fellowship church in Dallas so this "I'm not religious" seems like a new thing, maybe influenced by Cat. It's my understanding that he has always been a part of organized religion. Certainly, growing up he was. His parents go to a Baptist church.

Shay has said she is praying for her brother's relationship. I think she is taking a wait and see approach.
