With the Lochte PR spin cycle, breaking JEM scandal, etc..MF's plate might be a little full at the moment. He's getting quite a bit of free press from others and easily keeping the show in the news without much effort at all.

Add in the fact that he has a lot of fans waiting with baited breath "in the off season" for the announcement, he must be beside himself with glee that his 10 year old show can still generate so much chatter.

His manager is Erika Wright, wife of Johnny Wright, the music producer. She has been called his sports agent in the press, as well. Shawn Zenga is also a manager for the entertainment industry. It's also been said he doesn't have a "Hollywood agent."

@BenFlajnik Had dinner with Ari last night b/c he is up in Sonoma driving IndyCar all weekend. His is a solid dude who has his head on straight. I can see why everyone liked him on the show.

With last season's Bachelorette Emily Maynard happily coupled off, it's about time to start weighing in on picks for the next Bachelor!

Sean Lowe, Maynard's sweet, upbeat finalist (who was shocked when she dumped him), has been widely rumored to be in line for the job.

But he's not the only one: Olympic star swimmer Ryan Locthe – who's been spotted partying in Beverly Hills and Las Vegas post-Games – is also reportedly in the running.

We can only imagine the water-related dates that the hot tub-happy Bachelor folks will conjure up if Lochte is their man. But Lowe also seems to be an appropriate choice, given his popularity with viewers and the franchise's penchant for recycling contestants. There was previously speculation that Maynard's other foiled finalist, Arie Luyendyk, was being considered as well.

On Wednesday, show host Chris Harrison Tweeted "I feel a #Bachelor decision coming soon!!!"

So, should it be the very athletic (but not so articulate) Lochte? Or the familiar, heartbroken Lowe?

I will be seriously disappointed if Arie is not the next Bachelor. :bigsigh:
That said, I think Sean is a good guy & has more personality than we were shown this past season, so I know I would watch him as the Bach, too.

But Lochte or any other athlete - no!! Just would NOT be interested......

IMO, Lochte is a big name so that is why he was put into that poll. I do not believe however that either tptb or he are seriously thinking to do it. I would hate not to be able to watch Arie but it sounds like it is probably Sean.

It is hard to believe that we may never see Arie kiss another woman on our television screen. I'd really like to be able to see someone other than Emily opposite him. And it would be fun to see him as the central focus of each episode. That would be the best part. But I'm leaving it in fate's hands right now. After the big scandal, I'm not sure I'd wish the job on anyone. Well, maybe Lochte could handle it since scandal is probably expected of him. But Sean and Arie are too nice.

^^^I agree. I just posted in Sean's thread I hope that he's developed some Teflon skin if he's the one chosen. I wanted to see Sean on the next Most Eligible Dallas show on Bravo if wanted to do TV. He could highlight his charitable causes with his social/romantic life stuff. The show's pretty silly and fluffy but good for exposure without the degree of scandal of TB.
