Jef might be like Ryan Sutter: if we're engaged we're as good as married so lets do it, why wait? I favor long engagements but some people are like Ryan and it has worked out for him, it works for a lot of people. Will it work for Jef and Emily? No idea, it's up to the two of them.
Emily and Jef don't need ABC/Next money to pull off a spectacular wedding so they're not in the same boat as a struggling young couple who could really use the help. They're not bound to ABC's schedule, when can they work a tv wedding in, how would it work too close to Jash's wedding, etc, that stuff doesn't have to be an issue if they do it on their own.

I daresay, if (and that's a HUGE IF) it gets to a wedding with them, it will be televised. And not because anyone needs the hand out.
MF would be a fool not to do whatever it takes to televise that.

see2love I'm with you, even though all the "spoiled signs" point to Jef, I'm still hoping it went a different way.

Actually if there is a wedding in the mix then TPTB have a huge say .. They are very bound to ABC regardless of how they do itterabithia wrote:nutty1 wrote:sophienette wrote:Guess who is following this crowd on Twitter:

but there is a time limit - I believe it's 2 years.

Nice! I wonder if this was just for fun.
Re: Tweet/Facebook Updates - Bachelorette 8 - Thread #6
So ABC can legally require them to get married on TV or wait two years to get married? That's bizarre, but they sign the contract... I don't have a problem with the tv wedding like some fans do, it allows the couple to use their own money for more important things so it's a good deal IMO. And if they have to wait 2 years to get married on their own it shouldn't be a surprise when a couple decides to have it televised.

No the only requirement in the past has been if they want their wedding televised and paid for, they have to get married within 2 years.

They could always write their own vows... full of F words, of course... televise THAT! :winkie:

I believe they also own the right to their wedding and any materials (ie. vids, photogs) for 2 years - that is they can't say NO to ABC and sell it to CBS...
of course any couple can go off and elope as long as they dont' try and sell it to anyone else.
after the 2 year period the couple is free to do whatever they want.
