Actually the ratings were up from the previous season of the Bachelorette. Don't know about the ratings for the Bachelor but both were renewed.

I don't think so. I know that most of the episodes were down from Ashley's season. Someone said the finale was up. I don't know about that. I do know there was lots of talk about how ratings were down. I'm pretty sure BP is down too but they had the Olympics to compete with. The Bachelor always does better although Ben's season was down and I believe Ashley's were as well. Even still they're pretty cheap to make in comparison to regular shows.

The ratings compared to the average season. The lowest viewed episode was Episode 3 by a long shot but otherwise it did just fine.

I guess I'll have to take that back. I read about the low ratings early on and thought it continued all season. Must have been the "Arie effect".

Emily's finale was down 11% from Ashley's and the ATFL was down 5%. The bigger drop happened during Ben's Bachelor season when his finale numbers were down 42% from Brad's and ATFR down 33%. Both shows have seen continual decline in numbers in that critical 18 to 49 age group. Makes sense why they are dragging their feet on a Bachelor lead choice since Ben's season saw horrible % drops.

Sean IS NOT BORIng he has CLASS which Ben and some others have lacked.

In viewers and young adults, The Bachelorette generated ABC's biggest summertime entertainment numbers in the time period in almost 6 years � since 8/27/06.

ABC's "The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose" grew year to year by double digits in Adults 18-49 (+14% - 2.8/8 on 8/1/11).

There were up in their key demo which is what is most important to MF. I think Arie or Sean will get huge numbers. I don't think that has anything to do with no announcement yet.

Wow. They're really on the downward slide and Emily's season was the worst of all.

It sounds like according to Nielsen's the numbers were down definitely, but then according to the other source the percentage could be up and that is entirely possible, too.
A bigger percentage of viewing audience may have been viewing that episode but it could have been less in actual viewers. If that make sense.
