I think his story is off too. So they called him about another driver, but when he mentions wanting to do it, they suddenly tell him that they have everyone they need for the show?! I'm not buying it. Cassie recruited him.

Because it's sweet? I know my husband is always sending me tweets that have hidden messages in them. For instance we could have been joking about a movie with flowers and he'll send out a tweet with the flowers. My fave was recently when he took a pic with Latin produce guy named Alex holding shitakes! hehehe I loved it!

So I don't know if he is sending her secret messages or not but if he is I think it's super sweet.

Speaking of hidden messages the one blog I am anxiously awaiting is the one for episode 7. I really do think Emily has been making a point to say such positives of Jef. I believe it was something she wished brad did in his, so I m anxious to see how it pans out on episode 7 because she has a date with Arie and Jef. Then I believe the wall kiss is that day so def. will be interesting or maybe not. Hugesmile

Nope - Brad actually did it - butter her up in his blogs. There was major trouble in paradise with Monday nights / Tuesday mornings plenty of cold shoulders and disagreements. He made sure to mention her and sing her praises in his blog. No other leads laid it on as heavy as Brad did then and Emily is doing now. But Brad was pretty desparate IMO.
Hope thats not the case for Emily this time.

Yes, of course, he could/and most likely does phone or email, or tweet, Emily directly. As has been mentioned, he was heavy on social media before, and he's no different now. If he's giving subtle clues to those close to him or fans, etc., I'm not bothered by it. I still don't consider anything he's done over the top or in your face. I think it's fun.

yeah - and for half the season a majority of the spoiled audience thought he chose Chantal, so he was def mending that. It wasn't until fridgegate during the HTDs that there was on-screen evidence that Em was F1, even though it had been showing in the edit for weeks.

TRANSCRIPT FROM THE JUNE 15TH "THE BACHELORETTE" TELECONFERENCE WITH BACHELOR ARIE LUYENDYK, JR.

"The Bachelorette" airs tonight, MONDAY, JUNE 18TH (8:00 - 10:01 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Photography is available at www.abcmedianet.com or at (818) 460-6611.

Operator: Welcome to the Disney conference call with Natalia Desrosiers as the leader. This call is being recorded. By staying on the call you are confirming that you consent to being recorded. If you do not wish to be recorded, please disconnect from the call at this time. Thank you.

Ms. Desrosiers, you may begin your call.

Natalia Desrosiers: Thank you and thanks everyone for staying on the line today. We have current contestant Arie from Scottsdale, Arizona. Arie is one of the six men competing for Emily's heart. Let's get started with this first question.

Operator: And our first question comes from the line of Jennifer Matarese, WABC-TV.

Jennifer Matarese: Hi, Arie.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Hi, how are you?

Jennifer Matarese: Good, how are you?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Doing well, doing well.

Jennifer Matarese: So, I was wondering the whole situation with Kalon the other day did you think that he was sincere in his apology to Emily or did you really think that he meant what he said and Emily did the right thing sending him home?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: I definitely think that Emily did the right thing sending him home and it was interesting to me because Emily really gave him an opportunity to apologize and he never really did. So, that's what really surprised me and I think all the guys were very disappointed in Kalon and I do think though, Emily really handled herself in a - in a manner which was unbelievable and that's why I didn't step in to - to really help her out. Because I felt like she had really handled that well.

Jennifer Matarese: OK and I'm not sure if you're allowed to talk about this or not because it, I guess, hasn't been shown yet. But there's a lot of rumors in the tabloid's and everything about you having dated a producer who works on the show, can you comment at all on that?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: All I can say is that it is addressed on the show, so it is something that we'll see in the future and I'd love for you guys to watch it play out on TV.

Jennifer Matarese: OK, fair enough, thank you.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: You're welcome.

Operator: Next question comes from the line of Beth Kwiatkowski from Reality TV World.

Elizabeth Kwiatkowski: Hello?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Hi.

Elizabeth Kwiatkowski: Oh, sorry, just checking you there. So, Emily seemed the most upset with you about how none of the guys has come forward to tell her about Kalon's baggage comment sooner. I know you regretted not saying anything and that your conversation with Emily at that night's cocktail party didn't go as well as you had hoped. So did you feel like that incident put a dent in your relationship? Like, did you feel at that point you'd have to work to get things good between you and Emily again or did you feel like Emily kind of let it go quickly and moved on?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: No, I definitely felt like I could have handled that better and you'll see on this next episode that I - that I definitely break the rules to - to make sure Emily knows, you know, where I'm coming from. And so I take a big step this week coming up and that's something that I felt I had to do after London.

Elizabeth Kwiatkowski: Sure. And when did you first hear about Kalon's "baggage" comment? Was it talking to Chris during the group date or were you actually present for the conversation the night before?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: No and that's - I was actually not present for the conversation and I did hear about it right before I saw Emily on the group date. So that's why it was kind of tough for me to swallow because I just heard the comment come from Chris, but since I didn't hear it from Kalon and I wasn't there, I felt like it really wasn't my place to say anything.

Elizabeth Kwiatkowski: OK, thank you so much.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: You're welcome.

Operator: Next question is from the line of Nancy Harrington from Pop Culture Passionistas.

Nancy Harrington: Hi, thanks for talking to us today.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Thank you for having me.

Nancy Harrington: Of course, so, do you think it's harder to be on the Bachelorette this season given the fact that Emily's looking for a father as well as a husband.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: I don't think so because, you know, I haven't watched previous seasons and as far as from my experience, I was ready to be in that role and I have dated a woman that had two children before so I know that it's a tough situation but I was - I was definitely prepared for it. I just don't know if everyone else in the house was.

Nancy Harrington: And so along that lines, now that Kalon is gone do you think that there are other guys left that aren't ready to be fathers or aren't in it for the right reasons?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Yes, I definitely think that at this point that there is still some guys, you know, on the show that, you know, are - are not there or not ready to be a father figure and are not there for - for the right reasons.

Nancy Harrington: Are you willing to give us any names?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: No, I can't, but you'll watch it all unfold you know I think that - I think that this week you will definitely see a lot Ryan's true colors and you know that that's something that you'll see play out this week.

Nancy Harrington: Excellent, thanks so much.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: You're welcome.

Operator: And the next question is from line of Paige Feigenbaum from KITV. I'm sorry, from ET Online.

Paige Feigenbaum: Good morning, Arie.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Hey, how are you?

Paige Feigenbaum: Good, I don't know if you happened to see Emily's tweet yesterday and her reaction to Michelle Money from a few seasons ago had asked her thoughts on Kalon being cast on Bachelor Pad. Emily was pretty vicious did you happen to catch that?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: No, no, I didn't happen to catch that. I did see the news about Kalon yesterday and I also thought that was interesting that he was on Bachelor Pad. But I did not see Michelle Money or Emily's tweet about that.

Paige Feigenbaum: OK, I'll just read it to you very quickly if I can find it. You know, it's not coming up right now so I'll move on to my next question. It appears that you developed really (inaudible) feelings on the show. How difficult is it to now watch the show back and see her intimate moments with other men that you couldn't necessarily witness in person?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: I think that I knew going into the show how, you know, how she would have other relationships going on at the same time. So for me watching the show I keep that in mind and it doesn't seem to bother me because I really feel like I still feel as I did when I was on the show that we have a connection that sets us apart from everybody.

Paige Feigenbaum: Great, thank you.

Operator: And the next question is from the line of Lauren Wang from KITV.

Lauren Wang: Hey, Arie, how are you?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Doing really good.

Lauren Wang: Good, I am such a huge fan, I like I'm obsessed with you. But I just had a couple of questions. So I noticed that you kind of made fun of Doug was that intense and do you have anything against him and do you like him?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: It was intense and it was more everyone was poking fun at him; he seemed really tense before his date. And it's nothing mean spirited against Doug, and Doug and I got along on the show, and I think you kind of saw that in the last episode when, you know, after the Shakespeare moment when we're reciting Romeo that, you know, Doug and I kind of hugged and it was - it was just kind of a funny moment because the previous week we were kind of going at each other a little bit. And on the show Doug and I definitely got along.

Lauren Wang: And how strong are your feelings for Emily right now?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Still as strong as they were while I was on the show.

Lauren Wang: OK, great thank you.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: You're welcome.

Operator: The next question is from Carrie Bell from People Magazine.

Carrie Bell: Hey, Arie.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Hi.

Carrie Bell: I kind of felt, I don't know I had a weird reaction to Monday's episode. I kind of felt like she unfairly went after you guys because a lot of you had not actually heard the comment until like right before, you know, someone said something, and I felt like she was really particularly unfair to Doug because he actually did tell her and then she was like no one had my back, no one told me anything and she kind of like totally went off. And I realize like she was in the moment and totally crazy because you know, which is, I think that's fine ...

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: And I think - I think what you have to look at is that she has a very tough position and, you know, she's a single mother and she's very protective over Ricki so, you know, was it irrational? I don't think so. I just think that she's very protective over Ricki and although, you know, a lot of us got called out for not standing up for her, and because of Kalon's comment. It was unfortunate, but I don't think it really was an overreaction.

Just because she is a single mother and being on the show, she's got to be in a tough position because she's not in the house she doesn't see what goes on, you know, all hours of the day and night while she's not there and people's comments and sort of the personalities that play out while she is on a date.

So I think for her, you know, she's looking to the guys of the house like myself to let her know if someone's intent is not to be on the show to be there for her, and I think that's what she was upset about.

Carrie Bell: Well it's interesting though because I feel like I mean you made a comment that you hadn't watched past seasons but it's interesting because when the guys are the Bachelor right and then there are a bunch of girls and there's always like girl fighting and stuff, the girls always end up going to the Bachelor and being like they are being mean to me. And like he kind of or you seem like you are close to her and blah, blah, blah and he always sort of says dude, deal with your own time, we only have a limited amount of time, spend it, do this don't worry about other girls you know like all figured out.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Yes. And that ...

Carrie Bell: And its seems like you guys all had sort of that idea going in so it seems like that's maybe sort of a male reaction to it versus the female reaction where it's like I want you to stand up for me; I want you to tell me what's happening; I need your help. Do you ...

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Right.

Carrie Bell: ... think that that's maybe a fair take on that? That it is sort of a male/female reaction.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Like I said I haven't watched previous seasons but I just know from being -from being in this situation that I was in. I wanted to like absorb every moment with her, and I wanted to spend it talking about us and our future and if we were compatible or not.

And I didn't really want to dwell on the drama in the house. So for me that's kind of the standpoint I took. So and that is also what I told her at the cocktail party, and I still stand by that because you have such a limited amount of time that you really just, you know, you want to concentrate on your relationship and not, you know, talk about what's going on in the house all the time.

So it's unfortunate that I - that, you know, she looked at me to stand up for her, but I feel like she handled it so well, and she said like the perfect thing to him and basically gave him an opportunity to apologize which he didn't. And, you know, I felt like, I was very impressed by, you know, her inner mama bear and I just let her do her thing, and I felt like she handled it well.

Carrie Bell: And my last question is the Ryan thing, he's been super competitive with you like in his personal like slice of interview during the show, and I don't know if you've saw any of that like while you were there or if this is something that you all, you're seeing for the first time as you watch it. And what is your reaction to his sort of intense competition with you.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: You know, Ryan's a very competitive person, you know, in his daily life and - and you know as far as what you will see from Ryan you'll definitely see it. And you will see it in the next episode, I really feel like his true colors come out and all those questions will be answered at that point so you'll have to check it out for sure.

Carrie Bell: But did you, did you know he was having this intense competition with you like in his head?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Yes, I can tell. You know, you know as just from my sport in racing I'm also very driven competitive person but I think that you'll see that Ryan's personality by being a competitive person can be a drawback because it's not a competition ...

Carrie Bell: Right.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: ... it's to see if you are compatible with somebody and I think that you'll see a lot of interesting things and, you know, and that's really all I can say about it.

Carrie Bell: Well, you make a pretty woman.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Thanks.

Operator: And your next question comes from the line of Caley Skinner from TV Guide Canada.

Caley Skinner: Hi, Arie.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Hi, how are you?

Caley Skinner: Good, thanks, how are you?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: I'm doing great.

Caley Skinner: Great. So I talked to a couple of the other guys in the house and they all talk about you as the like funny, goofball, (inaudible) would you say that's accurate?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Totally, I'm always, you know, and I think you see some of that, you're starting to see more of that on the show but I like to have a good time. I was friends with everybody in the house there's you know - although I have, you know, some moments with some of the guys, I think that's natural cause you are all in the house together and your spending so much time with everybody.

But in general I had a really good time and the show just gets better and better and better and I've built some really good relationships you know with the guys out of that whole deal because we had such a good time.

Caley Skinner: Yes, your attitude really comes across on the show, it's great. I'm wondering if you could give us any sort of behind the scenes like maybe pranks that you did with the guys or like goofy things that happened?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: I don't really know, I can't really remember because it was just - there was so many things, but I definitely was really good friends with Michael and definitely really good friends with - with Jef. And it was just kind of funny how you had like a little separation in the house. You had like the what we call the football team, and then it was like Jef and I versus everybody, it was kind of it was interesting because you really had so many different types of personalities, but we all meshed together pretty well.

Caley Skinner: That's great, so do you think your - your sort of goofy jokey personality maybe ever rubbed some guys the wrong way and caused any drama, or it was all good?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: I don't know, I just feel like they didn't expect me to have the connection I did with Emily so that kind of caught people off guard, but I don't know, adding a little humor to the house can never be a bad thing, you know? So I think that I just really had a relaxed attitude and really didn't go in with any expectations and it made it a really enjoyable experience.

Caley Skinner: Well great, well I think you are definitely one of the frontrunners or at least it seems like it so good luck. Nice talking to you.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Thank you.

Operator: Your next question is a follow-up from Beth Kwiatkowski from Reality TV World.

Elizabeth Kwiatkowski: Hi, Arie.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Hi.

Elizabeth Kwiatkowski: So speaking about you being a front runner that's been pretty clear to viewers so far this season as it seems obvious to the other guys in the house as well. So while you were on the show at this point in the competition did you feel like you were closer to winning Emily's heart then the rest of the guys? And if not who did you think was standing in your way? Like, who did you think also had a great shot to end up with her?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: It's so hard to say because everyone, literally everyone comes home from a date and they say it's the most amazing time and everyone talks about how you know how close they are with Emily, so I really didn't know. And it's kind of interesting because a lot of the guys didn't really want to talk about it at this point, because at this point feelings really started to get involved.

So as far as how I felt, how I felt I stacked up against the other guys I really - I really didn't try to like let myself entertain that idea because I was just so concentrated on just trying to work on Emily's and I's relationship that I tried not to let that enter my mind because I felt like that would slow us down.

Elizabeth Kwiatkowski: Sure, and at this point ...

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: If that makes any sense.

Elizabeth Kwiatkowski: Yes. It does. And at this point in the season, how strong were your feelings for Emily? It's clear you liked her a lot but you know were you falling in love with her or maybe even in love with her?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: You'll definitely see a progression, you know, this week on this week's episode, so that's something that I'd love for you to like on screen. So, yeah, of course I had really strong feelings for her at this point, and I definitely, I break the rules this week to make sure that she knows that and it was kind of crazy. So but I am proud of it that I did it that I took a chance and broke the rules to express how I felt.

Elizabeth Kwiatkowski: OK, great. And during Monday night's rose ceremony, what was going through your mind when Emily let the last rose come down to you and Alejandro? Did you think you were going home because of how you handled the "baggage" incident or where you pretty confident Emily wouldn't give up on your relationship just because of that and that she would give you the rose?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: I still felt confident. But I definitely felt that you know she had sent me a clear message and it was - it was noted and I really felt like I needed to - to step up to the plate a little bit more. So by her sending me - giving me the last rose that helped me realize that without just coming out and saying it.

Elizabeth Kwiatkowski: Sure, and you know there has been some skepticism that you being a race car driver just kind of happened to apply for the Bachelorette considering the coincidence of Emily's background story and her ex-fiancŽ Ricky. So, why did you initially apply to go on the show and how did that come about? Like did you apply on your own because you wanted a chance with Emily or did you not know much about Emily prior to appearing on the show?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Well, I didn't know anything about Emily, or I mean I've watched a little bit of The Bachelor the season with Ben and Courtney and I actually was at a race and I got a conference call from the producers asking me about another driver. And so we talked about that driver and eventually I was like this guy is probably not ready to settle down and then jokingly I just said "well what about me?"

And they sort of laughed it off and they said well we'll let you know, you know, if there is an opening but I think we have everybody. And then, you know, a lot of time went by and then they called me back and it was a very close to taping and they said are you still interested? And by that time I knew Emily was the Bachelorette and one of my friends who watches the show all the time -- her name is Christina -- she just told me you need to go on this show. Emily is right for you I know your personality; I know your type so when they called back I said yes, definitely.

And it was - it was - for me, it was so unexpected and it was very cool because when I showed up I didn't know anything about her. I didn't know her last name all I saw was like a picture on an iPhone from Google and it was cool because I really went into it sort of with no expectation and I think that is what made it the most fun.

Elizabeth Kwiatkowski: OK, awesome, and would you ever consider proposing to Emily without bonding with and really getting to know Ricki first. Like what are your thoughts on that?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: I think you'll definitely have to see the show for that because there's a lot that, you know, there's a lot that'll happen and you know I take a big risk this week and I break the rules and I may not even get that opportunity.

Elizabeth Kwiatkowski: OK, and just to get your prospective on things, I know you just talked to me a little bit about how your feelings for Emily were really strong at this point in the season. So, did you feel like Emily reciprocated those feelings for you as well? Like, did you think she was falling in love with you at the time? Or just (inaudible)?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: I felt like it. I felt like she did, I felt like she gave me a lot of confidence and it's always - I think it's always very hard, the situation is very difficult because she is seeing other people so you want to be reassured and I feel like - I feel like at this point she definitely reassured me that she had feelings for me and that's what made me I think so confident.

Elizabeth Kwiatkowski: OK, and my last question for you, Arie, is would you have any interest in becoming the next Bachelor if you don't end up with Emily?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Well, you know my fiancŽe might not approve of that. No, I'm just joking I mean I ...

Elizabeth Kwiatkowski: Like whoa what?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: No, I said, you know, basically it's hilarious because I know that's a hot topic right now but, you know, who knows what happens and if I am engaged to Emily, I don't think it would be possible for me to become the next Bachelor.

Elizabeth Kwiatkowski: OK, thank you so much.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Thanks.

Operator: A follow-up from Paige Feigenbaum from ET online.

Paige Feigenbaum: Hi, again, Arie.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Hi.

Paige Feigenbaum: Should you wind up with Emily, you got a little taste of Charlotte, would you be interested in relocating there to live with her and RickI or would you be more interested in having them relocate to Arizona?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Those are all things that are definitely talked about on the show but actually when I was in Charlotte I didn't even get a date in Charlotte. My date was in - my date was in Tennessee because we flew to Dollywood so I didn't get to see much of Charlotte actually and it still somewhere where I'd love to visit.

Paige Feigenbaum: Great and I have one more question. I'm scrolling to it, OK, I'm (inaudible) you said you haven't really too much of past seasons, people when they came forward to tattletale on somebody it wound up being the demise of their relationship. Is that kind of what held you back and you were afraid of ruining what you and Emily had if you'd brought drama into that?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: I'm sorry can you ask that again, I didn't understand it too well?

Paige Feigenbaum: Sure, on season's past when a contestant ...

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Yes.

Paige Feigenbaum: ... went to the Bachelor or Bachelorette and told on a fellow contestant that brought a rift between a relationship that may have been going well ...

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: OK. I see.

Paige Feigenbaum: ... that way you can feel comfortable coming forward. That happened last season with Ben and I think ironically a woman named Emily who was trying to warn him about Courtney and then he just didn't really want to hear it because he had already formed such strong feelings for Courtney.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Right, I think, you know, from my standpoint at this point I really felt like I needed to just concentrate on us, so I didn't really want to talk about things in the house but then in London she really made it a point to say that, you know, that she didn't feel that anyone had her back. So, that sort of you know changed my opinion a little bit. So but at this point in the show I really felt like it wasn't my place to say anything about what was happening in the house.

Paige Feigenbaum: And lastly, you briefly mentioned something about a fiancŽe so of course we have to ask, I know you can't say if you are with Emily or not but are you single is there a possibility or are you definitely taken at this point by somebody?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: I can't say that. You'll just have to watch it all unfold. The story line this week is just is just - is just it really turns - turns things up and for me to emotionally and I think this is - this is definitely a turning point for me this week.

Paige Feigenbaum: Yes, you keep hinting on major things could you possibly be hinting at a proposal prior to the finale from you?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: I don't think - I don't think that would happen this soon its only week five so or week six in - in Dubrovnik and I will say that Dubrovnik was one of my favorite locations and it was such a beautiful city and I definitely want to go back there someday.

Paige Feigenbaum: Great, thank you very much.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: You're welcome.

Operator: And the next question is from Lauren Wang, KITV.

Lauren Wang: Hey Arie, how are you it's me again.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Good, how are you, no worries.

Lauren Wang: Good, I have a question. Were you nervous to tell her that you were a race car driver once you found out her past?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: I was nervous, just because I took a big risk going on the show in general and I think that, you know, that would either be something that we would connect on or that could be a conflict. And I wanted to tell her like right away so that we could either move forward or, you know, or if it was - if it was something that was going to bother then, you know, I would have known right away.

So yes, I definitely was nervous and you can kind of see that when I'm on camera because I'm usually very, you know, funny and sort of relaxed and I definitely was tense in that moment.

Lauren Wang: And you mentioned that you were close to Jef and he seems also like a frontrunner, did you guys have any competitive edge towards each other?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Not at all actually, Jef and I had a pretty cool relationship because we could really talk about what was going on in the house pretty openly to each other, whereas some of the other guys in the house is difficult for them to hear about the dates that were going on and so yes, Jef and I, had a had a pretty cool relationship, the friendship going.

Lauren Wang: And so far what's your fondest memory up until this point up until Croatia?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Oh God, there, that's a tough one. I'd have to say my first day at Dollywood was literally the best date of my life and it was it was - it was so (inaudible) you meet so many people in your life and it's very rare when you connect with somebody in a way that's, I feel, very meaningful and very right off the bat and I feel like that's what we at Dollywood had like we had just this most amazing date and I say in a whole that that date was probably the still the best date of my life.

Lauren Wang: Sorry, I just want to go into that a little bit more. I mean I don't know I look at this show sometimes and I'm like of course I would fall in love if I was freaking at, you know, Dollywood, you know, whatever exclusive, you know, candlelit dinner or going to all these exotic places and it's to me not realistic. Do you think if you just went to you know a local pub in Arizona you'd feel the same way?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Literally this is what - it's kind of a bummer that it wasn't shown but when we got picked up and we were in the limo together and she comments about it on the show, you know, immediately we were like laughing and I literally could have driven around in that limo all day. Like it didn't matter where we were or what we were doing. Just being together and talking and laughing and getting to know each other was far more special than flying in a plane and being at Dollywood and it was just the connection that we have.

So I know that it's hard to really believe but, you know, when you connect with somebody it really doesn't matter what you are doing, right? And that's what we had on our first date and we really could have done anything and it would have been great.

Lauren Wang: OK, great, thanks, Arie, have a good one.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: You're welcome.

Operator: And the final question comes from Carrie Bell from People Magazine.

Carrie Bell: OK, one quick question. Are you ready or were you ready at that point to be a dad and a husband and all that stuff?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: At the point, at the point on the show?

Carrie Bell: Yes, I mean ...

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: I think in general - I think in general, you know, going into the show - going into the show I was ready for, you know, that next step to be married and to have kids because I was, you know, in a relationship where I took kids to school and I - and I was in a relationship with a single mother that had a few kids and it just made me grow up and mature in ways that I can't really explain. But when that relationship ended, I knew, you know, that I wanted that and, you know, I am 30 years old and I've grown up around adults my whole life. I feel like an old soul and I really, really was looking for that. And, you know, for me that's not even a question. It's total fact. I definitely want to get married; I definitely want to have kids and hopefully the sooner the better.

Carrie Bell: And then if it can't be you, and I know this is a difficult question if you have feelings for her or if it is you, but if it can't be you which other bachelor do you think is the best fit for her?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Well all I'll say is that there's a lot of really good guys there. And, you know, a handful of like very good individuals and its not that anyone's better than the next guy. It's the relationship. If the relationship is strong and the feelings are strong and I think that you'll see that all unfold. But there is definitely, I don't have that feeling to where you know you know Chris, Sean, Jef -- whoever's left on the show -- couldn't make for a good father or a good husband. And, you know, the guys that are there now are all very good individuals.

Carrie Bell: Except maybe Ryan.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: You said it, not me.

Carrie Bell: All right, thank you.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: You're welcome.

Operator: And we do have another question from Sammi Turrano from TVGrapevine.com.

Sammi Turrano: Hi, Arie, how are you?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: I'm doing good.

Sammi Turrano: Good, glad to hear, I just have one question for you, if you were to plan a date with Emily and Ricki what would you plan and why?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Oh my God, you are putting the pressure on me right now.

Sammi Turrano: Sorry.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: The cool thing about Emily is she's very, you know, she takes enjoyment out of very simple things. So I feel like you know going with her and Ricki to like a pottery painting place and painting pottery and doing like cool intimate things would just be - would just be fun, you know? I think that the crazy exciting dates, you know, are behind us and if I were to plan a date, it would be something simple like that.

Sammi Turrano: Wonderful, thank you so much and good luck.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: You're welcome.

Operator: And I am showing no further questions at this time.

Natalia Desrosiers: OK. Anymore questions before we finish up?

Operator: Again that is star one to ask a question.

And I am showing no further questions.

Natalia Desrosiers: OK. All right, well thank you everybody. I hope you got everything that you needed. And if you have any questions feel free to email me at natalia.desrosiers@warnerbros.com. We'll have the transcript of this up tomorrow. And thanks again and we'll be talking to you next week.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Thanks, everybody.

Operator: I'm sorry. This does conclude today's conference. You may now disconnect.

END

Thanks, noobs!

Lauren Wang: And how strong are your feelings for Emily right now?

Arie Luyendyk Jr.: Still as strong as they were while I was on the show.

And that's why we see Ms. Cassie in three of six episodes!

It's interesting to me that Arie regularly refers to this strong bond with Jef throughout the interview. So what friend would say that he still has strong feelings for the dude's fiance? I guess it'll be read as Arie not admitting to having "strong feelings" only that his feelings now are equal to those when on the show, which could be lukewarm, I suppose.

Veg_out, I had similar thoughts. I found the quote below to be especially interesting:

He took this right out of the TV guide interview. Emily was at a pottery painting shop with the interviewer.
