IMO the good guys are the ones who go into the experience open and honest and don't play any games.
can you name one guy who did not have some sort of "plan" as you call it when going on this show? I think Jef's only plan was to not act a fool and embarrass himself, his family or his company. He wanted to see if Emily showed interest in him first. It worked. I dont see that as being dishonest. It was different that the other guys approach but not bad. I can name a couple of guys this season who where way more dishonest with Emily. Besides she seems very very happy and by all accounts Jef is a very good guy. So mazel tov .

Reading Jef's interview reminded me so much of the vlog that JP did while Ashley's show was still airing. A lot of similarities with the whole "tone" of it.
I'm really looking forward to watching how this all plays out. So happy for Emily if she found her guy.

I'm not trying to be fiesty just legit don't see how him saying he had a strategy is not trustworthy?
Some people thought that in last week's episode, Jef told Emily that it WASN'T a strategy...therefore he lied and is not trustworthy. But if you listen to their conversation, he never says that.
Actually, the conversation with Emily was pretty cagey and open to interpretation. AND the specific question was different: Emily asked very specifically why it took so long for him to kiss her. We don't know the EXACT question asked in the media interview yet, but the answer sounds like it was slightly different.
You do have to be careful with a smart guy - they can play on words. I remember dating guys who used to do that to test how connected we were, ie I did I get their meaning, or did it whoossshhh over my head (the later not being a good thing).
I quoted the conversation in another post, and he never says it WASN'T a strategy. I was just trying to clarify that since somebody seemed to think that he answered "no" when Emily asked if it was part of his plan. I'm really confused why we are debating this when Emily herself said that it totally worked and she likes that he keeps her guessing. She clearly has no problem with it and that's what matters.

The "done with dating on reality TV" and "wouldn't accept the Bachelor if it were offered" strikes me that way, too.
Well, I met him, and I can totally see how he does (have the girl). Nothing phased him while we watched the show Monday with him. He joked about Sean kissing her, pretending he was mad. Everyone was teasing him about it, too. He just watched it not like he was trying to figure things out but just like he wanted to see the show, what they showed. He seemed totally cool about it all, and very happy.
There were a lot of cute girls at the party and you could tell he was there just to tell people about his experience and hang out. But he didn't seem to have any interest other than to just be friendly, with anyone.
Me and Joni's story has always been, he just seemed happy, fine.jonify55 wrote:Several of you asked how he responded to Arie's kissing? He was talking to a girl next to him...but then he left the room during the part when Em and Arie were on the bed and I was glad.
To be fair, I'm pretty sure that Joni said he left the room to take a call. Small detail, but adds a little context that it wasn't because he was upset by what he was seeing - his phone rang and he stepped out to take the call. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong on that.
Well, he could of stepped out to take a call from a pretty blonde. So she could reasure him it was him all along. As Brad said, what happened on the show is over. How to deal with real life afterwards is what was important. I see Emily doing the same thing. As far as Jef getting mad about Em kissing all these guys. I don't think it would bother him as much as others. He knows it is going to take place, and if he is just focused on the end of the show and there after that is what is important. If anything I would think he would be reassuring Emily that he was ok with it all.

It's interesting to me that he openly admitted to playing a game with her at first. Obviously, it was a good strategic plan seeing as how it worked out. First by attracting some attention i.e. getting an usual haircut, then riding in on a skate board to make her take notice of him in a sea of 25 faces then playing hard to get and appearing to be aloof. She didn't have to take the bait and any of those things could have sent him home. His risk paid off.
I think it rubs people the wrong way because of the game play aspect of it has a contrived feeling to it. Like it's about winning a competition instead of finding love. Especially, when it appears that there are others there who just try to be themselves and hope that's enough for some kind of connection.

IA. A strategy like Jef's implies that it really wasn't about the girl but about seeing how far he could get. Since when did this place become a Jef fansite?

The dude hanging back to see if she is really interested in him is not so much game play as self preservation.
No need to hate on all the players. Jef, Arie and Sean are all stellar people...so's Em from all appearances. Let's enjoy the ride.
Oh and yeah, kumbayah! Peace. I mean don't dude, don't.

Jef sounds happy and in love. Emily is one lucky girl. Happy that he for one is above all of the petty negativity.

Thank you. Most of the time, I am most fascinated by the inner workings of the show and the biz angle of it. Their moves intrigue me. This time I am quite bummed for sweet Sean as I think he's a keeper.

Well, it aint over till it's over. Or until we get a picture of Emily with a ring on her finger, gleefully hugging one of these guys. So you never know.
