Three thoughts:
~ Many leads say, and I think Sean did too, that when they are with one of the other gals they try to treat them as if they are the only one there like one would on a regular date. I wonder if he said something like "when I'm with you I don't think about the other girls" meaning he's focusing on her but she took it to mean she's the only one he thinks about at all
~How Soon said "AshLee was the first fantasy date". That's important to the story and us - Sean learned a lot in those other fantasy dates.
~From Sean's demeanor and phraseology when he talked to Des made it very clear he is very happy with his choice.
~I still think the letter is Catherine getting her feelings out about Sean and the journey just in case he didn't pick her. She wanted him to know she had no regrets and didn't blame him if he didn't pick her; but that it would be too hard to say in the moment of getting turned down at the Rose Ceremony; it'd be easier to say in a letter. The chain reaction is that Sean wants her to clearly know that he wants her and has no doubts, and she shouldn't either. The only other chain reaction is that maybe she emphasized she didn't want to be engaged unless it was very sincere.

If it can add to the current "passionate" discussion on He Said, She Said, i posted Sean's blog on Women Tell All

Sean to me came across as not understanding what Ashlee was talking about. I think he was hit in the side of the head by it and was trying to remember his exact words that made her think that and it's probably somewhere in between. In any case I think it was unnecessary on Ashlee's part and only made her look bad instead of him which may have been her intention. She obviously hasn't moved on unlike Desiree who came across so much better. Hopefully Ashlee has learned something from the experience but I have my doubts.

Sean's response to AshLee's accusation:

SL: It must have been. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that I certainly didn’t say I don’t have feelings for the other two women because that’s just not true. And not only that, it doesn’t make sense because I had feelings for Leslie, I had feelings for Des, I had feelings for a lot of women. AshLee’s a sweet girl, I’m sure that I probably said something that maybe she took the wrong way but I’m sorry that she’s harboring those feelings.

I think that if he said it, or anything like it, he doesn't remember. Depending on what they were "doing" this is entirely possible. Men!

Sean has been trying not to hurt any of the rejected womem's feeling by saying he had feelings for them. It goes with his need to protect and be a gentleman. Other bachelors were quick to say things like they knew who their f1 was and spent the rest of the time going thru the motions. Telling Ashley dat same happened to him with Emily talking about their life in Dallas was just to remind her its the lead's job to do that with the f4 which is d premise of the show. He also kept saying stuff like its hard being the Bachelor and she wld only understand if she was in his shoes. Thats a nice guy's way of saying " The show dictates i have to let everyone believe they srw the one until the F 1

The moment he said that, I thought that he had seriously misled her and told her something in the Fantasy Suite leading her to believe she would not be going home, and that he knew it and was trying to cover his behind... So, I guess I'm the only one who doesn't think AshLee is just completely crazy here. I do think she fell hard for Sean, but I think it's because she was being seriously misled from early on and strongly led to believe that she was F1 - moreso than the other girls.

You aren't the only one, perhaps one of the few that will state such.
For what it's worth--I agree with you.
If I had been accused of something I did not say--I would look a bit more than "befuddled". I would have been totally outraged and difficult to contain, especially given the fact it was on tv with a live audience. Just me.
Heck, we have seen much more outrage on this message board when people disagree. :shocked!:

Not sure I agree here, Kasha. We already have seen how Sean was able to contain himself with Des' brother so I think it's very possible that he was totally outraged internally and was able to school his expression to befuddlement. I think his blog describes the conundrum in which he found himself; feeling his character was being attacked and, thus, wanting to defend himself and concomitantly wanting to be respectful to AshLee and not attack her character.

, I agree with you, too. I don't think Ashlee is skewed. We watched Sean say things all season that were leading the women to believe they were probably the one. Best example of not being genuine with his words, was telling Tierra, "I think the world of you" as he put her in the limo to go home!

Kasha, yes. His deer in the headlights reaction told me he knew he had gone overboard with what he said to her and he was searching his brain, as she spoke, to recall what his words were exactly. She misinterpreted something.

First post-I usually lurk:-). I think Ashley convinced herself she was the F1. I mean, the girl had a ring picked out! I think after Dez left, she probably thought the other 2 girls (being younger and more playful) are no competition to her.

I'm convinced Sean may have said something like "i'm not worried about the others girls; or I'm don't care about the other 2 girls Right now, I'm with you" and in Ashlee's mind it meant something totally different!

I also think producers put her up to it...what better way to create drama for ATFR.

Sean himself admitted that Ashley was a front runner, and we saw how much of a toss up it was for him to even keep Cat at the HTD RC ( he even admitted it to CH a few times) .... so for me, it's not impossible to believe that he communicated something to her. She was also the first FD, which was right after the HTD's.... so I have no trouble believing that he said he didn't have strong feelings for the other girls, being Cat and Lindsey. IMO, Sean's mindset after the HTD RC was that he was going to choose Ashley in the end.

I agree with both of these posts. I think Sean did say something to AshLee. She may have interpreted to be more than it was. But either way it sounds like something he should not have said if he was not sure she would be going on. Especially since he knew how strongly she felt for him. Sean is not perfect. It is possible he did step over the line. jmo.

Part of Sean's blog:

Next comes the accusation that I did not see coming. AshLee proceeded to tell me that during the course of our overnight date, I told her that I didn't have feelings for the other two women.

Let me set the record straight – I never said that. I would never say that. It just doesn't make sense. Of course I had feelings for the other two women. That's been apparent for weeks! And not only did I have feelings for them, I was falling in love with them. I even had feelings for women like Des and Leslie, who weren't even there anymore. In that moment on WTA, I felt like it was an attack on my character, so I began to get defensive. I was so stunned by the accusation that I was speechless.
'I Am Sorry If ...'
To this day, I don't know what I may have said that would have given AshLee the impression she got, but I am sorry if I said anything at all that misled her because that was truly not my intention. I am also sorry that she's still harboring these feelings of resentment. I wish nothing but the best for AshLee, and I hope she finds a great love one day.
