I really hope the producers reached out to Ryan Lochte and slapped him across the face and told him to start acting his age. Someone posted a link to an article about his PR people back a few pages in this thread and I'd recommend it, because it was so interesting and so good. They're making a total mess of him and if they continue on, NO ONE is going to want to hear anything about him by the time January rolls around. He will be so over-exposed he'll be a joke.

Thanks I will check it out! I too hope it's not Lochte, if it is then I will really know this show has jumped the shark.

Let them give Lochte his own late night dating show. He'll think he deserves his own franchise anyway. It could run for months, not weeks. He's not exactly prime time material unless he's in a swimming pool.

I just saw Matt Lauer interview Lochte on Today.
No way could this guy carry off a series. He would make M look like a scholar. He is a talented swimmer, but he is no actor and appeared very uncomfortable in front of the camera. It was painful watching him.
He made a point of wanting to start training for Rio, so I have difficulty seeing him give this up for TB unless training time was specifically worked into his contract.

He can take months off of training and still be fine for Rio. Phelps took time off after Beijing. Dara Torres took years off before returning to the sport - at a rather advanced age for a swimmer. She took silver in Beijing at age 40.

True, but he made a point of saying he wanted to get back into the water immediately which did not sound like a statement that would be made if he would be leaving town in a matter of weeks.
Now I know who he reminds me of when he speaks...Jeff Spicoli (Sean Penn) from Fast Times at Ridgemont High. His inflection and mannerisms remind of him. But I guess Sean never quite rocked the bod.

Tiz - I love Dara Torres. She was my inspiration to get to the gym at my rather old age :giggle:

Whomp whomp it's all about the hype these days...empty hyperboles & hype...its the name of the showbiz game pretty little liars drop hints and "spoilers" that keep them in the news cycle -- they're much better at it than tptb actually.
