The Bachelor 17 - Speculation/Spoilers - Discussion

Seeeeee! We all have something to look forward to this season. It won't be as boring as we thought.

Oh I'm sure Steve Boy was hoodwinked a bit with his "preview". I mean... since Jillian's Ed (a late arrival in her episode #1), how many F1s are not shown in an episode #1 intro video? Well... all Roberto did was say Ali looks beautiful as we see him prepare himself.

One thing I remember about Ali's promo... Roberto was often shown protecting her in some way in his scenes, like skylining over LA or elevated in The Lion King. (Later in the finale, we got the hungry sting-rays they were feeding and her usual squealing high pitch.) Yet the promo also shows her on the phone... "Are you serious?"... chasing an unseen Justin Rated R down the stairs, fully demonstrating she needs little protection!

Again, I tend to think the promos give an interesting perspective on both the lead and the potential finalist.

William was the star in Ashley's promo and much of her crying was more for him than Bentley... in the promo, that is... if not the main show. Yet William voice-overs the key word "marry" over a shot of JP. JP is the one with all the confidence in the voice-overs, taking charge during the drama when "things are getting out of hand". (By the way, that final shot of her under-the-covers matches what William said he would do in an episode #5 voice-over... "I want to curl up in bed right now and not wake up.")

Emily still wanted to meet her husband (over Jefie in a group)... and she did feel "he" was ready to be both that and a dad (cue library scene in Prague). Something though was still unresolved there, however... since Joe from Los Angeles had to voice-over that "leap of faith" line.

You folks have to play Eagle Eyes and Eagle Ears with Sean's promo and see if any of it suggests anything important. I still can't make heads or tails out of the voice-overs. I think Sean uses "optimistic" over Catherine. Yet he also curiously says "I’m gonna spend the rest of my life with just one woman and I can’t wait." On the surface, there is nothing odd with that line... except nobody has said it before. It suggests something is not finished with more than one woman... or just she thinks so and Sean is giving her "a message". Who knows? Even though the editors love to pick our brains, re-watching old promos long after the season is over and the final couple is D-O-N-E with each other... or married... gives you an "I get it now" reaction.

Funny business with those roses... this is a bizarre trend these last three seasons.

In Ben Flajnik's FIRST promo from December 2011 (different than episode #1), he tosses one into the nighttime surf (shot when he dumped somebody in Puerto Rico). This is after Courtney wins the rose and after all of the skinnydipping. Ben then voice-overs that he is not sure how to handle it. Ben's second promo removed the surf rose dump.

Emily was clinging on to hers dressed in black. We also saw others sitting outside on vines. At the time, some of us thought she wasn't completely over Big Ricky (something Brad fussed about his season)... protecting her family until the day she dies. Now... in hindsight... it is more confusing to figure out. Except that she is seen after two fathers on the show crying... Tony and Doug (both about their sons... for different reasons).

This time, a "blindsighted" Sean drops one off a bannister and it falls apart...

It FEELS like Sean, who uses "want" more than once like Jason did in his promo, is not quite "there" yet. Something is still not settled. Again... the newer promo may be different.

That highlighted line was said last season about Emily and not about anyone this season. That and the line "it blinded me so badly" came from when he was sent home last season (check-out his intro video, I think). Sean's entire voice over in the promo is one of the things that have given me pause about the spoilers.

I saw a reference in this thread to RS being sued by TPTB once again, so I'm putting it here.
They are sueing RS (He wrote in his column today) because RS posted complete spoilers, including the F1 and F2.

RS says that they can't prove that RS contacted anyone involved with the production of "The Bachelor" for his information.
He says that he didn't contact anyone involved in the production of "The Bachelor", including the cast and crew.
Do you think that the producers will put RS out of business?
If so, he'll still be able to give his satiraical recaps, but not post spoilers anymore.
Can the producers really sue RS and stop him from spoiling - if they can't prove where RS got his spoilers?

Well, RS's Dad lives in Dallas, and RS used to work for his Dad.
He can go back to working for his Dad. :Smiley:

I snipped for brevity, Mozart, but I suspect that either he went after the spoilers (perhaps he hired someone to follow production or other suspect methods of invading privacy, like airline hacking or email hacking) or the spoilers came to him, meaning that they still haven't outed the production mole or other people in the know shared info freely. I doubt that Steve would have resorted to his old methods to get spoilers since they violated his settlement. Our legal eagles here can speak to tort interference, but I'd assume that, if the spoilers came to him without any solicitation by him, it's within the law and the previous settlement.

I think that cast members or their friends/family contacted RS (as opposed to RS being the one to initiate the contact.) I think they do that because they are afraid of RS attacking and trashing them . It's good to have RS on your side, if you can do it without any electronic trace. RS is not going to burn a source.

Any information we share has been given to us.

We have had several issues in dealing with RS' bullying tactics here at our Forum.

I just want it known that this site would sleuth and discuss the show even if we didn't get inside spoiler information.

Hacking travel databases for reservations. Like Love's post reads, it's one thing if someone gives you the spoiler, i.e. R is the F1, vs. soliciting the info via bribe or invading personal accounts that are locked (not social media profiles).

I think in the past it was thrown around that RS got his "definite F1" predictions when a paparazzi was able to snap the final days...
