Jef's interview corroborates that Arie came home wondering the reason that Emily kept interrogating him about something of which he had no clue. In my world, if Emily knew about Cassie and kept pestering Arie about it without directly asking him about that relationship, then Cassie/Arie was part of the issue in Emily trusting Arie. If Arie was assured "Emily knows about Cassie and is cool with it" and therefore doesn't tell her, and Emily actually doesn't know until Prague and is told to coerce it out of Arie--or, even worse, decides to manipulate him into telling him without directly confronting him about her knowledge--then it's this massive miscommunication and a stomping ground of mistrust for both of them. Emily then begins lying to Arie if she pretends like everything is ok but pulls away from him or starts acting when the Cassie thing is eating her up. If this situation isn't openly discussed and drives her away from Arie, that's disgusting on the part of the show.
RS is correct here that Emily was angry. It wasn't a non-issue. What else happens this season then?
Jef never says Emily knew about the Cassie/Arie thing early on and was waiting for Arie to say something, just that Arie felt like she did not trust him completely. I think Emily found out while in Prague and talked it over with him that night.
I think by the end of the night it did become a non-issue because Emily is back to making out with Arie. If she was that angry with him than she probably wouldn't have made out with him. JMHO
I never said that Jef said that Emily knew about Arie/Cassie before Prague, did I? Jef did say this much though:
Jef Holm: That's a good question. I didn't find out until after I had gotten home and it was really interesting. It was really weird to me because Arie and I had developed a really good friendship and communicated about everything.
And it's so strange to me because he would come back home from the hotel after going on a date, and he'd be like -- we talked about it all the time -- and he would be like, "Emily just feels like there's something that I'm like hiding from her or something that I'm holding back, and I have no idea what it is."
And obviously I had no idea that he dated one of the producers, so I was just like, "Well, what do you think it is?" And he's like, "I have no idea. I just get the feeling that she just doesn't trust me or that there's something up." And of course when I got home and I figured that out, I was just like, "Well, duh!" (Laughs)
So, if Emily doesn't find out until Prague, which we both suspect, but Arie comes back to the hotel and shares the bolded quotes with Jef, when does that conversation occur?
Maybe it is a non-issue, maybe it isn't. We won't know until Monday, and I'll be happy to eat crow in your honor if it just blows over.

I'm under the impression, based on previews, that Emily finds out early on their date in Prague and continues the rest of the date trying to get him to open up about it. Finally, when they are at dinner he tells her about it and they move on.
As to Arie telling Jef "Emily just feels like there's something that I'm like hiding from her or something that I'm holding back, and I have no idea what it is," we aren't exactly sure at what point in the filming this discussion occurs at. If this happened in Prague and Arie did not tell Emily about dating Cassie then I guess we can assume he said that while in Prague, but until then we don't know when that convo happened. That is all I'm trying to say.
Also, I don't need anyone to eat crow, I was just responding to your post. It's not that big of a deal at the end of the day because this is just a tv show!

Jef's net worth.
Let's be blunt. Those types of internet sites cannot really "know" anyone's net worth. They are guessing from whatever limited information they have been able to find. Public companies publish financial statements, but non-public ones pretty much never do, and you can't just call up the IRS and get a copy of their tax returns.
I believe that both Emily and Jef have "enough," and it would be evident in their conversations, but places like that website give me the creeps.
Just give me something that looks like a real love story to help me escape into my own version of fantasy for a while. And maybe against the odds one of those stories will actually survive real life. Nothing wrong with a little hope, right?

LOL! I must have blanked that out. Maybe not so good for the women, but then maybe it depends on the who the lead is and the impression you make. It has to confirm what we already felt about Jef...he was on Emily's radar the first night and was safe. Then we know what happens the rest of the way.pavalygurl wrote:Piper61 wrote:We may be seeing a lot more of that in the next Bachelorette series. LOL. Jef: Emily's In It for Love, Not Money
By PAIGE FEIGENBAUM
June 21, 2012
After his elimination from The Bachelorette last month, ETonline spoke to Joe Gendreau. In that conversation, he raised concerns that Emily Maynard was digging Jef Holm because he had deep pockets. Today, Jef was on rumor control to clear up this misconception.
"We have never talked about financial things or money," he said of his intimate conversations with Emily. "She mentioned to me, on our next stop, that she thought I still lived at home. She had no idea about my financial status. I never knew anything about hers." He has had to deal with girlfriends with "expensive tastes" in the past, thus explaining his Chloe handbag reference a few episodes ago.

Arie may have accidentally let it slip to ETonline last week that his current status is "fiance." Jef became "really good friends" with the race car driver during filming, but doesn't know if there's a wedding on the horizon. "I don't know if he's engaged or not. If he is, that's awesome. I'm pretty confident he'll invite me to the wedding."
That could get complicated if Arie ties the knot with Emily. "I know for a fact it wouldn't be awkward between Arie and me, but I would wonder if it would be okay with Emily," he worried. "We had something different than what she had with any of the other guys. I would want to be there because I love and care for Emily and Arie."

The final outcome is all speculation for several more weeks, so Jef could also potentially be Emily's husband-to-be. "I'm flattered that people think that it's me," he said. "I definitely developed strong feelings for Emily, but as far as where I am at right now, I'm still crazy for her."
The Utah native is confident his strong roots in faith and family make him suitable for the role of father to Emily's daughter Ricki and husband to her. A self-proclaimed "child at heart," Jef could see himself relating well to kids. "I told Emily that I would love to skateboard with Ricki and play soccer." Only time will tell if he gets that opportunity to meet the apple of Emily's eye. If he does assume the title of stepfather, boys won't have to be intimidated by this papa when Ricki's ready to date. "I'll be waiting at the door with two skateboards instead of intimidating him with a shotgun!," he laughed.

Jef teased "a big surprise elimination this week" on The Bachelorette. On the upcoming episode, it is revealed that fellow frontrunner Arie neglected to be upfront with Emily about his former girlfriend being a producer on the show. This "shocking" news also took Jef by surprise because they had shared so much with one another. In retrospect, Jef remembers Arie being concerned that Emily felt he was "holding something back. She doesn't trust me." Now that the truth has surfaced, Jef understands her hesitation because "she didn't address it immediately with him. She kept trying to get him to open up and talk about it." Will Arie survive the rose ceremony?
To witness "a huge changing moment" in Emily and Jef's relationship, watch The Bachelorette on Monday night on ABC.

No problemo! I was just clarifying my statements since they seemed to be misconstrued. When I look at Jef's comments and compare it to the timeline that Emily most likely finds out about Cassie in Prague, then those comments could only be made to Jef in Prague. After Prague, the guys travel separately and are sequestered from each other except for the RCs. When would Arie be able to say those things to him? Based on Jef's comments, it seems to me that Arie is guessing the reason for Emily's mistrust, which, to me, indicates that she doesn't outwardly confront him and Arie's working under the assumption that Emily has already been told about Cassie. They've both been lied to. Arie supposedly tells Emily this episode that he's falling for her. If he cuts her off by confessing his feelings, then the issue might not be resolved by Prague. I could see Emily letting it blow over temporarily if Arie confesses that he's in love with her, and yet, the doubt and mistrust remains into the HTDs.
For the JEM love story's sake, I do hope that the issue resolves in Prague.
I agree that it's a TV show! Thanks for the friendly reminder. I always enjoy your posts, and I apologize if I was defensive. Long day today.

this can be a misunderstanding if Arie thought that Emily knew about the situation with Cassie and did not do something else thinking she was talking about something else omg i just can't i hope it's not that
I think he was just told not to say anything by producers and they are always ( for the most part) on camera so maybe he was fustraited and wanted get advice from his in a round about way without having to say what it was and putting the whole situation out there.

I don't think I've seen anyone being a naysayer, maybe I don't pay enough attention since I have no horse in this race. The impression I got, I think from a Jef person (Shoepie maybe?) was that Emily wouldn't go for a guy of significantly less wealth than her own. I'm assuming she will want to continue to be a stay at home mom. Have to agree with dw_a_mom, those sites are guesstimates (though I'm sure in the ballpark) and pretty creepy.

Which leads me to think even more that he (Arie) was led to believe Emily already knew about his dating Cassie. Otherwise, it would be the obvious thing.
