I saw the opening of the Olympics and the first part was a bit odd. The whole industrial revolution was strange for a sporting event. I liked James Bond being upstaged by the Queen, Mr Bean is always funny and the lighting of the Olympic flame.

David Beckham as always never disappoints.....)

I love the Olympics too!
I like the Summer Olympics, but the Winter Olympics are my favorite.
I'm a huge figure skating fan.

I remember the Golden Years and popularity of figure skating with my all-time favorites - Alexei Urmanov, Alexei Yagudin, Yevgeny Pliushenko, Irina Slutskaya - all Olympians and, except for Slutskaya, Olympic Champions.

My favorite among the current eligible skaters is Jeremy Abbott - and also Yevgeny Pliushenko, who is trying for a comeback at the Soshi, Russia, Olympics in 2014.

For the Summer Olympics, my favorite sports are gymnastics, equestrian, and swimming.
Growing up partly in Switzerland (and partly in the US) (another of my favorite figure skaters is Swiss Olympian Stephane Lambiel) - I have a lot of experience myself in skating and figure skating - often out of doors - but not competitively - just for fun and as a hobby. :Smiley:

I'm very much looking forward to the Olympic experience now!

I thought the industrial revolution thing was cool but it took FOREVER to pull off. I fell asleep, woke up, and they were still pulling up the damn grass.

I liked all of the Mary Poppins flying in.

Their little 18 year old "star" for the digital age was gorgeous.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Mr. Bean!! OMG - my favorite part so far.

The Queen arrival was cute but like everything else, it was too dragged out!
