Could you tell that Emily was upset about something in general around the same time she ended up finding out about Arie's past? Did you know something was bothering her even though you weren't sure what it was exactly?

Jef Holm: No, when I hung out with Emily, every time, it was just about us. We never really got into anything about the other guys and I actually tried to once in awhile, just because like I know it's a weird situation with her and for her.

And so I would just want to talk to her about all the other guys. I'm not like -- I mean, obviously Arie and I talked a little bit about stuff every night -- I'm not like a jealous guy and I don't think Arie is either.

And so, I wanted to know stories about the other guys and how the relationships were and stuff like that and her to open up about it, but when we hung out for the most part, it was just that we focused on us and we focused on developing a relationship between the two of us, and it turned into a pretty cool thing.

Interesting.

Archer23 wrote:I find Jef's comments about the Arie/Cassie situation fascinating and enlightening. I know CH and Cassie have tried to downplay the situation, but Jef's comments make me question that a little bit.

The footage conflicts with Love's info that the Arie/Cassie thing was a non-issue. Jef's interview corroborates that Arie came home wondering the reason that Emily kept interrogating him about something of which he had no clue. In my world, if Emily knew about Cassie and kept pestering Arie about it without directly asking him about that relationship, then Cassie/Arie was part of the issue in Emily trusting Arie. If Arie was assured "Emily knows about Cassie and is cool with it" and therefore doesn't tell her, and Emily actually doesn't know until Prague and is told to coerce it out of Arie--or, even worse, decides to manipulate him into telling him without directly confronting him about her knowledge--then it's this massive miscommunication and a stomping ground of mistrust for both of them. Emily then begins lying to Arie if she pretends like everything is ok but pulls away from him or starts acting when the Cassie thing is eating her up. If this situation isn't openly discussed and drives her away from Arie, that's disgusting on the part of the show.

RS is correct here that Emily was angry. It wasn't a non-issue. What else happens this season then?

I'm sure Jef had an idea from his sister/SIL that Emily had money because he knew the story of her Ricky's death and had to know he was a Hendricks. So, I'm sure he never felt uncomfortable about his own wealth around her. I wonder why it's so hard to not read in that article that they talked alot, about alot of different things that mattered to them about themselves to get to know each other, and establish that friendship base.

I think it rubs people the wrong way because of the game play aspect of it has a contrived feeling to it. Like it's about winning a competition instead of finding love. Especially, when it appears that there are others there who just try to be themselves and hope that's enough for some kind of connection.

I'm pages back catching up, but when I read the REAL interview, not summarized, it didn't sound like he meant to say he was playing a "game" at all. He did have a way he wanted to approach this whole thing, hence the term strategy, but that can be quite different from playing a game.

Just give me something that looks like a real love story to help me escape into my own version of fantasy for a while. And maybe against the odds one of those stories will actually survive real life. Nothing wrong with a little hope, right?

Hey, I went to the CEO of People Water's HUGE house and I met Jef. I didn't like Jef for his money and his friends' money. I liked Jef for Jef.

According to this one site, People Water is doing quite well and Jef's net worth is 3 million. Who knows how much Holm senior is worth, but a lot more than that.

Emily has money of her own. Why would she care what Jef's worth? I think she fell for Jef because he's fun, charming and over all has a good heart. Her family has made sure she's going to always be able to care for Ricki. The Hendricks aren't hurting for money either. So anything going to Ricki is going to be substantial. I've read that Emily has the business the Ricky owned before he passed and she's part owner of a mine her dad owns. For people to keep bringing up the money issue where Emily is concerned is kinda silly.

At least with Jef , her family doesn't have to worry that he is after her money either.

Thanks for posting this..

Word to the bolded, and what I've been stating as well. I can't wait for Monday night to hear more about their conversations, and what really advances their relationship even further along. Especially when they get to talking about their family values, etc., which is at the top of Emily's list.

And he's kinda arrogant about it in a funny/cute way IMO. LOL. Like "FYI peeps, yep, she chased me out of all the guys and we have amazing chemistry, thanks for playing!"

Emily makes him feel confident. Post show.
Most definitely.

Well Jef did bag the hot gal out of 1 in million...wouldn't that make you confident, if a guy?

I believe the people who are bashing her as a gold digger need to read this; although it's just so crass to even have to bring this up at all, it is worth putting it in their face to read.

Jef never says Emily knew about the Cassie/Arie thing early on and was waiting for Arie to say something, just that Arie felt like she did not trust him completely. We don't know when Arie told Jef he felt that way because he could have felt that way right after their Dollywood date and I don't think Emily knew about the Arie/Cassie thing at that point. I think Emily found out while in Prague and talked it over with him that night. It was probably her intuition that told her something was not right, but we still aren't sure exactly when she found this information out.

I think by the end of the night it did become a non-issue because Emily is back to making out with Arie. If she was that angry with him than she probably wouldn't have made out with him. JMHO

Veg, in the preview, Em did not look angry to me. I think the issue was Arie not coming clean or sharing that with her; maybe he just felt that it was nothing important (very short relationship a long time ago). I think we should watch it play out.
Btw, RS claimed Em flew off the handle because she was so angry. I don't see anything of sorts, but we'll see next week.

I see this as just more of Chris Harrison blowing smoke up our skirts. He always works hard in his blogs and interviews to play up the non-F1 guys in the hopes that we will all be fooled. I know that whoever Chris is championing with all of his "The Rise of ______" and what-not, is definitely not the F1, and I think that's exactly what's happening here.
