My guess is, gone in the first 2 episodes. Emily's got a kid, she can't have 3 people in her home that are high maintenance. From shots of her around town, she doesn't mind dressing down. I think he may have thought he was auditioning for a role on ABC's "Revenge".

He's no Nolan, that's for sure! There's no chance in hell he ends up with Emily, but I hope he's entertaining and fun, rather than pretentious and annoying.

Me too. However, pretentious and annoying tend to be more dramatic than entertaining and fun. TPTB seem to error on the side of drama rather than fun. I doubt we'll see his fun side, even if he has one, since they will highlight the annoyance factor and play it up to be much worse than it might be. I am sure he will give them enough fodder with which to work.

Do you think we would have heard by now if he was back in Houston? Do you think that might mean he is still on the show?

Anything is possible. I'm sure Emily is used to being around trust fund/socialite types like him. If nothing else he might be alot of fun and great to talk about fashion with, even if he might not be her type for a romantic relationship. So, she might just keep him around for that reason, entertainment.
