Sean said he also goes to a non-denominational church. A different church than his parents.

Is Catherine a Christian? I've never heard her talk about religion at all.
Maybe because being spiritual to her is more important than being religious. She's probably baptized catholic (just assuming cause of filipino upbringing) and grew up embracing all faiths, is a freethinker and goes to non denominational church. Remember she said, she's non traditional. But Sean and her probably talked about it at length and she agreed to embrace his faith and raise their future children to be christians.
I really dont know why theres an issue about this, God's love is all inclusive. Why would religion be so divisive specially between two people who love each other? I really hope religion is not the reason why his sister is not warm to her cause its doing the opposite of what christianity preaches.

Hydroxycut - hope Sean knew of true successes before ageeing.
Maybe Sean is growing up? Shay supposedly said at some point Sean is naive. It was somewhat clear from many of Sean's pre-show comments that he had bought into the religious, Texan train of thought. While doing the Bachelorette and especially being a LEAD showed him "whoa, there's a whole lot more world out there and it's interesting!". And now he has a partner to share it with him. It is scary to a family -sort of like feelings when a small town girl goes off to the big city - but the barn door is open and they can't shove him back in. Sean and Catherine seem like they will keep their principles while maneuvering.

Thanks veg!
Looking at that chart makes it clearer to me why Mike Fleiss loved Ali so much. I didnt even watch her season.
Emily Maynard and and Ben Flajnik - the death knell duo. Ha!So I guess what MF was really saying is Yawn brought the series back from the near death experience of M and Ben

Jake Pavelka :puke: My first time to ever use this emoticon.... Jake was BY FAR the WORST Bachelor ever!!! I guess that I should add IMHO, but I know that I am not alone.

I didn't like Jake but think Lorenzo was so much worse. The only thing that I liked was that they went to some great places.
I find it amazing that ratings are where they are now over that many seasons. I really thought it was on it's way out a few years ago but seems to have rebounded.

Didnt realize Emily's season's ratings were very dismal.
And whoa Jake Pavelka's season... Really???
Are these season long numbers, or just opening night numbers? There was a lot of hope for Jake, before he made clear who he was.
I think that a lot of America prefers the guys who seem to be gentlemen, and that was probably a big part of Sean's appeal. A lot of people thought Jake was like Sean actually seems to be, until they saw more of him.
Just give me something that looks like a real love story to help me escape into my own version of fantasy for a while. And maybe against the odds one of those stories will actually survive real life. Nothing wrong with a little hope, right?

One thing I've been thinking with Sean and Catherine is that it is hard for me to get a feel for their chances of success (which is an inexact science no matter what, I realize that) because they have a relationship dynamic that I can't relate to, and don't have a good basis to understand: a large piece of opposites attract. They are the same and not the same, with the not the sames being the very visible pieces, and ones that I tend to think can be pretty important. So I don't know what to look for in the way of tell-tale signs. As much as I loved Meredith and Ian, for example, I saw something right off that nagged at me; I just choose to ignore it because it was more fun, and Ian was the kind of guy I'd always crushed on (but wisely, for me, didn't marry). With Andy and Tessa I saw the issues Tessa was having right off, even though the romantic in me wanted to believe she'd work through it. But Sean and Catherine ... I just have no clue what to look for. He lights up, yes, but we all know that what they feel today, as sincere as it might be, isn't enough. OK, it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things, since we'll all cheer if they make it and go "oh well" if they don't, but the student of human nature and relationship dynamics in me is curious.

Interesting insight. What did you think for Ashley and JP? I don't have a long term opinion of Sean and Catherine yet, both extrememly nice and agreeable people, beautiful couple, but there are definitely some differences.

have u guys seen this? now, i am a massive fan of sean and catherine but even i can't help but feel that there is an inkling of truth to this. even if their source is star magazine.

I know this an old post, but I would expect that Sean's family assumed Lindsay would be "easier." Doesn't mean they don't love Catherine and won't love Catherine, but Lindsay always seemed like the obvious fit to what we know about Sean and his family. My mom used the term "easier" once when we were talking about someone I was dating who was so different from me. Her perspective was that you don't rule other people out, just that when looking at building a life together, there is so much that is going to be hard, so every chance you have to make things "easier" simply increases your odds. But she would never have traded or suggest we trade real love or what was "meant to be" for "easier."
So it wouldn't surprise me if Sean's family had a similar thought process at that point in time, especially since they hardly had time to really know either woman or really understand where Sean was at with each. It isn't the same as "wanting him to pick Lindsay" or not liking Catherine; it is just a natural instinct to want your kids to have an easy go in life. Does that make any sense?
Not that I think for a moment Star has any real sources on this. I think they are just exaggerating what is a pretty safe assumption.

I thought Ashley and JP had over-the-top chemistry, and he was the only one of the men she really could communicate with and the only one she trusted. I saw the yin and yang with them (and I do see some of what may be the yin and yang with Sean and Catherine), but ultimately felt I had no way to know how it would play out because, well, at that point they didn't know. Also, since I'm not an over-the-top chemistry person, I really didn't know what to look for in the way of guessing lust v. love. People like them make the BEST love stories, though, when they do work out. Sean and Catherine may be like them in many ways, but I think the differences are more extreme, and Sean seems harder to read than JP, AND I think the Bachelor shows are more negatively affected by the bubble than the Bachelorette ones (although I think Jef Holm was triple bubble coated, that just seems to be his personality).

Ashley-JP resumed their normal lives & careers post-Bachelor.
Sean goes on DWTS and gets endorsements deals announced 1 day after Bach finale airs, moves to LA, and Cat gives up her job to join him.
The difference between the two couples is quite obvious.
