Hi there,

Just making an observation that in general I don't feel asking somebody that particular question is something that would be taboo or invasive. I am very open about those things, in principle because I feel it is something to be celebrated.

Not a dig at any particular poster, just how I feel about the question.

Well, I was responding to OfficeRules, who was responding to the question as to whether it was rude to ask the question on twitter if your child is adopted or biological. First of all, if one has a public twitter, people will ask all kinds of questions. It seems some poster here was called rude. I was responding, that if someone on twitter asked that question, I would not think it rude. I in NO way inferred that you were ashamed of your children. I was addressing the inquiry on twitter.

Oh, and I am pretty sure that my Mother is not ashamed of me, either.

I forgot to add IMO.

Can't speak for anyone else but I wouldn't ask anyone that on twitter because I'd never say it to them irl. I probably would ignore the tweet if it were directed at me but I'm clearly not Jeremy. :Nod:

Back to the next lead, do we have anyone other than Roberto, Sean, and possibly (but unlikely) Ryan Lochte?

But don't they vanilla down their leads no matter who it is? They'll a few obvious things into the show, but we rarely get to see them dance or crack a spontaneous joke ... shame, really.

if so, then Roberto and anyone non-caucasian new-one would have better chance then

Just because Jeremy isn't offended doesn't mean it's not an offensive thing to say. And, it's doesn't have anything to do with high moral standards - it's my personal way of living that if something MIGHT offend something (and it obviously can and has, to some of our posters here), it's better to be safe than sorry. Of course, on twitter, Bachelor contestants constantly get tweets saying things like "you're a slut", "you are ugly and fat", etc., so asking if someone's kid is adopted is probably pretty tame, in comparison.

Also, I do think that there is a difference in saying on twitter and in saying in front of them and their child IRL, so maybe that's why there's a difference in opinion.

Differing opinions make the world interesting. If we all felt the same way, how boring would life be?!

What the? I can't...have we really sunken to criticizing people about comments they make? I graduated HS a LOOOONG time ago and sandbox games don't interest me. If I wanted to play kid games, I would get off the internet and go find my own. Here's a tip, don't mount the high horse when on a message board with random strangers...just sayin'. How about we get back to sleuthing and not denigrate what San and Love have worked so hard to cultivate. Let's give it a rest and not have a repeat of last season.

NOW, I want Roberto as the lead. He's a lot more interesting and engaging than any of the suggested leads from the last season...and...just...SMOKIN' hot

The way I look at is are people are entitled to feel offended by comments/questions directed to other people, but since they don't know whether the "askee" was offended, perhaps they should keep their feelings of outrage to themselves? Or if they must express them, do it more respectfully, especially since they are bothered by the supposed lack of respect by the "offender"?

And along these lines, if someone says something directly to you that offends you and that you consider to be rude, responding back in an equally offensive and rude manner seems a bit hypocritical, no?

Back on topic, is there really still a chance that Roberto is the new Bachelor??!!! Keeping fingers crossed. :eyesigh:
