I think the fact that so many of Ben's girls ended up on BP3 really tells the tale. I don't know if it's the lighting on that show or the make-up or the ridiculously long hair extensions, but those girls look really worn out.

Are the Bachelor shows in Canada and the UK affiliated with Next/MF? I ask because HuffPo has an article out today with photos/bios of 5 of the women who will be on The Bachelor Canada. They're going to release 5 bios per week until the show's premiere. These initial 5 women looked like normal, every day kind of gals.

It's an interesting launch strategy for the show. Just wondering if they might incorporate something similar in the US.

Unfortunately, the existence and relative success of the BP shows added the new requirement that the producers caste as much for BP3 as for Ben. That's really why he got such an unsavory slate of women IMO. Hopefully the dismal ratings of BP3 will have them rethinking that strategy.

I've only seen 3 episodes of BP (all from this season) and if the partying that goes on during the show is any indication at all, then these girls party hard and that will def. take it's toll on anyone.

From what I've gathered - although it's under the Bachelor franchise umbrella there are entirelly different producers in charge of the Bachelor Canada show. I'd heard that initially they were having a bit of difficulty getting applicants but don't know that as a fact. I'm not crazy about the lead from what I've seen - doesn't appeal to me personally.

After hearing this general sentiment on these boards over the past month or so, I hope I can dispell this rumor. Sean's sister has not been "campaigning" for him to get the gig. Nor has she told her friends to vote numerous times on online polls to increase his chances (I read that somewhere in a thread a while back). Yes, like NCGal said (below), Shay definitely tweeted her support, but was never "actively" doing anything to attempt to persuade TPTB in that direction. And neither has Sean, for that matter.

Thanks for saying this lori as it's always the feeling I got. Question for you, if Sean isn't the Bachelor, do you think he would consider appearing on Courtney Kerr's new Bravo show? I do know they've become friends and I would really enjoying seeing him on t.v. again is a less serious role.

I watch the UK version but I don't know how much these shows are affiliated to the original US. With TheBachUK, they only state at the end of each episode that the show was based on The Bachelor from Mike Fleiss or something like that. I think the format is a little different also, In the end they only choose a girlfriend and there's no proposal. Frankly I think the UK version is an even bigger joke than this one.

The Netherlands has their own version too, and it's NOTHING compared to this one! Be happy with what you have with this version.. be very happy!

Totally Agree!! I forgot about the long extensions! they all looked so fake to me!! My fingers are crossed for a nice group of girls this time around! I hope they don't cast them with BP4 in mind!!

please - drama queens is a staple in this current formula - I dont' see that changing.

When is The Bachelor supposed to air and does anyone know if it will be on at the same time as The Bachelor Canada? I'm thinking that in Canada we'll have our Bachelor Canada followed by The Bachelor. Bachelor Canada starts airing Oct. 3rd (Wed.) so just wondering if they'll be airing at the same time or not. (Can't believe that they're going to try to compete with Survivor).

You have to wonder what that feels like when a guy (like Arie) who loves to run the fingers through the hair comes up with hardware. I don't know anything about extensions, but can't you tell that they're extenstions if you've got fingers in the hair? Cool it with the spray tans and the extensions, esp. if Arie is the bachelor. He has a farmer tan. I wonder if they'll get him a fake tan, too.

I agree. I think there are stereotypical "characters" that Fleiss likes to cast for the drama quotient. And it makes me prefer to watch the 'ette over TB because I feel like tptb rake women over the coals with their awful stereotypes. All the cat fights just make me cringe. I know it makes for "good" TV, but would it kill them to have a season full of Ashley H's and Emily O's?
