The Bachelor 17 - Speculation/Spoilers - Discussion

Arie's dad, in the interview yesterday, said that impact of show on his racing career has been "tremendous." It's a fact that the raised profile helps the contestants who are on tv. At least something good comes of it.

I think Arie being the Bachelor would definitely help Indycar so I'm sure they'd be very happy if he's chosen. Because of that I don't believe Arie would be risking anything career-wise by being on the show.

That's why if he really wanted it I would be bummed for him if they choose Sean (or anyone) over him. He doesn't want to be a bridesmaid anymore. I don't see how Sean would make for better televsion or a better lead than Arie. :greenman:

Disclaimer: I gave up caring who gets picked to be the lead or who gets the FR on this show a long time ago. I just try to watch for fun and entertainment now.

So, I guess I am playing "Devil's Advocate?" here. There were a lot of people who thought Emily was too boring to carry a show and well, we can all see how her season turned out. Not only intriguing to the bitter end, but look at all the entertainment we have going on post season. Emily, the boring, sweet southern girl that just keeps on giving.

It might be a good idea at this point in time if TPTB did have Sean as the lead. A nice, mostly scandal-free season? I'm laughing at myself as I type that.

I had no idea what you were talking about, so I looked up Jeremy's Twitter, and it appears that he was talking about the rumor that Emily was the one doing the sexting - and not anyone who might still be in the running for TB. I am not defending Jeremy, but those who replied to that tweet of his were all mentioning Emily and saying that it wasn't cool to post something like that without knowing if it is true or not.

However, I noticed that Jeremy's profile lists him as "a dad", and there is a picture of a child running into his arms. I had no idea that Jeremy now has a child. I wonder who the mother is?

But, in order to not take this thread off topic, I would be surprised to see Lochte as the next Bachelor, that is if he is truly interested. I personally kind of doubt that Lochte would be willing to give up his newfound fame in order to abide by the secrecy that he would be bound by, should he accept TB role. I have mixed feelings about both Arie and Sean, though, since neither of them would have any control over the edit that they would receive. But, it would be funny if neither of them are interested anymore, which would leave Fleiss scrambling to fill the spot.

So if per his own dad Arie's career has benefited from TBach, does that mean he didn't go on for love, as some say the increased exposure for PW means Jef wasn't in it for love as well? :Racecar: :Drinkwater:

No. It means that just as this show has ultimately benefited other rejectees (like Melissa) it has benefited Arie. Nothing more , nothing less. It helps the leads, and it helps some of the other contestants as well. It doesnt mean that all of them had ulterior motives. I'm so happy for Arie!

I think Arie's main purpose going to Twitter HQ the other day was to get verified. Seems like he really wants that blue check mark by his name. If he were going to be The Bachelor I don't think he necessarily would have gone, as all leads in recent times get verified and it would be taken care of soon enough.
