Ok... again... playing devil's advocate here... but couldn't Ashely keeping a journal be for Ben F. too? What if things started getting really real for her and Ben on this date and she knows what Ben will be seeing with JP after the fact. I think the journal could be for either/or. Just my 2 cents. :D

ETA: I misread your posts... I see you considered both.

That's a good point and I agree it's only natural Ashley would be worried about the drama an overnight date would cause. What I find more noteworthy is that she chose to mention that in the blog. I find that a little bit strange if Ben F is F1. It's like "Hey everybody! While I was on a romantic 1-on-1 date with my F1, I spent part of it wondering how the other guys would react to it being set up to be an overnight date!"

But then again if Ben F is F1 then it's probably just Ashley's commitment to honesty talking and he already knows she was thinking about it anyway so no big deal.

Ashley S. also made it a point on her twitter to make sure everyone knew nothing happened on that overnight. If she was with her F1 on that date, why bother to explain nothing happened? jmo

I'll definitely be watching that part again - I'm not exactly sure at what point JP walked out in relation to what Ben was saying.

here's the scene, as close as I could get it:

Ben: hey boys
Lucas or Ames?: what is up ..
Ryan: mr 24 hours..
Dino: mr all nighter, himself!
Ben: more like 36
Dino: wo hoa, take it easy!
Ben: no.. it was good.

Ames: did you guys do any physical activities.. like bungee jumping..
Ben: no.. no..
Dino: no, nothing.. nothing physical?
Ben: (laughing) nothing physical.. that you need to know about. Yeah, it was a great day. I didn't think I was spending the night either.
Dino: how was breakfast?
Ben: It was nice, I had a nice time.
Lucas: Sounds like it.
Ben: what have you guys been doing?
Lucas: talking about you, buddy.
Ben: Yeah, I bet.
Ryan: The big unspoken elephant in the room.. it seems like you guys did not share a room.
(JP gets up and starts to walk away in the middle of Ryan's statement.)
Ben: We did not share a room, no.
(JP still in the middle of walking away, had just passed Ben when Ben makes his statement. You can see Ben saying it as JP passes him so it's not spliced in.)


A few things I noticed:
1. Constantine was really the one egging the conversation on in a way to get at JP... Dino was the one that had been ragging on JP earlier too.. asking him what would he do if Ben didn't come back before the group date, and JP was like "I don't want to talk about it"
2. The breakfast talk was completely ambiguous. Did Ben have breakfast with Ashley or not? Dino was implying it, and Ben cleverly avoided being specific. These guys are competitive, Ben was certainly happy to let them think what they want. But he never said he had breakfast with Ash.
3. Ben said "It was a great day."

I actually laughed out loud when I read the bolded above. Only Ames would ask a question like when everyone else wanted to know something else.

The guys are definitely egging JP on because they know how invested he is in Ashley. One could extrapolate from that that they are probably less invested in her themselves, or they wouldn't be finding the whole topic/exercise so amusing. Frankly, I find it ridiculous (although not unexpected, since this exact thing was discussed/predicted here 2 weeks ago) that JP is now being branded as having some sort of "dangerous" personality issues, based on his reaction to a bunch of guys ragging on him.

What makes it further ridiculous is that Trista, of all people, is comparing him over and over again to her sweet Ryan, who she claims acted pretty much the same way. Guess Ryan has dangerous jealousy and anger management issues too. Who knew?

Dino came off completely ridiculous last night. I get that Ben is his friend and all but seriously??!!?! WTF dude.. you are competing for this girl too. This just solidified to me that he is just sticking around to hang out (maybe to hand with Ben longer) and has no real interest in Ash... boo Dino... you lost points with me last night. I am SOOO glad JP was emotionally mature enough to say he didn't want to talk about it. Kudos to JP on that one.

Once I heard that my date with Ben was an "overnight" date, I knew this would immediately cause drama. I spent part of the date worrying about how this may affect the other guys, but ultimately I was just excited to have Ben all to myself.

My dates with Ben are always great. He is an incredibly easy-going person and is very fun to be around. What I really love about him is that he's the kind of boyfriend you could take anywhere – and he'd be comfortable and engaging. Ben was great in this environment, whether it was me almost killing him on a scooter in Taroko National Park, or getting dressed up and having a fancy dinner. The romance heats up every time we're together and this date was no different. Oh, and just to clarify, this "overnight" date was spent apart!

I thought it was interesting how Ashley talked about what she loves about Ben and the romance heating up.

Whether Ben or JP are f1 or not, Ashley would be mentioning separate rooms. I've noticed that Bachelorettes tend to be a bit more sensitive about the possible physical aspects of sharing a room during the FDs and usually mention how there's mostly talking going on. If they were to share a room while on a date it would give Ben even more of a perceived advantage. I also believe at this point in the show she hasn't quite decided who she's going to pick so no use completely messing with the other guys' minds. :Nod:

That was a good blog from Ashley.. it seems to me like she was defending JP with her comment about showing emotions being a sign of strength.
