This occurred to me as well ... if the "ex-boyfriend" prank is being played, could the brother also be part of the gag? He seems a bit over the top.

I think Tierra leaving like that was so staged, much the same as Ali's was. I don't think Tierra was ever as into Sean as he was her. I think the conflict with the girls made her want out and so they set up the whole thing (probably convincing Tierra that it was setup so she could be next Bach'ette - sucker!)... from tptb instigating a fight between Tierra and Ashlee, coincidently?? ya right!!, just before Sean comes to get her to meet with Shay?? I'm not that stupid or naive ... sheesh....

I'm questioning the originator of the prank, northy! You know just as well as I do that things are usually not exactly as they're packaged for consumption.

wasn't there footage in season preview about a boyfriend? where did the info come that Des plays a prank? could there have been some wires crossed, and there is a prank but it's done by Des's brother and not an old boyfriend?? if Desiree's brother legit said all those things..........

Looks like a producer setup to me and the bro got into it a little too much. Feel bad for Dez if that's what happened.

Which begs the question: why would the producers feel the need to go this far? Is the brother not saying to Sean's face much the same that many here have said: Sean's "crazy about" all the girls, but who is he falling in love with? We see moments with Dez and Cat, but nothing sustained like Ashley H. Even if it's happening off screen and hidden, why is it being done?

My theory with Dez and Sean is that the show worked hard against them, which allowed them both to doubt their feelings and the relationship. Dez's brother's words bear a striking resemblance to-if not an identical one-Kacie's dad's humph last season. Also, Sean's angered by both the brother's words and then the "ex's" interaction with him. If the show staged and encouraged this interaction, why? Either someone wanted out or the show wanted Dez for another role.

In the past two episodes, Dez has been telling us the type of man that she wants. This week she even cried about wanting her parents' kind of love.

I think that, like Ben with Kacie, Sean may have decided that he couldn't have a life with a brother-in-law who essentially called him "meathead."

The bolded actually made me laugh this morning in spite of being sick!
Meathead is so appropriate to what the producers have going. I am surprised one of the competition group dates did not involve mud wrestling.

We have caps of the ex so the prank includes another guy. Maybe the bro set it up. I would be interested to know the order of events: if the prank preceded or followed the bro convo.

Kasha - the season's not over yet. Maybe they'll have a fantasy date competition with the F3 in a swampy area at the edge of some river in Thailand. You know - a new fantasy date twist to make the show more "interesting." And Sean will ITM: "I'm getting so close to these women. I know my wife is here. Since athletics and appreciating nature are so important to me, I thought that having the girls wrestle in the mud will help me see who is really falling in love with ME! "

I don't agree with this. If this was a set up then the people behind the scenes would have been ready. But we saw them scrambling for cover. The whole thing played out quite spontaneously.

I don't agree with this. If this was a set up then the people behind the scenes would have been ready. But we saw them scrambling for cover. The whole thing played out quite spontaneously.

of course they have to make it look real.... and the mini van was conveniently there with driver... and the camera set up in it.. and Shay looked so shocked... lol Sean was so stilted in his conversation... not buying it for one second....been watching to many seasons.

For sure. She's not a girl's girl, she didn't care about meeting friends or being friendly, she was there to win the Bach, didn't matter who the guy was. I think it got to be too much for her and it just wasn't worth it to her anymore, so she wanted out. Neither Sean nor Tierra looked heartbroken or over emotional about her going, so I'd say they both had time to get used to it before what we saw play out for the camera. I think their date was a dud for both of them and Tierra and producers discussed how she was going to leave the show. And you know a RC wasn't how Tierra would want an exit... nope, she'd want something a little more dramatic than that.

Anyone wonder about Des's parents not being shown in the preview? If she chooses to keep them away from the show, especially after what she said tearfully on the beach, then I would bet that was a big comment to Sean that she isn't fully sure of him or didn't want to continue. I would guess that is a no go for him. I thought her tears last night were maybe her doubts about involving her parents in the show especially if they are private or lead a bit of different lifestyle. I think she said they,didn't meet her ex.

Weird season - no romance and not really getting to know the top 2. The little subtle clues are fine as proof that Sean and Catherine are together, but this show is not built on subtlety. They have only 3 episodes to show them fall in love for the millions of regular viewers of the show. I really hope for a choice not a proposal more than ever this year despite the spoilers. A proposal would sort of ruin the thoughtful, genuine, principled "Sean" I have come to really like. Wish they hadn't included the line about no one standing out this late. Ouch. If you want an obstacle for them to overcome there it is to me: No storyline, barely any time shown together and 3 episodes to build a romance that could end in a proposal. That's a tall order.
