My gosh. Jef just had an idea how he wanted to go into this experience, like everybody else. He said he wanted to just be friends first, and he was. And then his offishness paid off.
Travis had a strategy, as well. Maybe Arie's strategy was to kiss her as much as possible. Every season they all come in with a strategy of some sort.
And then he told her. It didn't seem to bother her after he told her. It still doesn't seem to bother her.
Jef is a very nice guy, a good guy, not a villain.
But, I guess this is to be expected because even more than ever you can't deny that he probably won. That interview was pretty convincing.
For you, what was more convincing, being there or reading the recent blogger's view of the call?

The speed with which the F2s find themselves either married or in serious, committed relationships is one of the most curious things to me about this show. I've been wishing someone would do a legitimate study/analysis about why and how it happens.umngirl wrote:Archer23 wrote:Aw, don't be. Obviously, it was a good strategic plan seeing as how it worked out. First by attracting some attention i.e. getting an usual haircut, then riding in on a skate board to make her take notice of him in a sea of 25 faces then playing hard to get and appearing to be aloof. She didn't have to take the bait and any of those things could have sent him home. His risk paid off.
I think it rubs people the wrong way because of the game play aspect of it has a contrived feeling to it. Like it's about winning a competition instead of finding love. Especially, when it appears that there are others there who just try to be themselves and hope that's enough for some kind of connection.
Let me stop being silly for a second and say that NCGal, I really love your thoughtful, measured responses.
Thank you. Most of the time, I am most fascinated by the inner workings of the show and the biz angle of it. Their moves intrigue me. This time I am quite bummed for sweet Sean as I think he's a keeper.
Agreed. He will probably be married long before Emily, Jef, Arie, and maybe most of the other guys from this season. I mean, all he needs to do is visit his thread and he will have multiple options.

Lol..this is true. Perhaps he discovered the key to happiness..being the F2 on TB. I imagine lots of gals will be saying Come Over when the show is over.
:shocked!: Holy crap...I read that quickly as "fall hook, line and sinker for his baby maker...OMG.

because imo most of the leads choose the wrong person (comptability, lifestyle, and all) and they feel the need to keep the relationship going in the public eye while the final 2 lives his/her life and find a good match in the real world

Jef's interview is cute! I like that he's "done reality TV dating" and wouldn't be The Bachelor. They sound happy together!!
The whole "strategy" aspect doesn't bother me. It wasn't a strategy to win The Ette and then use his F1 status to dump her, promote his company, date other pretty girls as a micro celebrity or whatever. It was a strategy to get her attention in a sea of 25 others, and from what I can tell, done with his honest intentions to get to know her and potentially fall in love.

Big: You know, Manhattan has a lot of beautiful women.
Carrie: What an amazing observation!
Big: But the thing is, after awhile, you just wanna be with the one who makes you laugh.

I'm not trying to be fiesty just legit don't see how him saying he had a strategy is not trustworthy?
Some people thought that in last week's episode, Jef told Emily that it WASN'T a strategy...therefore he lied and is not trustworthy. But if you listen to their conversation, he never says that.
In Monday's episode, he did admit to want to keep Emily guessing. But he added, "Yeah but I don't want you to be guessing too much
And then came "I'm freaking crazy about you", so yummy. I just about melted

YEP...the money statement. That was the most important thing about that convo. I am sure Emily thinks so too.

I second that! I used to just follow Alanna around and (silently) agree with her and now, this season, I feel like I am just wandering aimlessly through these threads, looking for someone to fill the void
